Cider Bite consistently impresses me. My friend and I will come every few months and share flights before we go out on the town. The flights are reasonably priced, and come with SO much cider, 6 glasses! So much bang for your buck. It's always a good spot to pre-game because of the quantity, cost, and the alcohol content of most of the ciders are moderate to high! A very chill environment with a ton of ciders on tap. I would definitely recommend going with a group or with a date because there's plenty of group seating and private seating. Also, they let you bring in outside food so that's pretty awesome. They separate their cinders by sweetness so everything is pretty self explanatory. My friend and I stopped into Cider Bite after a hike up in Washington Park. She had seen it while walking by a few times, and wanted to give it a go. I don't know if Cider Bite or Portland Cider House came first, but I can say that I tend to lean towards Portland Cider House more. Now this isn't to say Cider Bite isn't great on its own. There was a fair sized menu of ciders. I was partial to the Pacific Pineapple. We didn't grab anything to eat. Cider pours for the 6-flight is worth the price. Downside was that they were out of 4 ciders, but that's only incentive to go back and try them because they must have been good! There's an upcharge for certain cider samples ($1.50 as of 8/26/18). It's pretty small, but it was okay for a slow Sunday afternoon. Bathroom was clean, and service was great. She was even patient when we accidentally ordered some ciders that were out of stock, after she'd already given us a list of the empty kegs. Give it a shot. But if you're looking for a slightly bigger menu, and a little more space to relax, head over to Portland Cider House on Hawthorne. read more

Cool spot for cider! Everything was delicious here. The cidery itself is on the smaller side and is a bit more intimate. There's TVs, games and a lot of high tables. This place has soooo many cider options! I love the variety. There's some that I've never heard of like a guava cider (which was amazing) and tamarind (also very very good). They also have some okay appetizers/shareables. But I definitely recommend maybe getting something to eat before coming here since their options aren't very big and cost quite a bit for the size. Very laid back feel, you can definitely bring a small or big group of friends here even though the space isn't too big. There are also lots of games available to play. We came across this gem of a cider company by accident and were so happy to have seen the sandwich sign at the corner of 13th and Hoyt or we would have kept walking. I'm not the biggest fan of cider (it's usually really high in alcohol content and goes down like candy, which is deliciously dangerous) but I like checking new places out and had time to slowly take in a cider before driving home. What we ended up getting was the flights of 4 for $9 and it did not disappoint! I think we had about 25 flavor options but I went for the peach, pear, Thai ginger & the pineapple. The peach was my favorite, because the flavor was so true and fresh. Next was the pineapple, which was equally tasty. The pear was good but it tasted like cider and not so much like pear. The Thai ginger was good too, but didn't have as much bite as I like ginger to have. That said, I had a blast sampling these flavors, as well as all the berry ciders my friends chose. If you like trying flights (large ones at that!) of and have an open mind towards ciders, this really is the place to check out. read more

Not only do they have plenty of seating options for parties of all sizes, they provide a variety of games to play to bring out that competitive spirit. Highly recommend the flights. You can choose either a set of four or six, and they're about 5oz each. Jaime and I each did a selection of four so that we could try a variety of things before committing to something more. I also really liked that they offered full and half pints so you could decide on how messy you wanted to be when you left. Favorites were the Sweet Aged Apple, Peach, Guardian Angel, and Strawberry. Flavors we weren't so crazy about: Lavender, Ginger Spritz and Chocolate Raspberry. Service was great and I liked the chill atmosphere. We ended up spending a few hours there since we were involved in a very tense game of UNO that seemed to go on forever, but it was the perfect way to sip and enjoy everything that we ordered. My sister had talked about this place so I was really excited to check it out with her. We went last night and our drinks did not disappoint. I got the Vanilla Bean and we both got limoncello ciders and they were absolutely delicious! There were so many options for a wide variety of tastes for ciders and some cider alternatives as well. I like that they had dry options as well as sweet and the cider cocktails were such a fun option as well. I definitely want to come back and do a tester flight and try more flavors. So happy there is somewhere with more cider options than beer as cider is my preferred drink whenever I can get my hands on it. Me and my husband arrived right at 4 when it opened and were so excited to get out of the cold. We ordered the 6 cider flight and a 4 cider flight after the first and it was a great choice. The ability to try so many different things is such a great option, we tried almost everything on the menu. My favorite ciders were the strawberry cider and the vanilla bean cider! If you dont have a big sweet tooth they might not be for you but man they were the best things ever for me! I've been obsessed with hard cider lately, and was so happy to stumble upon this cider tap room! We got the flight of 6 ciders to share, but there were 24 varieties to choose from. The peach and pineapple flavors were the most fragrant and seemed to have the most distinct tastes. The "cherried away" flavor was also quite good, and reminded me of pie but wasn't sickeningly sweet. The loganberry and blackberry flavors were more subtle. Great place to stop by after dinner for a couple drinks, but definitely not an end-your-night kind of place for most people. We almost didn't enter because the door was shattered in a hundred places, with a sign that said "do not touch the glass." I'm glad we mustered the courage to use the handle though! I really liked that the bar wasn't too crowded and that I didn't have to raise my voice to have a conversation. Their menu is split into sweet and semi-sweet beers, and we tried a combination by ordering a flight with passion fruit, peach, orange blossom, and honey lavender. My favorite was the passion fruit! Honey lavender seems to be a popular Portland flavor, but I would not recommend it since it doesn't taste like much of anything in beer. The best part is that they have board games! UNO, Scrabble, and many more. For those looking for a chill post-dinner drink place, Cider Bite is the place to go. I absolutely loved Cider Bite! We stumbled upon it while looking for a drink in the Pearl District. Waking in, the lobby was really small, but had a great atmosphere. We sat at a table and our server was awesome! He came and explained his favorite ciders as well as the crowd favorites. We all got the flights which was an awesome deal! I want to preface my review by saying that I no longer drink Cider, so I can't attest to any flavors or the offerings available personally. My husband and I met a group here prior to a movie for some cider. I wasn't feeling like a drink, especially when I saw the huge flight he got when his order came out. They give you really healthy pours for a flight! The ciders on tap were numerous and sorted from sweet to dry. The menu was easy to navigate and my husband found six great ciders to try. The boards used by Cider Bite were beautifully crafted, and I loved how they presented the ciders. It is a really cool place to hang out with a chill vibe. Being that we needed a quick bite too, we had grabbed a pizza and the staff was totally cool with us consuming it as long as we cleaned up our mess (understandably so.) We had a large party and had great, attentive service and everyone enjoyed their cider and the atmosphere. I would definitely go back again with my husband since he loves his cider. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I am a huge fan of cider and the variety and quality that I found here is unparalleled. Get the flight of six - my person favorite was probably the peach. I came here with a few friends and the taster trays are extremely top heavy... my friend ended up accidentally knocking one of her ciders over and it was a domino effect, knocking over half the tray. When asked if we could get it replenished, our rude server said no, and that she couldn't do it for free (like anyone else would). She said their trays have been working for them the whole time they were in business and completely dismissed our problem. I get it that it was our fault we spilled, but any other business would've worked with us to clean up the mess (which we cleaned up ourselves with many towels and napkins) and replaced the tasters for free. Mind you, they were tasters and not full drinks. This was one of our first stops for the day, trying to show an out of town guest a good time, so we hadn't drank beforehand and we were definitely not a rowdy bunch. Had we been, I could see why she wouldn't work with us on getting the tasters replenished. Update: someone who I'd imagine has to be a friend of Angela or maybe a family member (this is a family owned business) decided to post on my review that I was "fat trash" and again that I was "white trash"... The staff is always welcoming (we even got to sit and chat with the owner one evening & he was great!), the ciders change enough that you can always try something new, and the variety is big enough that I can always fill a flight and find a new favorite. When planning my trip to visit Portland again, I marked Cider Bite as a must try. I'm not much of a beer person but I do love beer cider! My boyfriend says I love anything that tastes like juice therefore Cider Bite was the perfect spot for me! It was easy to find and located across the street from a parking lot. I can't recall how much parking was for a Friday night but I just remember it was quite pricey. (We did get our money worth by paying it forward in passing on our parking ticket to another person who entered the lot to use.) Its a really small spot and not crowded at all for a weekend night. We got there a little bit before dinnertime and there was only one other group there. They have such a HUGE selection of ciders in which I never even knew so many existed! Between my boyfriend and I, we shared a flight which was really reasonable at $12 for 6 tastings. The have a VERY LONG extensive list of ciders in which u write down the ones you want to try on a piece of paper. I wish that I could've squeezed in another flight but we had to make it to dinner. Service was great! They would come up to us to get our order in and leave us alone unless we had to waive them down for something.
