The food is always fresh and the table side guacamole can't be beat! The servers are attentive and available

My visits to Cielito Mexican Restaurant has been through out a handful of years. I have been during times of a couple different managers. A constant I have noticed is the food. This is some great authentic Mexican food that is not found easily in the New England area. They got some great recipes and I think the portions to these meals are rather fair for the price. However the most recent couple of times have been rather disappointing. One day the meal can be as great as it was a handful of years ago and the next time can just be disappointing, which is really unfortunate because it really is some good solid food. The atmosphere is great, not overwhelming, sometimes on busy nights it can get difficult to move around the building. I have always recognized the dining areas to be very clean including the bar, and the bathrooms as well. Jumping back on to the new management, there's all new employees. The most recent time I have been here I was not given any silverware or plates. Chips and salsa were served as well at the menus. The waiter returned with some waters and left to go elsewhere. The wait times in between visits were definitely too long, and we never were asked what we wanted for drinks. The waiter did not understand very well, which is okay, except the fact he also did not bother having a note pad to write down the order. About 10 minutes after putting in our order the waiter returned saying our order back to us and managed to get every meal incorrect. He again did not have any note pad to help remember since he originally forgot. When the food came out a different server brought it out. We had to request silverware again, drinks and two plates of food were missing, so we asked for that. The response was "I don't think it was ever put in". That server never came back and we never received the missing food. After eating for about 20 minutes the original waiter came out to retrieve empty plates and took about another 20 minutes for him to come back so the check could be requested. The major flaw here was the service and the food wasn't as great as it could be. Although the recipes to the food are good, the cleanliness of the building is good, the service really made this most recent experience uncomfortable. This is a restaurant I like to visit often to see if throughout managers, the food remains the same. I have seen better days and wish for those days to come back into play. I do recommend here because if you get a good day, it's a meal to remember. read more

Drinks, food & atmosphere are always great when we go. Love the habanero pineapple margarita!

The best thing about this restaurant is the staff. There were 2 young people working and they were so friendly and attentive. They really were nice kids. I got the burrito which was actually pretty big and tasted ok. The house margaritas were pretty bland and not very good. Maybe the other non-premix margaritas are better. I wouldn't return but it was worth a try while I was in the area. read more

Discovered this gem on our way home from hiking in the White Mountains. The place is nicely decorated and the staff was very welcoming. Our server was helpful with his recommendations for drinks and dinner. I had the tacos (carnitas) and they were happy to accommodate my request for grilled veggies vs rice and beans. My partner had the carne asada entree which was tender and tasty. Combined with our pineapple margaritas - we had a yummy lunch! Definitely recommend trying this spot. read more

My lady and I tried this place after being told the food was "pretty decent" but a "little pricey" and being that it's the only Mexican place around we felt obligated to test the waters, I must say we were not disappointed! Though we got lucky and found a spot just before it got packed, the food took a long while to come out. The free chips and salsa definitely put a bandaid on the wait, and the mixed drinks weren't half bad! When the food finally came out it was tasty and filling, I cannot wait to try out more of their menu. The staff was okay, the manager needs some work. Everyone can say what they like about whether their food was good, or poor, but it is meaningless, if they are a bad neighbor. They are, in my opinion, the worst thing that has happened to this neighborhood. The owners purchased the house behind the restaurant, and the employees live there. They are seemingly, super inconsiderate, thoughtless, and only care about themselves, whether they are at the house behind the restaurant, or the restaurant, itself. They walk around after 11pm like it is broad daylight. They hoot, holler, do yard work at midnight, like it is noontime. When they throw trash in the dumpster, after 11pm, its like bombs going off. Midnight, 1 am, 2 am, no difference to them. They had Mexican music blaring at 2 am, at the restaurant. The light trespass, whether it be from the monstrosity that they created at the restaurant, or the spotlight they have shining from the house, light up the houses, and backyards of the adjacent properties, feels violating. Now, I know a lot of people may feel this isn't relevant, and just want their food, because it isn't happening to them, but would you want this happening to you? Business social responsibility, is important. PS, I have eaten there, once, when they were new, and it tasted like fast food, considering the price, I expected more. That was when they had better management, and they were quiet after 11 pm. read more

Amazing Mexican food. The cheese dip is like none other. Not just another bowl of cheese but fresh made on a skillet and brought to the table. Drinks are to die for, not too boozy, but just the perfect boozy. Been here a couple times now, my only complaint is their not close enough to my residence. Looking forward to many more visits when I visit my daughter. read more

Besides not getting any sauce, paying the bill after I requested to pay early on a takeout order and getting the food before the bill and not getting extra steak in my burrito after I offerered to pay extra I gave this place 5 stars. The steak tacos and steak burrito was actually perfect. I would highly recommend this place. By far the best place in the area. I wish I could have tried the sauce...but will make sure to ask next time I go there. read more

Terribly overrated. We ordered a meal with shrimp, and the shrimp were tiny. The food was bland. The ambience was fine. The drinks weren't very strong. Perhaps we our expectations were too high. If we wanted Taco Bell food, we could have gone to Taco Bell and saved a bunch of money. read more

It is refreshing to have such authentic Mexican food and amazing margaritas in Bristol NH! The staff and owners all could not be more friendly! The fresh table-side guacamole fresco is delicious as well as the Celito dip. The burritos and enchiladas are both tasty and very filling. The taco menu is a great way to enjoy many of the different flavors of the restaurant and I realy like the way the refried beans are served in a little corn tortilla cup. Ole' We have been here now 3 times in the last 3 weeks. Looking forward to a getting there when the new mariachi band will be playing too. read more

My husband and I love this place! Fresh guacamole made to your liking (table-side), very friendly staff, and excellent food. I hope this place is always here! Such a great option in a mostly pizza and subs kind of neighborhood. The picture is our empty guacamole bowl...because I was too busy eating to take a picture. Year round residents, give them a try! We usually go around lunchtime, so I'm not sure how busy they get around dinner. read more

I came here lured by the good reviews and pictures from other patrons on Yelp. I really didn't have high expectations since almost every Mexican restaurant place here in the US serves TEX-MEX food which they advertise as Mexican -wrong-. I started with the fresh guacamole and planned to order something else after that. The guacamole was so amazing, delicious, and enough for like two maybe three people I could not order anything else. Next time there I ordered tacos, and in my subsequent visits, I have ordered almost every item from their menu. Never got disappointed. This place serves superb 'Mexican' food. Not TEX-MEX, not full Mexican, but something in the middle that makes it unique and worth a visit. Too bad I don't live in New Hampshire anymore or this would be probably my every weekend stop. Never got to try their food. The service was less than the one star given. I took my grandson for a motorcycle ride up through the white mountains. We had been wanting to stop at this restaurant since they opened last year. The day was perfect..hot, sunny..we parked and walked to the door/ patio entrance with anticipation of a nice lunch & grandfather/grandson time. The sign said to check in w server before entering patio seating..so we waited..and waited..and waited. Servers blindly bustled past us going in & out ..no one ever said a word to us, or smiled or acknowledged us in any way. After about 10 minutes, we walked inside the door...exactly the same lack of acknowledgment or basic courtesy..but indoors. After another 10 minutes of being ignored, we stepped back outside...waited a few more minutes & I finally stopped a waitress going past us who appeared a little put out about being interrupted. I asked what the process was to get a seat ..she then informed me she was expecting "a large party" and didnt think there would be any seats available for us. A simple, we are really busy or it will be a long wait or any other customer service would have been much better than blowing off a 9 year old kid with his grandfather. We went elsewhere to eat...will definitely never make another visit to this business & will share this experience with any of my friends & acquaintances who live or visit this area. I live a couple of towns away from Bristol, am a NH & Lakes Region native, I work in Massachusetts, so my friends/associates/acquaintances are both local & regional..I'm inclined to spoil my family with frequent dining out..I'd like to thank the staff for the early indication of being unwelcome at their establishment...saves s lot of time & needless humiliation read more

Small Town with Big Flavor! The Cielito Mexican Restaurant was a quaint establishment in the small town of Bristol, New Hampshire. The restaurant was very clean and the service we received was really friendly. My husband had the Torte Sandwich and said that he really liked it. I had the chicken chimichanga and it was delicious. I really liked that the entrée came with black beans because I'm not a huge fan of refried beans and you seldom get black beans with Mexican cuisine. I found this place on Yelp & was looking forward to eating there on our vacation. My dad who is 65 & doesn't eat Mexican (or ever use Yelp) often told me get on Yelp & tell people how good it was! I was planning to anyway. The food was so good! Everything seemed fresh & had a pretty presentation. They were super fast in getting us whatever we needed, even though the place was packed. Alexa made our guacamole table side .... Yummy. Lunch today, California burrito fed 2 , pork/carnitas enchiladas with Chile verde sauce, this was excellent. Beautiful presentation, great service and excellent food. We drive 40 minutes to eat here. Margaritas excellent, dessert Sopapillas with honey, cinnamon & sugar. Spectacular poblano soup. The menu has the usual items expected of a kitschy Mexican restaurant, but that is what most of the American public expects. Mexican cuisine is amazingly complex and delicious. I am always on the lookout for creative Mexican chefs. Rural New Hampshire is not likely to attract creative ethnic chefs, however. Cielito is a solid and above average Mexican restaurant and local watering hole. read more

Incredible, actually authentic food. Best Mexican food I've ever had in New Hampshire. I've spent a ton of time on the Gulf of Mexico cultivating a love for Mexican cuisine (and also working). And I must say that the carne asada at El Cielito rivals anything I've tasted in Florida, Texas and Southern California. Their house made hot sauce (Diablo sauce) is incredible--fresh, delicious, and actually spicy. Finding a truly spicy house made sauce is difficult to find anywhere, let alone a 5 minute drive from one of the cleanest lakes in the United States. But most impressive of all, perhaps, was the not to sweet, fresh house margarita. I was truly impressed and will be back whenever I'm in the Lakes Region! read more

Unfortunately we didn't get to try the food because we were turned away from a waiter. My friend and I both have service animals, and asked to sit on the patio with them (which was empty) and were told to go ahead and sit when we walked in. I had also called ahead to make sure it was okay to come with the dogs, and was told yes. As we sat down the waiter came over and immediately asked for their service animal papers. Firstly, it's against federal law to ask for documentation and the only questions we should have been asked: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. .We were asked neither, and simply turned away when my friend was unable to provide her papers on hand. It was embarrassing, and discriminatory and we will not be returning. I'd discourage anyone with a service animal of any kind to bring business to this establishment. We are now however enjoying a lovely lunch at the Big Catch with both our service animals enjoying a burger. highly recommendTHE BIG CATCH read more

This place was ok, not great. We probably won't return because the food and drinks were not very good. We tried a few different tequila cocktails but all of them had way too much lime juice. The food was decent but kind of plain. The best part about this place was the staff. They were all very friendly and service with a smile goes a long way in my book :) read more
