Again: we went there over Christmas and this place serves the best authentic italian food in town!

I went to Café Cibo for my first time with some work colleagues. Our server's name was Deegan. Despite being an unapologetic Irish man working in an Italian restaurant, he was both attentive and knowledgeable. He shared with us the catch of the day and chef's specials like a poet laureate. The food was delicious, starting with the complimentary oven fresh break and dipping trio, including the appetizers (we had the calamari and the gnocchi), and the main courses. The portions are quite large, and you could easily share both the appetizers and main dishes and leave satisfied. The wine selection and imported beer list is extensive. I'd like to see some local craft beer offerings or a few more bottled craft choices. The restaurant is in a strip mall. You can't take that away from the first impression. Once the doors open, you are transcended into a warm, welcoming, sophisticated restaurant. The bathrooms are surprisingly need, and remind me of a Hyatt in Asia. I guess the experience once you walk through the doors into the restaurant make up for the location. In the case of Cibo, the end does justify the means. read more

I had heard wonderful things, so I already had high expectations - and up front let me just say that they were all met. They took our reservation and were completely ready for us upon arrival. The waiter was very friendly, had wonderful customer service, even taking all of our names, asking our reason for getting together for dinner that evening, etc... We started with the calamari, which was very good. But my dinner was absolutely incredible - I had the Braciola di Maiale - which was a pork loin, wrapped in prosciutto with provolone, spinach, and roasted red pepper with mashed potatoes. Every bite was incredible! To finish, I had the creme brule, which was also fantastic. It was definitely on the more expensive end of dinner - to be considered fine dining - but very worth it for a nice night out. They definitely lived up to their reputation! read more

We were having a bad night, but dinner at Cibo turned that around. Our waiter (Alex E on the receipt) remained soundly chipper despite our extremely somber moods. He was awesome. The food took longer than expected to come out, hence the four stars instead of five- they were pretty busy. But once it did... oh my god. Heavenly. We ordered a scallops and risotto appetizer, an eggplant Milanese, and a chicken parm. Good sized portions, but very simply and cleanly prepared- all of the flavors really had a chance to shine. So, so delicious, and it totally turned our moods around. We definitely recommend this place for great food and friendly service. read more

Four of us had dinner 08/17/19. A bit noisy but not enough to be a problem for the hearing impaired. LOL. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Marsala. I had the eggplant parm with angel hair pasta which was excellent & so reminded us of a hometown restaurant that served an equally excellent entree. Our friends had salmon with scallops & muscles, & veal parm which both said were outstanding. Our waiter Alex E was there when needed, informative of all the offerings & asked if I'd like extra sauce for my pasta which I took home. Nice touch! All our meals were large. Hello! We have finally found CIBO in Ft. Myers - its a gem! Miraculous that you can find a restaurant of this quality in a STRIP MALL - who knew? Only in Florida. The restaurant is very well laid out and the ambiance was delightful. More spacious than ever expected from the front door and very comfortable and welcoming. After a friendly greeting we were whisked away to our table where we were instantly acquainted with Carmen. I think Carmen is a cyborg - half human, half robot. Her perfection and professionalism was beyond reproach. Her ability to describe the specials and answer questions in specific detail was unlike anything I've ever experienced. And the thoroughness and attentiveness of her service was maintained throughout our visit. This is service of the very highest standard. And it carried through with others on the staff who assisted Carmen in the delivery and disposition of our meal. These things don't happen by chance, these folks are well trained, well coordinated and make for a delightful dining experience. We enjoyed a variety of meat, fish and pasta. The filet with wine demi and gorgonzola was a standout! A buttery, beautifully prepared filet with 2 to die for sauces was out of this world. The tri-tail over saffron risotto (a special this evening) was delicious. Unfortunately, the cheese raviolis fell a bit short and cut this from 5 to 4 stars. 2 in our group of 4 went this route and were unanimously disappointed. For this author, ravioli reminds me of chef-boy-ar-dee so I would never indulge. Oh well. Dessert was also delicious and the variety was astounding. All in - a thoroughly enjoyable experience. If you don't have James as your server or you aren't a local physician, car dealer, or politician, you get treated like a second class citizen. My husband and I have been going here for over a year (sometimes twice a week), and the staff doesn't know our names or acknowledge us. My dinner tonight was cold, and the server spent more time in the kitchen than making sure our dining experience was fantastic. They don't care or have a cheerful relationship with their customers. You are just a commodity. read more

Loved the atmosphere! People extremely friendly!! Made some new friends and can't wait to come back for the food. They were extremely accomodating to me - all I wanted to do was sit at the bar and enjoy a glass of wine after an extremely trying day and finding out a dear friend was in hospice care. There was no room at the bar but they found a way to get me in. Sat outside for a while then the manager came to get me. Everyone from Patti the hostess to Pepe the Bartender, and even the patrons - made me feel extremely WELCOME. Think I found my new place in Florida. Thanks for all that you do. read more

We have been visiting Cibo for years and I keep waiting for something negative to happen but it just never does. The food is always incredible. My favorites are the veal chop, the lamb and the Plumpjack Merlot that, for me, goes with everything. My hubby loves the Chicken Parmigiana and their steaks are great cuts cooked perfectly to temperature. The side dishes are just enough to compliment the main course without being fussy. From the time that our favorite gastronomical tour guide, James, sets down the fresh bread with the black olive tapenade until we lick the last of our tiramisu off of our spoons it is a delicious & delightful ride. Reservations are a must during peak season! read more

Best veal dishes I've had in two years living in Florida on Gulf coast! Came here by accident after picking up my friend from Fort Meyers Airport in the evening. Was looking for another Italian bakery restaurant that was closed and Yelp directed us to Cibo in a shopping mall filled with restaurant recommendations. We managed to get the last table available which was a high top in the bar. We both went for the two different veal dishes...veal Picata and veal grenache sp? They were both fantastic! The owner came over and chatted with us and really made us feel welcomed. read more

We have been there several times and never disappointed. Love the Ricotta Gnocchi and they always seem to have fabulous specials.

Had dinner here tonight with a group of good friends and every one of us loved it! Everything from appetizers to each of our meals was beyond delicious. I had the breaded lobster and shrimp with angel hair pasta in a lemon butter sauce, the dish contained a whole lobster tail, the waiter said it would be 6 ounces but I swear mine was larger than that and the dish was superb as was my desert the chocolate melting cake with vanilla ice cream and cappuccino and even that was special, served with a rock candy stir. The service too was great our waiter Manny was excellent. The place is a bit pricy but well worth it, can't recommend it enough. read more

Went to Cibo for dinner last night with four friends. Each of us ordered something different, and everything was beyond excellent! I had one of the specials - ravioli with lamb and mushroom ragu filling, with a light tomato sauce and spinach. It was the absolute BEST dish I have had in a long time, and we eat out quite a lot! I just had the leftovers for lunch, and it was just as good as last night! The server was excellent, attentive without being overbearing, and drinks were very well done. CIBO has a smaller menu of items that are prepared perfectly, with excellent portions that allow several courses comfortably. The Mahi Mahi was the fresh fish of the day and was cooked to perfection in an amazing broth. House made mozzarella appears in several dishes and is fantastic. Service is attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The excellent food and service would still be a great value at higher prices than the excellent value found here. Craig and his team at Cibo have hit it out of the park again. For some time, Cibo has been our go to for special occasions and when visitors are in town. Craig and his staff always make the evening a night to remember. We went this evening for our date night and once again, Cibo exceeded our expectations. Our server Jimmy was attentive and confidently informative but never cloying. He recommended the ever delicious ricotta gnocchi with porcini cream. It's a winner every time. Pillowy and tender with the right umami kick. We also enjoyed the surprising tuna with avo and wonton for a starter. We didn't expect this dish to come out of the kitchen at Cibo but much like the rest of the menu; it was stunningly delish. Our mains (sea bass and ravioli) were equally stunning. Fabulous conversation with Craig (the owner) made for an even more spectacular date night. We enjoyed a glass of Cloudline Pinot after our meal outside where the service and attention to detail rivaled that of our meal inside-a perfect cap to a wonderful evening. We love Cibo. read more

This place is amazing! The service was fantastic, food great, even the bathrooms are cool. The only thing they could improve is location. You would never expect something so great in a strip mall. Time to move to a free standing building or in gulfcoast or coconut point. Great stuff though!! read more

Went to dinner here with my wife on vacation. She got the spaghetti bolognese, and I got the spaghetti and meatballs. My wife and I sampled each other meals and they both were awesome. The meatballs were huge and so delicious. The bread was hot and fresh. We did split a Spumoni cannoli and it was ok. My wife enjoyed it more than me, I thought it was a bit dry. Our service was awesome and our server was super friendly and even helped us with some questions we had about the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We enjoyed a very good meal here for our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. Our server, Carmen, was truly exceptional. She was extremely attentive, professional, polite and throughout our meal made sure that every piece of silverware and glass was perfectly placed and replaced as necessary. All of our food was extremely delicious and presentation was easily several levels above Cibo's humble strip mall location. I would not hesitate to recommend Cibo to friends and family and will definitely request Carmen on our next visit. read more

This is a high caliber dining spot.Fo I had 14 ounce double pork chop and it was tender and juicy--topped with wine Demi glazewine sauce, and cooked exactly as I requested it had a side of mashed potatoes An appetizer I had 3 large shrimp on crostini in a lemon wine sauce and roasted asparagus:they were amazing. My husband had a special of 3 cheese raviolis in a cream sauce. He thought portion was small. Again they what are cooked exactly as he ordered and were decadent!! read more

We celebrated our anniversary at CIBO last evening. It was our first visit after hearing several good reviews of the restaurant. We weren't disappointed. We enjoyed cocktails (great drink service by Pepe) at the bar and then a delicious dinner in the dining room. The gnocchi appetizer was outstanding and the veal marsala was delicious. The Tiramasu dessert was wonderful, too. James was our waiter and he was professional, friendly and fun, which added to the enjoyment of our special evening. The owner even stopped by to introduce himself. A lovely atmosphere, too. We'll definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly, local and delicious! read more

We go here periodically for special occasions, and have never been disappointed. Our last meal was spectacular - great service (our waiter had been there for several years), good atmosphere, and wonderful food. I do not recall what everyone else had, but I had a ribeye in a peppercorn source that was as good as I have ever had, really exceptionally tasty as well as tender. And a good size portion (I tend to have a big appetite). They are a bit pricey, but unlike many similar priced places that are just ordinary once you get there, they give you great food and a memorable experience. We also went there a year or so ago for a small party, they gave us our own small room, and terrific service. Everyone had a wonderful time, and unlike some group experiences, we were served quickly and all nearly the same time. Definitely worth a visit; don't let the strip mall setting give you any pause.
