Decent Tex Mex food here! They have a lovely decor inside and service is great! Our group shared some chips and dips. I shared the Mahi Mahi Entree since I wasn't feeling anything too heavy and a steak quesadilla. Quesadilla was perfect and cheesy. The Mahi Mahi had Alot of cabbage topping, but I liked it paired with the fish. Oh and the churro and sopapilla desserts were great. Just be sure to eat them while fresh and warm.

Service was good. Super nice waiter. Business was nice and clean with fun ambiance. Food was not good at all. Dry, no flavor and definitely over priced but it's the Kalahari so expected with the price. Drinks were ok. There were 5 of us and nobody could eat half of the food. Just not good. They made it look good though. Definitely eating somewhere else next time here.

This restaurant is inside the Kalahari in Round Rock Texas. It is designed in an elementary fashion. It is not designed authentically Mexican at all. It is a very clean restaurant. Reservations are recommended, as this is the inside a resort atmosphere that is very busy. We opted to sit at the bar because no reservations are required to sit at the bar. My husband got fajitas, rice and beans and a strawberry margarita. I got 2 chicken tacos and an iced tea. All of the meat provided at this restaurant is marinated and contains processed sugar. Kaylee, my server, was nice enough to go talk to the kitchen and they had one piece of chicken that had not been marinated and she had them make tacos for me out of that one piece of chicken. That was exceptional service. The food is pricey. My tacos were four dollars each. A small bowl of guacamole was $11. My husband's fajitas were $29. The food was fine; not great . This would be a good place to take children. It is designed with pictures on the wall that children would appreciate. It is spacious and simple.

We were a group of 4 for Friday night dinner. It's January so probably explains the small amount of people for dinner. We had a friendly server who gave us plenty of time to make our choices. We had queso con carne which was unusually tasty as an app. Definitely freshly made and the chips were very crispy too. Entrees included my carnitas burrito which may have been the most flavorful burrito I've ever had! Others had enchiladas and the fish dinner. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star experience was the fact I had to ask for a spoon twice! First for the queso and the second for my charros. We got one but not the second . Restaurants don't need to scrimp on silverware especially when the dinner for four was $130+. We will return since the quality was outstanding. Definitely a repeater! Hopefully they'll take the hint. This was surprisingly, really good. Kalahari restaurants tend to be all over the place, so you don't know what to expect. I will be fair, I kept getting mixed reviews from my friends. Some raved. Some said it was mediocre food at best. I came in with low expectations, because of the random inconsistency among friends who have visited this place. First, you do need a reservation. You want a reservation. Otherwise you either will not get in or have a 2 - 3 hour wait. Previous times I've come, this happened to me. My husband was very smart for this Kalahari trip and made a reservation the day we checked in. The entry also gives this false illusion that it's a tiny restaurant. It's a huge restaurant. However, it's very long, rather than wide, which gives that false impression. Service was semi slow, not fast, but not so slow you needed to complain. The waiter did warn us ahead of time, which may be why I was more patient. I kinda like getting this kinda information upfront. They do have a nice tequila selection, however I was not here for fun, but for a work conference so I drank the agua de jamaica, which was a lovely hibiscus drink. Everyone can do a decent taco, so instead I went for the chile relleno. The menu was a little confusing, because it listed things, and I wasn't sure if those were filling options or everything on top. The chile relleno is not a large chile, but they did build good flavor with the picadillo and cheese sauce on top. Maybe the chile could have been burned a minute or two longer to get that smokey flavor, but otherwise it was nice. Beans were great, rice was okay, however my husband liked it enough to continue stealing from it. I think to prevent a mixed experience, do the reservation, try something other than tacos, if you're not on a work trip be adventurous and do a tequila flight, otherwise go for the horchata or jamaica.

After a long day at the waterpark, the adults took a break from the kids and explored the resort. We decided we needed dessert, and found a table at Cinco Ninos, about an hour before closing. The hostess, or waitress Kristie, and everyone else that helped with water or food was super nice and friendly. Kristie was apologetic for any delays on our food, and made sure to give us updates on it when working her tables in our seating area. We ordered an app, a side salad, and dessert. These three items were delicious! I loved the tangy vinaigrette on the salad, and the chimichurri sauce on the queso was amazing! The Tres leches was actually a big portion, and we couldn't finish it. The next time we go to the Kalahari, we'll be dining here!

Announcement--------------review siiiiiiiixxxxxx-hun-it------ 600! I came to this location towards the end of last year with a friend to celebrate a birthday. We ordered a variety of menu items to include house-made guacamole, mixed grill fajitas and a special order of salsa and guacamole. Mixed Grill- The chicken on this menu item was chewy and lacked the flavor of the other two meats. However, the shrimp while small in size did have adequate amounts of spices which provided a mesquite pepper taste. Guacamole- The guacamole was okay but wasn't anything memorable. The food was overall okay but not nearly worth the price point that the establishment demands (I paid approximately $70 for the menu items before the drinks). If one is visiting the area and doesn't care to leave the resort, this may be the best bet. However, if one does have a car (rental or otherwise), it may be wiser to venture down the road to Torchy's or the like and get more bang for your buck and enjoy better quality food.

This restaurant is FUN! Love the bright colors, decor, and all the fun quotes. Staff was excellent of course. We really loved our waitress Amy, she was incredible. We got all the meals she recommended and we 10000% would eat it all again. Super flavorful and reasonably priced. I would like to say though, this is TEX MEX. Not traditional Mexican so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't the place. The queso with the chimmichuri was great! We loved the addition of the chimmichuri, it elevated it without overpowering it. The salsa was also good, more of like a deep smokey type salsa. I don't think the salsa they offer is one that would appease the masses, but my family liked it. The 2 tables around us though did not. Both taco dishes were great. The barbacoa was cooked beautifully and the green sauce they served with it was a spicy compliment to the dish. Fajitas were just okay, that's why I didn't give the 5th star. I really feel like I got ripped off on the chicken. Those 3 little pieces was unacceptable to me but I didn't complain, the shrimp was good and made up for it. Finished with the tres leches cake and the tequila flight. The cake was WOW. I can't believe I'm gonna say this but it was probably the best tres leches cake I've ever had which shocked me. I'd eat here again but maybe skip the fajitas.

We came in during our stay at the resort, and this is a beautiful establishment, from the paintings on the walls to the beautiful setup of the bar. The overall ambiance is warm and playful. Outstanding service from the waiter from start to finish. I could not have asked for better services. Now the food this restaurant gives you plenty. We were stuffed! My spicy margarita was so good. I will, without a doubt, return--delicious food. I do recommend it.

We tried this place out to see what it was all about and we were extremely pleased! The service was exceptional, as they were all very attentive. And the place is super clean, as it should since its new. The food was pretty fantastic! We had the Fried Sopes for a starter, and that was probably the highlight for me. It was full of flavor and delicious. Also, had the Chili Mango margarita and that was also amazing. Both are a must try. For our entrees we had a Braised Short Ribs and Carnitas Torta. Everything was full of flavor! The only downside were the fries, we did not "love" them as we have high expectations for fries lol but its a Mexican restaurant after all. I will definitely come back to try the other tortas and tacos! read more

Very sweet staff. They gave us free churros for our anniversary. It's not a fancy dinner btw. Very casual. Drinks took awhile to come out. I had the mezcal margarita. It was good. I had the elote it was ok. Needed salt. I had the beef street tacos. That was good. The chips and salsa was ok. Salsa was on the watery side. Overall great dinner. Service here was incredibly slow and with very few patrons at the time. When food and drinks finally arrived, it was incorrect and not a single item was even remotely tolerable. The queso appetizer was served in shallow bowl with barely any in it. Frozen sangrita was watered down icee. Tortilla soup was a bowl of salt water. Mexican Caesar salad lacking any flavor or ingredients. Burrito was a salt sandwich. Don't waste your time and money. read more

I like salty food but this was over the top salty. The Queso tasted like someone put a bottle of salt into it. The soup tasted like Campbell's can soup. Get this, they put a fish stick and call it a fish taco. The enchiladas was actually not bad. The service was ok. The chips & salsa was not bad. At least it was free. read more

Our waiter was really nice. Host at the front was difficult to understand. Food was good and bad. Fajitas tasted burnt but tortillas was good. Nachos actually came in a can which was pretty cool. My son ordered a taco but got a burrito, but waiter was nice about it and under 10 minutes the taco arrived. Took awhile for waters, but it's good that it's in the resort. Overall 3.5/5 read more

Thus place is a huge restraunt with plenty of seating room at each table. Service was great. I belive our server was name UK. Have to give a shout out to this guy. Made sure our water was filled gave us plenty of insight on the menu. I had the Barbacoa tacos. A bit greasy for my standards but when I bit into it. Delicious. Definetly will be coming back to you more of the menu. read more

Made a reservation through the Open Table app which made check-in for dinner very easy and quick. From start to finish my family enjoyed our meal and service. There are some items we won't order next time just because we do not enjoy spicy food. However, if you do these items would be for you. We ordered queso for our table, which our waiter said wasn't spicy but it was. Overall, it was delicious but we didn't finish because of the spice. We also ordered the Mexican Street Corn, our tables favorite. One of my children ordered the kids cheese enchiladas with a red sauce, she didn't enjoy it because it was dry. Had a double 40th surprise birthday party here for my husband and best friend and they didn't disappoint. it was our first time here so I was nervous for such a special occasion but it was perfect! Nayeli and Isaiah were great servers and made the night special for us. They really took care of us and we were a party of 20 with all separate checks. They did an amazing job with all our different personalities and requests. lol. Thank you to the whole restaurant for helping us pull off a very special evening and great food!! We came here on a Sunday afternoon. We waited for 10-15 mins for a table which was fine. Once we were seated we notice the restaurant was dirty. Salsa and food crumbs on chairs, dirty cloth napkins and floor were sticky. service and wait staff. Food is less than mediocre and of course $$$ for what you get, however you are paying for convenience. We ordered kids tacos with carrot sticks, fish tacos (2/5) or barbacoa burrito (3/5). The black beans were good as well as the appetizer queso with the chimichurri sauce. Overall, we will not be back. Service and wait staff was so poor. If they can't keep up now, they will drawn during peak summer once everyone is more comfortable getting out post COVID! read more

First time at the restaurant and the conference/water park center. We went for a birthday dinner and made reservations thru the website. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa...we were all fighting over the salsa! The table ordered the barbacoa burrito, chicken/beef fajitas (choice of whole/refried beans and corn/flour tortillas), and chicken enchiladas. Everyone said the food tasted really (the fajita meat is definitely seasoned well) but the only issue is it came out kinda cold. Our waiter was working three pretty big parties so service was kinda slow but our waiter was really nice and did his best. We said we would definitely come back and next time not get sooo full that we don't make room for ice cream (for me I want to try gelato) from the candy store in the lobby. read more

Absolutely loved this place! We are staying at Kalahari and wanted to try all of the restaurants here. This one was great! The atmosphere is fantastic, the service was extremely fast. And the food was great!! Authentic Mexican at its best. They also have a cashew queso which was amazing since I can't have dairy. Overall we loved this restaurant and loved the vibes there. Definitely going to try to come back while we are still here. read more

I really wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it was seeing that most of the food we had at the Kalahari was sub par and over-priced. The Spicy Chicken enchiladas and the Al-Pastor tacos were really good. They did a good job on the refried beans and the rice was ok. Id have to say if you're looking for the better spot at Kalahari for dinner, Cinco Niños is it. read more

I wanted to love this place. I really did. And as a tequila fan, how could I not? They have an extensive collection of great tequilas. Yet, it underwhelmed me. And being that it is on-site at the Kalahari resort, prices are resort high. The food is Tex Mex style which means no pinto beans, so if you're hankering for some traditional bean dip, you're out of luck. The chips had a funny seasoning on them that did not elevate the chip. The guacamole we ordered for the table was bland. My Cadillac margarita was just ok. It is made with Casamigos Reposado. This is the same tequila in the margarita I ordered at the grotto inside the adjoining waterpark and yet it wasn't as good. I'm not sure why. My husband enjoyed his barbacoa beef. I had the tuna tostada. They really overdid it with the red cabbage so I had to ditch half of it to make the tostada manageable. My daughter ordered the bean and rice enchilada and it was delicious! I wish I had ordered that. read more

This place is great, the best chips and salsa to snack on while you wait. Tons of adult beverage options, and the steak tacos and barbacoa cinco nachos were amazing. Shot out to Volkan one of the most attentive and polite waiters I've ever had. My family and I will definitely be coming back here even if we aren't staying at the resort. read more

Despite assurances of a fresh serving, it was evident that the dish was merely reheated, resulting in a concoction that was overly salty and reminiscent of canned tomatoes, further compromised by the buried remnants of the initial serving. Equally disheartening was my son's choice of a simple bean and cheese burrito from the children's menu, which failed to meet even modest expectations, paling in comparison to fast-food alternatives--a confounding revelation. It may be advisable for the establishment to concentrate on its strengths, such as beverages and light snacks, given the universally disappointing dining experiences among our party, underscored by the disproportionate cost of our meals. This was our first visit to the park and we had a great time. The staff is always very friendly and the restaurant Cinco Niños is highly recommended., especially the waiter who treated us the best. Thank you very much Ufuk, excellent service. read more
