Awesome Happy Hour spot with $1 tacos!! Not a fan that you have to pay for chips and salsa, but what are you gonna do? I was meeting a friend for HH around 5:30 and was able to snag the last spot in their small parking lot. Didn't have a reservation, so the hostess sat me at a shared table. I ordered the blue jay way while I waited for my friend and the waitress asked if I wanted chips and salsa, so I said sure. The drink was good and the chips and salsa were tasty. My friend got there and ordered a beer. We both got all three of the meat tacos, there was also a soy option. I think my favorite was the baracoa, least favorite was the chicken. My friend really like the el pastor and ordered another two tacos. Also got another chips and salsa. We both ordered the elderflower spritz which was really good. Really good spot for HH! read more

I know most items pictured on yelp are their tacos and burritos because of their happy hour price appeal, but you guys - don't sleep on their Oaxacan dishes, namely their memelas and tlayuda. SO. GOOD. On a separate occasion I also ordered their taquitos and wings (the tamarind sauce used to coat the wings is insane) - both items were great. But let's talk about the memelas first: the thick corn tortilla/patty is deliciously crisp and filled with incredibly flavorful beans, veg and we got ours with carnitas. Top with some of their red salsa and done. Their tlayuda will feed 2-3 people for sure. We got ours with barbacoa and it was delicious. Next time you're craving both pizza and Mexican food - get the tlayuda. It won't disappoint. Or even if you don't know what you're craving and you just want good food. Get the tlayuda. And the memelas. And the wings. And taquitos. The chefs here know what they're doing and I'm no expert on oaxacan flavors and I've only had it a handful of times but the oaxacan items at Cinco in my opinion are the best items on their menu and I hope to try more of this kind of food. read more

Went here for Taco Tuesday on 2-2-22 expecting to have a nice happy hour. The food was good, but the service was some of the worst I've had in a long while. My gf was the first to order, yet 10-15 min after I got my food, we had to ask where the hell was her chicken tacos??? We also ordered drinks and chips and salsa. My food came out first, then the drinks, then the chips and salsa. That exactly opposite to every other Mexican restaurant that I have eaten at. Also we ordered a set of tacos, during happy hour, to go for her daughter. Well of course that order never was put in, and when we asked about it, we got the check and the tacos were full price! Roughly 2.5 times the cost during happy hour. It took 3 different servers to get the very few items that we ordered. And I even had to bring the money inside because our server passed us multiple times and never once looked at us. Food: Pescatarian here, the IPA beer battered shrimp tacos are to die for, best shrimp tacos I've had, with all the toppings- a slaw, pico, and large portion of guac. Also comes with a mountain of Spanish rice which is nice and moist. Chips are tasty thin cut crispy and nicely salted. I tried their soya burrito and tacos... their soya has a great texture but it's lacking flavor. Drinks: craft beer selection, not too many Mexican beers. There was 1 or 2 groups seated in the entire restaurant yet our food took over 30 minutes to arrive. Service was okay, but they seemed too relaxed to care. Cinco was great! Went last night to try and forget our bad experience elsewhere and cinco really delivered. We only ordered taquitos and a tortilla soup because our main goal was just to have a few drinks and go home. Mission accomplished! My sister ordered a smoky type of margarita, I ordered a Paloma and my mom had a passion fruit marg. Mines was the best! It was fresh and delicious! It was also strong which I can appreciate because if I'm spending money on a drink I expect it to be more than just juice. The service was quick and drinks kept flowing. They have a small parking lot and you'll get lucky if you find a spot. There are huge booths for big groups, bar height tables and regular booths as well. Went to Happy Hour at Cinco on Monday night. The prices are solid and it is a cool space, but the food is very average. Quality: Came to Cinco for Happy Hour and the College Football Championship game. The prices are low for Happy Hour, but I wasn't particularly excited about anything on that menu. The Street Tacos can be skipped and the Queso Fundido is really just simple queso. The wings were okay off the regular menu and the drinks were fine. Quantity: Even Happy Hour portions are large. Value: $10 for Tommy's Margarita. $15 for Cocktails. $6 for 4 Street Tacos. $6 for Queso Fundido. $18 for Oaxacan Wings. Ambiance: Cinco is located in the Westchester area of Los Angeles. The restaurant is a stylish Mexican restaurant and bar. The inside area is large with the bar at the center, but surprisingly few televisions. It was loud inside the restaurant so if you don't like a lot of noise then you may not want to come during happy hour. Everything about the place is fine. Service was okay. Ambiance was alright. Food was good, but nothing stood out as exceptional. No one in the family was disappointed with their meals at least. Great place for happy hour! You can get four street tacos for $6 or a burrito for $7, and good prices on drinks too until 7pm. We ate in the patio area which was kept warm by plenty of heat lamps. Probably one of my favorite places to do happy hour. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It's during the week from 5-7pm, & you can get tacos for ONE DOLLAR EACH. Totally worth it. A bunch of appetizers, cocktails, & beer are super discounted as well. I highly recommend taking your friends here for some food and drinks after work/school. However, if it's not happy hour, it's a bit pricey to which I've decided it's not worth going to (in my opinion and considering my budget). There is one exception--the veggie burrito at a normal price of $10 & I would get this anytime. It's probably my favorite menu item here. They also have so many beers on tap; I'm an IPA typa person & I love the selections they have. Great customer service. The tortilla soup - which says - "must try" - delicious - ...nope...watery and no flavor, I had to ask for pico de gallo and salsa to dump into the watery mixture of chicken, tortilla strips and a few pieces of avocado...that was it - no beans, corn, cilatro, onions...nada. Today was my second time here and it's rather mediocre. The hostesses are always pleasant and welcoming. The space itself is inviting, particularly the bar, which lends itself to sports watching and just enjoying a cold beer and some good conversation. Other than that, the food is below average and the service is very bad. Again, the hostesses are outstanding and have been friendly on each of my visits. I also met (who I presume was) the manager on my first visit. They were closing up, my business partner and I were meeting, and he asked if he could close the check, but invited us to stay as long as we liked. He seemed very nice and hospitable as well. My first visit was for an impromptu business meeting. Today, I just went to enjoy a beer during happy hour. I recently moved to the area and was hoping this would be my "go-to". However, the bartender was pretty much amateur hour. He wasn't very attentive (to me at least, yet he was attentive to the ladies to the left and right of me). I ordered a beer and a few items from their happy hour menu. It was a lot of food (which I was told it would not be, because the items were small) and everything arrived at once, which meant that the food was getting cold as I ate one item before moving onto the next. Even the lady next to me (whom he was conversing with prior to my arrival) commented on how much food it was, after the bartender had just said it wouldn't be! At any rate, he never checked in on me, never asked whether I'd like another beer (which I ended up grabbing at another bar in Venice), and proceeded to continue his conversation about the first time he smoked crack with the patron beside me. I kid you not. Anyway, I didn't write this to bag on the guy or the place. It appears to have so much potential (and great real estate, being the only proper bar on the block). It would seem that they could be doing so much more, and ultimately, making a bit more money, no? It's a pretty central spot in the area, so maybe a good meeting place for a drink. We also shared the queso with chips and this was delicious as well...hints of pepper and chorizo. So so tasty! Staff were super cool. I tried the Paloma drink which comes with tequila and grapefruit but it sweet as well. The chili salt finishes this off so well. This was great before a flight! I really liked this place. The food was tasty, Service very lacking. I think they just had one server for lunch. Had to get our own menus, ask for things several times. We were a small group. When making the reservation, I was told they had "bottles" of margaritas; one bottle would serve four people. But when everyone was seated I was told we had to order individual margaritas so that more than doubled my bill because those margaritas are about $17 per drink. I didn't want to make my guests feel uncomfortable so I didn't argue with the server. But believe me I know I won't be hosting any more lunches there. I got ripped off. read more
