I wish they'd get their s~~t together here. I like the food but the service is terrible. The last 2 times we went they either screwed up our order or took forever to bring it out. Also, they made us wait and then wait some more to get our check. I talked some friends into going here and they liked the food but the service was so bad they refuse to go back. My wife and I eat here maybe once a week for a lunch or dinner. That should tell you that we enjoy the food that much. No we are not Mexican in fact we are from New England where you're lucky if you can find a Toco Bell and I don't consider that as Mexican food. We had a group of 5 come in at 9pm 3 adults 2 kids. We were seated right next to the bar which was fine our server came & got our drinks she wasn't sure if we could get our margaritas frozen or not because they turn them off close to close. It was Saturday so they don't close till 11. We got our drinks in a timely manner and we placed our order. We waited 40 minutes before asking the server who hasn't even checked on us to go check and see where our food is since doing her side work was more important .They only had 4 tables in the whole restaurant. A 2 top table walks in and the server gave them the cold shoulder and they chose to leave as well. Someone came from the kitchen and delivered our food and set them in front of the kids without a warning that they were super hot . It was obvious that the food has been sitting there for a while because the rice was crispy , the lettuce was wilted , and the enchilada was chewy . One of the orders was wrong and when asked to fix the mistake the server rolled her eyes and pulled out her server pad to look at it . After we dug Into our other plates we all agreed it was not up to par & after debating I decided to flag my server down and say something which again she rolls her eyes and said this is what you ordered and I again had to explain I know but it isn't good and you can tell it had sat for awhile . She then walks away to get the manger . Which I could see was upset when she was explaining what was going on and he comes to the table & again tells me that is what I ordered and asked if I've ordered or been there before . I said yes I've came here many times and again he asks if I've ordered this before and has me explain 3 times what is wrong with both of our orders . He said he will see what he can do and walks away . After this we wait 25 minutes for our checks which we had to flag down another server to receive because our server is no where to be found. We ask where our server is and the server at the table said she was in the back doing side work. Our server nor the manger never checks back with us. As leaving the host is sweeping the front door and doesn't stop as we try to get by and I let her know we won't be back the host rolls her eyes and says bye bye .All around this was a horrible experience and we will not be back . read more

I've had good experiences here and bad experiences. Sometimes good service, sometimes TERRIBLE service. I feel like with this place you never know what you're gonna get. They have $1 taco's on Tuesday's and Thursday's so it's always pretty busy when I've gone. But you can tell that employee's don't work together, and have no idea what they are doing during the busy time. The food here is delicious; big portions and great prices. My favorite thing to order is the jalisco fajitas: It's basically the perfect mix of steak,.chicken and shrimp tossed with red peppers, green peppers and onions served with refried beans, rice and a plate of tomato, lettuce, shredded cheese, and guacamole (I always order an extra side of guac because it is literally just a scoop). Oh right, and the tortillas which if I am feeling healthy I skip. I only gave this place 4 stars because their guacamole simply isn't the best in texture; it tastes great but it's almost like a puree. The food was worth a 3.5 but it was the overall experience was just eh- We ate here before a concert and there was now other table occupied before we got there. 2 other couples came in as we ate. The food was really good. I had a fajita steak salad. The meat was seasoned just right and very tender. The only thing wrong was there was no dressing at all offered or brought to me, and we ran out of salsa so I couldn't even use it as a condiment. My husband ordered a steak quesadilla and loved it. Our friends ordered the shrimp quesadilla and the beef tacos. Everything was very tasty. The chips were good but would've been better if they had been a little warm. The salsa was average and in my opinion needed either some cilantro or a little kick. The guacamole tasted like mashed avacado- no flavor just eh. As far as drinks, I ordered a Diet Coke and they brought me a diet Pepsi. That was a bit disappointing. My husband had a seven and seven double tall. His first drink looked like pure sprite. They were very weak on pouring the alcohol. The waiter was friendly but not very attentive. The bathrooms were clean. The employees I encountered on the way to the bathroom were very nice. I was here for a quick stop while driving through Florida. Their pina coladas were so good that I had two. The carnitas tacos were delicious, and the burrito California was also very good. OK, grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable! The High points: Prices are very reasonable, as is typical for most Mexican restaurants. Service was excellent. Willie is an excellent server! Portions are huge! You won't go away hungry. Ya strapped in? OK, here we go... When you first walk in you are greeted by a sign that advertises "Happy Hour" from 2-5 P.M. That was the first of what turned out to be several head-scratchers. I've never heard of a place whose Happy Hour is ENDING just as the bulk of the population is just getting off of work? Note to Management/Marketing: If you want to draw the "After-Work" crowd, I would recommend re-evaluating your "Happy Hour" and aligning to that of your competitors. Led to our table, sit down and open the menu's. Nothing remarkable until you realize what ISN'T there. Credit where credit is due: I didn't notice it, my wife did. She was craving Tortilla Soup which, conventional wisdom usually dictates, is pretty standard fare. No Soup For You!! No options at all on the menu, even when asked. Note to Management: Recommend adding soup choices to your menu. Order a salad instead. Given a choice of TWO dressings: Ranch or Creamy Italian. Right out of the Kraft bottle, and the quantity (about 1 tablespoon) was lacking. Not bad, but I have bottles of those in the fridge. Note to Management: Salad dressing, especially when you charge extra for extra, is cheap and a HUGE profit margin. Expand the choices and broaden the market. Drinks. I ordered Iced Tea. Didn't really notice it at first...until the straw sank all the way into the glass. The Length of the straw is the same as the height of the glass. Enough said. Note to management: It's little, silly things like these. By itself, it's nothing. When added to a list of other little, silly things, well....they do add up, as they did here. Chips and salsa. Chips OK, Salsa, it seemed to me, was out of a jar, with a little bit of heat added. It was OK, but with a little love and fresh ingredients, could be so much more. Cali Burrito and Chimichanga: Same comment. Wasn't BAD, but I expected more. Again, they culd BE much more with a little love and some fresh ingredients. Bottom line: this place advertised their GRAND OPENING, and as such, we had high expectations that they were going to bring their "A" Game. WE made the choice to come in...it's up to you to bring us BACK, and food that is just OK isn't going to do that. I wish Cinco de Mayo the best of luck. read more

Somewhere between 2.5 to 3 stars for this one. The food was good, not outstanding, but good. The problem was the service. The waiter took our order and then disappeared. We didn't see him again until we were done (and our drinks were empty) when he brought the check. We asked for a box and he said he would get it, but he never did. I am so happy we decided to eat here because it was the best Mexican food I've had in Jacksonville. I ordered #22 for $8.99. It came with a burrito, a taco, and a chile relleno. I am very very very picky about chile relleno's because they're usually soggy. You could tell this chile relleno was cooked fresh. It was the best relleno I've ever had! I read all the reviews about terrible service and was confused. We received great service (which I'm also very picky about). The only "negative" comment would be that the food took a little bit longer than typical Mexican places, however, the restaurant was a little busy and the food was obviously JUST cooked.
