The veal chops were juicy and tender! My husband had the main lobster and it was delicious. Everything were cooked just right!

Anniversary dinner on 8/13 at 7:00pm. We arrived at CIBO at 6:30pm to have a cocktail before dinner, but the bar was packed full. However, the hostess had our booth ready, and we were promptly seated. I had stopped into the restaurant on Thursday to make a special request. CIBO had a 100 pt Brunello on the wine list for $150, and I wanted to make sure they would decant the wine when CIBO opened on Saturday. CIBO did not have the 2010 Brunello I wanted, but did have the 2011 (95 pt). I decided to go with the wine as long as they promised to decant. I was assured they would accommodate my request. As promised, our server, James, brought out our Brunello decanted. They even had Brunello specific wine glasses which was super-cool. The wine definitely had been decanted, and was completely opened up on the nose and tasting sample...and it was well worth the $150. Here is the wine for the those interested: 2011 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova. After having a barely passable cosmopolitan and whiskey sour we proceeded to order our apps. I decided on the jumbo shrimp in garlic and butter while my wife had the meatball. Wasn't too impressed with the shrimp, but the meatball was to die for. Best we have ever had. My wife was so impressed with the meatball she decided on angel hair pasta with meatballs as her main. I had the filet which was overcooked (requested medium rare and received medium), but the quality of the meat and demi-glaze saved the meal. Spinach and mash were fine, but nothing special. Our server brought us a complimentary tiramisu which was great (though I must admit Colleoni's is better). They had a decent eiswein on the menu and it paired perfectly with the tiramisu. Finished the evening with a great cup of coffee. Overall, even with the few hiccups (average cocktails, average shrimp, wrong temp on the filet) the evening was great, and I have no problem giving CIBO a 4 star rating. read more

Cibo has a wonderful menu offering a variety of apps and main courses. There is something for your beef eaters, seafood fare and vegans too! Largely italian based. The meatballs are a meal in themselves! Truly a nice bar - a place to meet with friends - very social great for singles too. The staff are super friendly and very experienced. Had a very nice dinner at Cibo last night. I had the Veal Chop which was the type of Veal Chop you have in NY, NJ, LI. Very good at a reasonable price. My wife had the Penne alla Vodka which was delicious. The kid had Mama's Meat Balls with Spaghetti. Best Meatballs she has had! The bread was excellent as well as the salads. Only negative was the transition of the wine list. What I ordered they did not have. The replacement was only OK. A bit noisier then we expected but that was because of all the very positive energy by all the diners! read more

This was our last day in Fort Meyers and this place by far was the best meal we had on our entire trip. It was so so good. We had the gnocchi appetizer, delicious! We are new in town and my husband looked up several restaurants to try. We chose CIBO last night (Friday). We called to see if we needed a reservation, and we did. When we arrived around 5:15, it was packed with locals at the quaint bar and tables were filling up fast! They have plenty of servers and they are very attentive. The atmosphere was candlelight dining. I was wearing shorts and a blouse, but I think next time I'll wear pants. The food was excellent! The drinks were excellent! What a wonderful find!! This is a "locals" place, that serves just wonderful Italian with wonderful service!! Our server, " Wally the waiter", was a joy and gave wonderful info about the menu and the history of the restaurant. We felt as though we were part of the "family"!! The food was just great!! We started with a Caprese salad with an unctuous balsamic that made the dish sing with the excellent fresh mozzarella. My wife absolutely loved the Carbonara Vitelli, delicious veal cutlet over some fettuccine carbonara that she found spectacular!! I had Penne with sausage, cannellini. beans, red peppers, onions, garlic, and olive oil. It was extremely full flavored but not heavy, delicious. The wine list is truly unbelievable! I lived in Sonoma County California for 30 years and was astounded by the selection of small boutique wineries that are on the list!! I inquired of Wally who was responsible for the exquisite list. He stated that the owner took a great deal of pride in selecting the wines, and let me assure you whether European or West Coast, he knocked it out if the park!! I leave this review not about the food which was great, but the server representing the restaurant. Unfortunately we were surprised at the end if the meal with "extra" charges that are ALWAYS included. A martini "UP" was an add. 1.25! How petty, we were charged an additional three dollars each on four glasses of wine because the server said he charged us for the wine that most people drink which we had ordered the house wine. And a 3.00 misc food item on the bill which we're not sure if it was the extra bread we ordered or a teaspoon of extra sauce on our leftovers. The restaurant was nice but when you leave a restaurant and you're not talking about the food but the charges and that pushy server, the whole experience is tainted. read more

We are glad to have discovered this restaurant. Four of us initially just stopped for drinks but ended up ordering the fried mozzarella, which led to full on dinner. Entire party enjoyed their food. While their we took note of the employees being very friendly with a couple of young kids out dining with mom and dad, which does not happen real often in a nice place and we thought that was cool. The best service in the City !!! I don't know exactly how they do it, but from the initial greeting to the 1st beverage to the final cup of coffee, the server and her team were like clockwork, friendly and seamless clockwork that is. My table was as happy with their food as anywhere we have ever gathered. For my part, I did find the calamari a bit too breaded, but the dipping sauce was like no other I have ever tasted. The accompanying Caesar salad was not very traditional, but I'm told that Cibo's version is wildly popular. Personally, the pan fried encrusted cod was a huge disappointment. It was like thawed rubber drowned in white sauce to hide any and all deficiencies. But when you are in the company of friends who are so satisfied and filled with culinary pleasure, who am I to question the quality of their food. read more

For me last night was disappointing, but I am not going to lower their score because of a misunderstanding. The other three loved their entrees. Our personable server went over the specials and I perked up at the sound of tuna.. I asked if was Ahi Tuna and was told yes. I was asked how I wanted it cooked and of course I said rare. So I was really disappointed when my entree came as a tuna steak when I was expecting ahi and those sides of ginger and wasabi. The special of the night was jalapeno shrimp with french green beans. There was no sign of jalapenos on the shrimp and the sauce was a sweet marmalade sauce which I thought was super weird and contradictory. The grilled shrimp was great but the sauce they used ruined it. We also ordered the beet and arugula salad which was super plain and bland. The help was super friendly and helpful. I would not go back to this restaurant as the food was just not good. It seemed like they may have just hired a new chef that doesnt have the experience for this price level. read more

What a fantastic meal!!! My mouth is still watering thinking about my veal chop and that creamy risotto!!!! I would get it again if I went. Also our server Pena (sorry I probably spelled her name wrong) was awesome. She was so sweet and very accommodating. 5-star dining in a strip mall - who knew!? Service was phenomenal, solid and affordable wine list, everything on the menu looked divine and fresh. Real, beautifully presented Caesar salad with fresh anchovies! The bread service included tapenade, olive oil, butter--the bread arrived hot and crusty with soft, dense middle = worthy carbs! Child neglect Ignored By Owner. (CIBO) We called the Fort Myers police because small children were locked in a car outside CIBO. Parent was drinking a cocktail waiting for his dinner. When we implored him to go to his children, he went only when he realized we had called the police. When police arrived, moments after parent sped away, owner of CIBO refused to reveal to the police, who the parent, that was drinking at his restaurant, was. The police were helpful and professional, the owners behavior was cowardly and beligerant. If supporting a restaurant that protects child abusers sounds appetizing, this is your place. Racism is alive in Ft Myers. First off, the food was pleasant (which I would give a 4.5 out of 5 for the cuisine). My girlfriend and I were looking on Trip Advisor for new Gluten free options after a long day of studying. When we entered the restaurant we both felt underdressed, as it was nicer than we had anticipated (I was in cut off cargo shorts and a t-shirt with flip flops, and she wore a sweatshirt with leggings). As we walked up to the hostess, an older female asked if we had any reservations; I replied "no ma'am we do not" (as I was embarrassed for being underdressed yet polite). She sat us in the bar section which was understandable. A middle aged gentlemen took our non alcoholic beverage order, as well as, our entree order. I noticed he quickly told us the specials then walked off. As the meal continued I felt that our server was acting more and more short mannered/ inconsiderate. I then began to notice that he was only directing his remarks to myself and not paying attention to my girlfriend when she had a question. I didn't think much of it at the time, but related it to our dress code. When the bill came, I immediately put my credit card into the proper slot and left it standing up. Our server snatched it off the table dropping the receipt inside. When he came back for me to sign the copy, he placed it on the table and walked away. I was upset at this time and gave a very generous 10% tip. My girlfriend left the restaurant before me to take a phone call while I was paying the bill. As I left the restaurant I said good evening to the hostess and she replied have a good night. By the time I got to the car, my girlfriend was off the phone. She asked if the hostess or server said something to the affect of "thank you for coming in tonight". I replied yes, the hostess did. She said that's funny, because as I left I said good night to both ladies and they didn't respond to me. Things started to click why the server and hostess were nice to a Caucasian male but pretended to not hear an Indian female. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with the service tonight. Please let your staff know this behavior is unacceptable. read more

The Spaghetti Bolognese and the spaghetti with meatballs differ only in that the meatballs are broken up a little in the bolognese instead of making a separate bolognese sauce or so it seems. Our first visit last night and probably our last. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, the bartender took care to introduce himself and get our names. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. I ordered the pork rolled in prosciutto stuffed with spinach and cheese (I think) and it was way overcooked and dry. I could hardly cut the prosciutto. The gravy beneath it was also over-cooked and heavy which gave it a bit of a bitter taste. I sent it back and decided to just share my wife's dish. No-one, other than my waiter, came over to ask me about the dish or apologize. My wife had one of the specials, a triple tail fish. The fish looked great but it was drowned in an un-inspired sauce. Nothing bright or lively to compliment the fish, just a typical "italian" sauce. The tiramisu for dessert was delicious and they did comp it due to the entree read more

Amazing food, great service and good location. We started off with the calamari and a caprese salad. The calamari was tender with just enough breading and seasoning. The mozzarella is home made, rich and creamy, tomatoes sweet and perfectly ripe. Just enough balsamic and quality oil finished it off perfectly. I had the whole bronzino - it was cooked to perfection, fell off the bone without being over done. My wife had the grouper, the sauce was amazing, I would have sopped up every last drop if I wasn't looking forward to dessert. I think Al M pretty much summed it up for me in his review. I also had my families Christmas Eve dinner at Cibo this year. In fact, is is become a family and friend tradition for the last 4-5 years. This is the kind of place you celebrate a special occasion at. But it not to stuffy or uptight to dine on regular old date night. If you like Caesar salad, there's is by far the best in town! And you can even request anchovies for the purist. Can't really say I have had a bad meal here. Save room for creme brûlée or the chocolate volcano. I was skeptical about an Italian place in Florida, since I'm a snobby NYC elitist. As it turned out, the place was really nice. The food was excellent, generous portions. The bread came around with olive paste, butter, and olive oil. I ordered Penne Vodka, of course. They did a great job with it. For dessert we had a chocolate volcano cake, topped off with a scoop of ice cream, which was also excellent. Close to home and exclusive. The atmosphere is elegantly sophisticated, dark and friendly. A bit pricy but the quality is there.
