When making the reservation, I was told they had "bottles" of margaritas; one bottle would serve four people. But when everyone was seated I was told we had to order individual margaritas so that more than doubled my bill because those margaritas are about $17 per drink. I didn't want to make my guests feel uncomfortable so I didn't argue with the server. But believe me I know I won't be hosting any more lunches there. I got ripped off. read more

PASSION FRUIT MARGARITAS!! They are an absolute must! I've been here a handful of times now and have not once been disappointed. The passion fruit margaritas are delicious and strong! I get two every time and they get the job done! I'd definitely suggest coming here during happy hour (3-7pm mon-sat). They have a good variety of items to choose from on their HH menu. I also would recommend coming here on Saturdays too! They have a special HH brunch menu from 11am-3pm and then at 3pm you can switch to their regular HH menu which includes $1 tacos! (So pretty much HH all day from 11am-7pm on saturdays!) P.S. I found out that their Tues special = Tamale Tuesdays! $3 per tamale :) All of the food I've ordered has been delicious! - spicy pork tamale ($3 on Tuesdays) - has a good kick to it! - chilaquiles (brunch menu) huge portion! This is one of my favorite places to go. My son lives in the LA area and we usually go here on the way to LAX as it close and easy to get to the airport or rental car. The food is great. The bar staff, we always sit at the bar, friendly and fun and they pour a good drink. From the taco's to the chicken soup with a tomato base and a little spice - just good. On our last trip back, we stopped and I ordered chicken wings ( a favorite fun finger food) with sauce on the side , good thing as the sauce was "hot"!, these wings were the best I have had. better than the "best' I get at home. My wife, who does not wings, liked them so much and we ordered a second portion. There is more menu to explore and I look forward to my next LA venture and stopping here on the way home. read more

I understand you want to go home, but when the place doesn't close for another 30 min, please don't tell us to hurry up with our drinks!! Literally every 10 min that passed she came by and told us to hurry with our drinks because it's closing time. 1. We heard you the first time. 2. My friends and I stopped by Cinco for Happy Hour. When I arrived, the place was pretty busy, but it wasn't packed. I liked the layout of Cinco in that the whole place had huge windows that let in the light so it was bright inside. We were seated towards the bathroom but if you're in a group it's not a really good place to sit since everyone is sitting on one row facing the wall. Lucky for us a big table for ten opened up so we moved there and we were able to sit facing each other. (BTW, their big table have hooks for purses!) We were here for happy hour so I was able to try a few of the items on their HH menu. I got the al pastor and chicken tacos and a carnitas burrito. The burrito was okay, but I liked their tacos more. The chicken was okay.. the al pastor taco was great. The tacos were small.. you could easily finish a taco in two bites. :) Next time I come back, I'll probably just order al pastor and carnitas tacos. Oh and the employees there were all friendly. Parking was okay. They have their own lot but since the place was busy all the spots were taken. We easily found street parking though. read more

$1 tacos for happy hour!! That being said, they're not that great. I tried: - Chicken - super dry - Carnitas - super dry - Al pastor - my favorite out of the three I tried The salsas go a long way in making up for the dryness of the tacos though! I recommend putting both the green and red salsas on your taco. I also had one of the HH cocktail specials (the one with the cucumber in it) and I was disappointed that my cucumber slice in the drink wasn't soaked in alcohol. Space is large and we sat in one of the couches in the corner with our group of 6 people. It never got super crowded. The people is a mix of the after work crowd, locals, beach bums/surfers and I don't know who else - its hard to figure it out exactly. Although it did get really really dim in our corner as the sun started to set... they should install a few more lights! Private parking lot - although everything is on a slant so make sure your parking brake is on! read more

My boyfriend lovessss the nacos here and boy oh boy are they packed with flavor! The cóctel de camarón is good too just make sure to add some Tapatío to it, if you like spicy like me! The blend of authentic Mexican and bar food just works here! Everything is delish and seasoned as if my Momma made it (I lived in a Mexican household so I know Mexi food okayyyy) ‍ As far as drinks go, my boyfriend is a total beer guy (stouts are they way to his heart) and I'm more of a cocktail kind of girl (margs and michi's are my thang). I usually get the regular margarita orrrr a michelada with a Pacifico. But let me warn you now, they give cawamas (aka those huge 40z beers that are known to be in brown bags lol) when you order a michi here. Great little spot near my house, Love the happy hour! Pre-covid the tacos were $1 during happy hour which was a no brained! In recent times they have changed it I believe it's 4 tacos for $6 bucks which is still amazing at the cost of $1.25 each. It's a fun, young crowd and the drinks are well worth the price. Cons are that the wait staff can be a bit on the rude side when they get overwhelmed with the crowd and have a tendency to ignore you once the order is in. Also, the burrito is a little skimpy for the price, so if you're looking for more bang for your buck I'd order the tacos 100%. A few recent times going around the last hour of happy hour, I have ignored it seems on purpose to buy time and past the ordering threshold to transition to regular prices. I don't know if that is a way for the servers to think they will get a better tip however I'm more likely tip much higher than the final cost of happy hour due to the low cost and service, quite frankly it's bit of the opposite. read more

My first time coming to cinco and needless to say I was very disappointed. My birthday weekend started with a not so pleasant dinner with my family. 1st off, our drinks were good, that our waitress suggested and she was nice. Then came our food...the queso fundido is not what I expected. It tasted and looked like Tostitos mf nacho cheese that you pour out and heat up. Like seriously, smh. We spoke with the manager (i am hispanic and my husband is white) he talk to me in Spanish as if I didn't know English. Yes! I am Mexican but don't speak to me in Spanish when I know you know I know English and I know you know English. He's going around the other tables speaking English why couldn't he do that to me??? My dinner plate was okay. My daughters food was alright too. But, my husband's order was wrong. They brought out what he didn't order and then took 20 min before the waitress came over and asked, "you still haven't gotten your ceviche." We generously said no. And at this point he didn't want it anymore. They comped our drinks, however the manager never came back around to apologize. In fact, it seemed as he was avoiding us. Oh and not to mention! Came in on a Saturday morning cruda (hangover) looking to replenish some energy with some mariscos. Ordered the aguachiles and was deeply disappointed! Not spicy at all and had no flavor. The sauce looked and tasted like it came out a bottle of tortilla chip salsa. For $16 I expected a lot more. Lil bo Pilsner and Antonio (bartender) were on point! I've been to this restaurant before, but service was really lacking this time around. Cinco finally re-opened their restaurant for dine-in a couple of weeks ago. They made a makeshift patio area for more social distancing. We made reservations for a Saturday dinner for outdoor seating. Once we got there, the hostess was wearing a mask that just covered her mouth but her nose was exposed. hello? She led us to our outdoor table where she explains we can scan the QR barcodes on the table to view the menu from our phone. ok cool. The tables were scattered to create enough social distancing, but the chairs were high bar stools with no backing and very uncomfortable. There were also no heat lamps to provide warmth. Finally a server greets us after 15 minutes and we ask to switch to indoor seating; he said he'll ask his manager and get back to us. We wait another 15 minutes and finally we're seated inside. Once seated inside it takes another 10 minutes for our new waiter to take our orders. SIGH Once the order was placed, our food luckily came out pretty quickly (thank God after waiting about 30 min to be sat indoor). We ordered the Queso fundido, Chicken with Mole, Fish taco plate, and the Sauteed Shrimp plate. The portions were decent but the flavor was really lacking. I was very disappointed. I also ordered the 'Daily ritual drink' but asked to swap out the house vodka with Kettle One. When the waiter came back with my drink, he used his hand to place the lime and told me the drink was already premade from the morning and couldn't switch out the vodka. Wish he told me this sooner. Took my family to Cinco's one night for dinner and booked a reservation online. I showed up early and they were still cool enough to seat us. They have inexpensive options and expensive options. My daughter got an inexpensive option with the taquitos, I got a pozole and my son went all out and got the NY steak plate for $28. His plate was loaded and the food was so authentic that it had its own natural flavoring like the recipes were homemade. If I could give it 10 stars I would. The food was that good. Let me start by saying how awesome this place is! The customer service is amazing. Food is good. Happy hour is a go to! You kinda forget how close you are to the street. We went on a Laker night so we waited for maybe 30min no big deal they had reservations. Which I didn't know we can make. Note to self. I had the street tacos (4 for $5) barbacoa & carnitas. So good! They should come with a slice of lime but no biggy we got some. The salsa was just right on the spice. The barbacoa was my favorite. Nice & juicy good flavor & portions are generous. The carnitas was also yummy not dry at all again just a little lime & salsa needed. The margaritas are also delish!! And for $9 why not. Ok now to some of things that can be changed/fixed whatever... we waited out front as we had a drink but the sitting there was not the cleanest & they had no table to set my drink on. Also it's a beautiful space to use for extra sitting. You can easily put 2 tables maybe 3. I for one wouldn't mind eating there. Now the set up they have in the back is beautifully done except for the high bar stools in the front row. We didn't go for the game but since we were there I wanted to see the score every now & again but the 1st row of bar tables blocked everyone's view in the back. Maybe those can be switched to regular tables that way everyone has a view of the tv. The last thing was the queso fundido it was not good. Go To HAPPY HOUR $1 Taco Place! They've got a ton of beers on Tap and pretty good selection of specialty drinks as well! You do have to pay for chips and salsa, however it's totally worth it if you get the guacamole as well! They usually refill your chips if you've got some extra salsa and guac left and ask nice ;) definitely recommend if you're around the area!
