Dropped by this place for a quick meal and drink and was impressed by the quality of the food. My boyfriend and friend got a couple of the tacos and the quality and flavor of the meats was amazing. They were all heavily seasoned and incredibly flavorful. I will say I docked down a star for the price as I feel $8+ per taco is a bit excessive and not super reasonable for the amount of food you get For $20. While the tacos are bigger than a typical taco you'd get, $16+ for tacos is a bit high in my opinion. The margaritas were okay, we thought they tasted good but were quite sweet and lacking in tequila. My hibiscus one mainly tasted like a juice and not a margarita, I'm also assuming They were canned cocktails for $12 which again feels really high as it's a small cup with a lot Of ice. I got their kids meal which comes with a small cup of guac, chips and a quesadilla. The quesadilla was simple as expected but I enjoyed the chips and guac. It was overall a yummy place but the price makes me hesitant to come back as I feel your money doesn't go very far here. I agree with other reviews that I would love more options for variety here, and think it'd be cool if they had a base price where you could pick and choose what you wanted in the items rather than only the few prefixed tacos and bowls. I had to kinda look for this joint; craftily tucked away into a corner of the Market area - just south of the theater. Yum! Loqui is a cute Mexican restaurant located in the busy Runway Playa Vista. Its aesthetic is very modern with bold accents. I love the bright orange marigolds strung around the restaurant. Their menu is pretty straight forward offering tacos, bowls, sides, chips and beverages. Even though the menu is straight forward, they do offer some unique types of tacos and bowls. They have an achiote chicken, mushroom, pork conchita and more! I got the achiote chicken taco and a pork conchita taco. The tacos are big, stuffed with goodness. I got 2 Anaheim chile tacos, a side of rice and beans and a hibiscus margarita! Mmm mmmm!!!! I sure do love me some rice and beans! I wanna start with them because if you mess up rice and beans then the rest of the menu might as well hop off the page and go home. Their rice and beans were good!! They even sprinkled some cacique cheese on it. Yum-meee! My tacos - yo!!! I didn't think I would like an Anaheim chile taco but they were GUD! The chiles were roasted well, they added bean, guacamole, cheese onions and cilantro. You have a choice of corn or flour tortilla. I went with flour. I ordered the salsa and peanuts on the side because my tolerance for spicy is literally at a 1! I munched those tacos up and washed them down with the hibiscus margarita. It was such a perfect combo. The entire area is nice, but be warned that the parking is quite expensive in the attached structure, with not many options to validate. The food is good quality, but not that flavorful. I've been ordering from Loqui for at least a few years now. If I was going to compare them to another restaurant, it would have to be Chipotle. I haven't eaten Chipotle in years because their food always had some sort of recall. I also think they're overrated. I think Loqui is overrated, too. Is the food fresh? Yes. Nice meat selections and the portions for their side meats and beans and rice are plentiful. The meat selections are flavorful. The beans and rice are extremely bland. I like their cheese quesadillas. Their tortilla chips are fresh and their guacamole is also good and fresh. When you have food delivered, they often have promos. When the guacamole and chips are free, they're piled on. When you pay for them, you get a lot of salsa, guacamole and even cotilla cheese on the side, but you don't receive enough chips. Their agua frescas are decent. The Jamaica is ok, but I would prefer if it was sweet. It doesn't have to be sugary sweet, but Jamaica is typically sweet, unless it's from Tender Greens, where it's gentrified Jamaica. The lemonade is really good. It's a little too sweet, but it's good on its own or if you mix it with the Jamaica. (I actually prefer the Jamaica mixed with the lemonade.) I loved the Cucumber Lime agua fresca, but it hasn't been available for months. The Cantaloupe agua fresca is just ok. They can actually pull it and bring Cucumber Lime back. The beverages are bottled now, which I prefer. They used to be served in cups with lids that had no openings and no straws. My primary issue with Loqui is, unlike Chipotle, there is not enough variety. I'm surprised they've stayed open so long without a vegetable-heavy menu. No salads or lettuce of any kind. A Mexican Caesar salad would be awesome. A green salad with an assortment of mixed vegetables would be appreciated, with a few good dressing options. An option of crispy tacos would be awesome. They should have flavorful rice and season their beans. No one wants bland food unless they have some sort of medical condition that requires such. I saw a cob of corn in a photo, but that's not an option via food delivery apps. Note to Loqui: options are a great thing. A few dessert options would also be nice. read more

We ordered four kinds of tacos including: - pork cochinata (very spicy) - beef birria (a bit spicy) - achiote chicken - spicy garlic shrimp (a bit spicy) Overall I like the shrimp most followed by the chicken. They are not as moist as beef or pork but I likes crisp and clean flavor complimented by shredded veggies. The other two meats are full of juice and can be greasy if you are not into fat. The portion size is ok. $7 per taco is definitely in the expensive side but hey this is playa vista. The flavors are a modern take on the taco. I've definitely reviewed Loqui before. Might have been the other location. I haven't met a menu item that I don't like. I'm also now bringing my two-year-old here, because there's a lot of items that she is trying and liking for the first time. Quesadilla, guacamole, etc. I went here this morning to try their breakfast tacos which I have not had before. I went with the New York steak breakfast taco and it was delicious. I will add my picture to the review so that you can see all of the ingredients, and what it looks like together. It wasn't as messy as some of their tacos can get, which I enjoyed. They have two additional breakfast tacos, which I will be back to try. My only critique, and it is good to know for next time, is that the onions are raw white onions. I thought they might be caramelized onions, but they were just raw and very powerful. Next time I would ask for the onions to be removed. But I was still very satisfied. read more

You order, they prepare food and you go pick it up. Communal water available adjacent to the cashier. Metal cups provided. Went in with my running group and had the beef bowl with my second protein option being mushrooms. Their cucumber water is delicious not being too sweet and refreshing. Their cucumber bowl itself was amazing, I would definitely choose this over chipotle any day because you can taste the quality and the flour tortillas are amazing. I couldn't help myself from comparing this to Chipotle. I used to love Chipotle and now their quality has gone so down I never go there. When I found out about this place, I had to try and I'm glad I did. Their menu is very simple, bowl is also very simple with few ingredients, but their quality is on point. Chicken bowl was amazing, it was one of the best chicken I've had in any Bowls out there. I wish they had some greens and more sauce options. Bowl seemed pretty dry even with salsa. Btw their salsa cups are so small, 2 of them was not enough for me. If they add some greens to their menu I might be going more.
