This is a classy little place! Granted I've only gotten delivery but you can tell from their custom paper delivery bags that have their restaurant logo right down to the wet napkins, that this establishment takes pride in their presentation and how it runs it's business. Cinar is not the go to restaurant in cliffside park. Everything here is slightly less than others around, except price. I came in alone for a lunch to test this place out. Beyti kebab is a rare dish and even rarer to find well made. In this case, it did not do well. Beyti kebab has 3 parts that are crucial, a very thin buttery bread to wrap the kebab, a thin red sauce to dress the bread, and plenty of yogurt to eat it with. None of the above was on this dish. The bread was thicker than a tortilla wrap, leaving this kebab bite to be mostly dry bread. The red sauce tasted like canned tomato paste. The yogurt, only a few spoons, I had to ask for more, (which I saw the waiter squeeze out of a condiment bottle, not a good sign). The dish set me back 25$, 10$ more than what a dish that big is worth, 15$ more than a dish that taste is worth. All in all, service was ok and so was the atmosphere, but what's the point of a restaurant of the food isn't just as good? Even after telling the waiter my dish was disappointing, all I got was "would you like it wrapped up to go?", I said "no thank you" and asked for the check. Would not recommend. read more

The beef Adana that came along with an onion salad, slices of flat bread that had a red smoky and nutty sauce that was something to write home about. We went to the restaurant because it was convenient but we had a very bad experience with the meal. We ordered two sorts of dishes as cold appetizers that were overcooked but still OK. The main dish came about 30 seconds after the appetizers so we had to hurry up! We had ordered lamb kebab. The rice was cold and the green leaves without any dressing. The lamb was dry, very hard and chew, served almost as cold as the rice so it was already pre-cooked. Our complaint was ignored and we had no feedback or apology at all, which is the worst thing a restaurant can do. That was an expensive bad meal. Stay away from this terrible place. read more

The place was kind of dark for dinner time. I like the interiors with Turkish style lamps. Ambience was good. Food wasn't tasty!!! We thought the kebabs to taste good but no....their was no taste in the meat...just bland and oily. I wouldn't pay so much to eat that kind of food!!! They charge the gratuity before giving the check. In a neighborhood full of Turkish restaurants, this place definitely stood out. We ordered take-out so I can't speak for interior, service, etc. but the food was delicious! Chicken kebabs and liver cubes were tender and full of flavor, shepherd salad was the right level of zesty and salty, and the rest of the food tasty. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the babaganoush, which was not as smoky and creamy as other places, and was closer to just ground eggplant with olive oil. Simpler and perhaps healthier, but not as good as some of the other places. Otherwise a great place! Will definitely go visit them next time, instead of take-out. read more

Where do I start?? This place is amazing! Just what we need in this neighborhood (a restaurant that actually serves good food--Authentic amazing turkish food). I've been here a handful of times and have tried a few things: The Bronzino (tiny bit overcooked but the garlic butter sauce and the char on the fish make up for it -- also great price for a whole fish) Manti: Tiny doughy meat filled pillows of goodness smothered in a yogurt sauce The lamb shish is the best shish! But the others are good as well - Super flavorful adana, meat patties and chicken. As far as appetizers: The hummus is amazing as is the babaganoush I get a large shephard salad with feta every time because I can't live without it for too long. Oh and the desserts! The baklava is incredible and the custard is seriously amazing. Tunch (the owner) greats everyone that comes in, so it feels like your a guest in his home and not like you're just at some restaurant. Second, the service seemed angry. Water glass was slammed, and overall seemed unhappy to be serving my party. Lastly, the food was great but the charm wasn't there this time. Some of the best Turkish food, I've ever had. Definitely my new go to spot around town for kebabs! Also their hummus is a must. Cute spot for lunch or dinner dates, moderate seating so small groups is probably best. Only down fall would be finding parking. Food wise, everything I've had exceeded my expectations. Well what I have to say. I travelled 1 hour and 20 min to this restaurant because of social media post. Big mistake.The decor was mediocre the drinks were very limited and the food was not anything as the videos and pictures are. And can I say I paid $240 for a 3 adults and 1 child and 1 of the entrees that I specifically ordered and asked if it was similar to a lamb gyro was told yes just had yogurt on It I specifically told the waiter to please make sure no yogurt on the plate please and the plate came with yogurt on it.The owner/manager actually wrapped it to take it home & didn't even ask if there was a reason it was not even touched. My sisters entree was a lentil soup I had a order of mantee and a order of lamb chops 3 dips 1 salad to share order of fries a 3 orders of burek. Definitely not worth almost $240 FYI the same exact food at 2 other locations in Brooklyn and staten island came out to just under $200 Definitely not going again and won't be referring any of my friends and family.As far as looking like having fun thru cameras when we as a family are together we are a family we have fun like have fun. For the drink aspect u don't think it is odd that 4 people 2 drinks we asked for ice tea and they said we don't have. Today I was tasked with finding a restaurant and ordering lunch delivery for my 10+ coworkers and boss. They are a super picky group so it had to be a great place. I live in the neighborhood so am familiar with many restaurants but the request was that I find a new place that we had not ordered from yet. This place was a huge hit . Rave reviews. Went back and gave this place another try. Huge improvement in the service. Got a menu as we were seated and drinks and bread came out right away. The bread is nice and soft and accompanies some appetizers very well. Ordered the spicy eggplant salad (it's really not a salad) and it was awesome, went really well with the bread. Didn't get the hummus this time, but that is still really a must-have. For the entree, ordered the mix kebab platter and everything was really great. The lamb, meat patties, chicken, and adana were all excellent and would definitely get it again. Only bad thing is that they run out of bulgur all the time! It's a replacement for rice and my gf says its good, better than the rice, and the times I've been here, they don't have it! I want to try this bulgur! I want it more now that they keep running out of it.. what a tease. Overall, great food here, their service has gotten much better with funny banter from the waiter.
