This is a late review but this is my favorite Mexican restaurant that I have tried so far. The food always tastes so fresh and delicious, the wonderful people who work there are always smiling and helpful and if you are eating out the restaurant is always clean or if you get takeout your order is always completely right, hot and delicious. Classic Mexican decor (without ever having been in Mexico so I really have no idea...) Server was nice. I had the chorizo quesadillas which was good but I would definitely have liked more chorizo or less beans in it - the beans kinda took over from the chorizo. Where do I begin.... I have always enjoyed Cincos but looking at the reviews over the previous year they look like they are slipping. Went last night at about 7:15. It was not crowded, may 6 parties in the bar area. Our waitress was not happy about being there one bit, when she first came over she asked if we wanted drinks which we ordered. I thought it was weird she did not hit the table with chips and salsa when she first came over. Our drinks returned, my "diet pepsi" did not taste good and my partner had a water. The waitress then disappeared and walked around aimlessly for awhile before randomly returning and asking if we wanted to place our dinner order. My partner ordered he Quesadilla which she said was good. I ordered Steak and Shrimp fajitas. The waitress closed her book to walk away, when I said....with flour tortillas, and refried beans. Not sure what I was going to get without specifying. We had to ask for a salt shaker, and more chips and salsa, the salsa is coming in small little dishes instead of the way it used to come. The salsa tasted a little off, I cannot put my finger on it, almost like it had been in the fridge for a day or two to long. When the food arrived, the "sizzling skillet" for the fajitas was sizzling so much it created a smoke condition in the dining room. I mean we could see smoke gathering in the can lights on the ceiling. The proteins I ordered in my dinner were not placed on top of the peppers and onions so the steak ended up being tiny little pieces of burnt steak with shrimps stuck to the skillet and burned as well. There were several other staff running meals and working, but it seemed very disjointed, and out server either didn't care or was not trained at all. We will give them another shot, and I know they opened another place in Rochester maybe management is spread to thin? read more

We moved from Nashville, TN, to Candia, NH, late last year and took a chance on this place as we missed decent Mexican food, whether Americanized or not. This place DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! The food was REALLY GOOD (try the pineapple fajitas - great idea and even better taste!) the guacamole was good, the salsa was good, the queso was good - everything was really easy!!! ...and the service was nothing short of PERFECT. Madeleine was obviously a seasoned veteran server, knew our needs before we did, and neither over- nor under-represented herself at our table. Friendly, candid, knowledgeable. Absolutely PERFECT. Where to start. We walk in and the place is dead on a Saturday night. Our waiter comes up to us and rushes to get our drink order. Margaritas and water with a few kids juices. Pretty simple stuff. My kids were pretty hungry so I went ahead and ordered those meals and appetizers when he was getting out drink orders. When I tell you the appetizers and kids food arrived before a single drink I'm not joking. The kids food was completely wrong as well so we had to send that back. 30 minutes go by and the dude seems frustrated with us so we asked the manager, who we didn't know was the manager, for some more chips. Waiter comes back and tosses the chips on the table and walks off. Still hasn't gotten our food order. Finally about 10-15 minutes later he comes and gets our food order and it feels like hours before we finally get it. A few people got the wrong entrees and the people who ordered fajitas only got the rice and bean plate. No sizzle plate. After 5 minutes the sizzle plates came out. My husband looked at me and said "oh the chicken looks good".... Problem with that is that I ordered steak and carnitas. All of the meat was a weird temperature somewhere between cold and luke warm. On a freaking fajita. The steak was super stringy and the carnitas was all fat and it was this dull grey shiny color. I sent it back. The manager comes out and goes "who got the fajitas?" I said that I did and she said "okay. Can I ask what was wrong with them?" So I told her. No apologies. Nothing other than "can I get you something else?" And a passive walk away. She comped my meal but will never go back. Over $100 for unimpressive food. There are some people who shouldn't be in the service industry and some people who should not be cooks. Worst food and service I've had in a long time. If you want good Mexican food go to La Caretta in downtown Portsmouth. read more

Cinco's Cantina is a casual Mexican restaurant took over the former Tortilla Flat in Brickyard Square in Epping a few months ago. During the health pandemic (early 2020), they offered takeout and outside dining in front of the restaurant at about 6 tables, which can all be occupied on nicer days. There is also additional outdoor seating located between The Oven and Beach Plum. I ordered dinner takeout from Cinco's Cantina very recently since I felt it was a bit too soon to be eating out in public. Ordering online and paying ahead via Clover was super easy and my order was all set to be picked up in 20 minutes after placing my order. They will deliver your order to you in the parking lot. I ordered the Chimichangas ($11.99 plus tax) which comprised of two deep fried chimis (one filled with shredded chicken and the other with seasoned beef) topped with queso & sour cream drizzle, Mexican rice, and soft refried beans, accompanied by shredded lettuce, tomato, guacamole, crunchy tortilla chips and mild salsa (not thick). The portion of food was enough and similar size to other Mexican restaurants in the area. I enjoyed my takeout tasty dinner outside on a sunny evening on my car isolated in the spacious parking lot. CV-19 PSA: The servers at the restaurant were wearing masks (serving unmasked outside diners), but a male host delivering takeout food orders outside to customers was not. Another male worker entering the restaurant questioned why so many mask wearers in the area. Wearing masks is not required at most places in NH, but it's done to protect other people and to slow the spread. The current CV case numbers in Epping is very low, less than 5 (late May 2020), but drive 20-30 minutes to the west and south and the current CV cases are sky high. read more

Awful!! Stay away!! With only 6 tables occupied you would have thought service would have been attentive and food expedited, we did to and nothing could have been further from the truth, 55 minutes later the food arrived and it was awful the fajitas came out so hot the entire bottom of the plate was charcoaled and the flavor tasted it as well . The waitresses could be found huddled and talking with the hostess up front, while the guest all spoke amongst themselves complaining about empty drinks and no food. read more

Horrible horrible drinks last night .. food was just ok. 3 of us had margaritas and there was zero tequila in them - same situation for our friend who ordered a vodka of soda so we asked for a few shots to add to our drink because they were so weak and the girl charged us not only for all the margaritas but also for the additional shots stupidly we didn't smell the shot before we put it in our drink, but I tasted the shot glass and it smelled like perfume and didn't taste like anything. Three of us, two adults one 12 year old. All had good food and drink--though none were alcoholic so can't speak to those. An order of a skillet burrito, pork tacos and a kids taco all arrived quickly and the food seemed fresh and tasty. Chips and salsa were fine but not remarkable. Service was good. To say my experience was bad is an understatement, it was god awful. It took around an hour just to get our food because the underpaid depressed waiters or so i assume have know idea where the tables are and the food that was ordered was sent to the wrong table so thats where most of the wasted time went and waiting the eternity for my food i was bored to death and really had nothing to do other than watching stuff on my phone. And the food was alright i suppose but it couldnt make up for the service so i can safely say im not going here again. :( read more

Finally New Hampshire has some Tex-Mex!! Very different than Margaritas (which is good, but for me Cinco's is better.) Quite different from our other local fav too, Los Olas. This is true Tex-Mex so if you like that style of Mexican you will like this place. Good chips and salsa, flavorful and less vinegary than what you find at other Mexican restaurants. Friendly staff. Good Food. Good Margaritas. Nice decor and seating options. Very reasonable prices. Will definitely be back even though it's close to half an hour away. read more

Excellent meal at Cinco's tonight. Quite busy for a Monday night, but service was fine. We had chicken fajita salad and a pork pastor quesadilla. Great food, the veggies were fresh and crunchy, and the pastor-style pork was delicious, with a bit of pineapple salsa inside. Drinks were great, food even better. Well done Cinco's. read more

We love this restaurant! It's really great for a small table for two or a large table for 14! They are very accommodating. The food is excellent, hot, seasoned well and tasty! Stumbled upon this location while passing through the area, had an outstanding jalapeño margarita and a lunch combo of chicken chimichanga and cheese chile relano with beans and rice side. I decided to stop in and try the tacos. I got home and found that they were So soaked in grease from the meat that the taco was all soggy and I couldn't even pick them because they just fell apart. I called and I spoke to the owner/manager for a replacement. He was extremely rude and refused to give me his name. I told him that his yelp review was not gonna be good and he had the nerve to hang up on me. This is customer service coming from The owner!!! The person that initially waited on me did not seem to know what he was doing. When I asked him if there is a separate lunch menu or if I can just have anything that's on the regular menu he said anything. So I ordered the fish tacos and I'm told I can't have those for lunch. Okay fine I ordered street tacos. I had so much trouble placing my order because Jesus was so confused. I'm not sure that he understood English very well. I would totally avoid this place.With the ownership/management being that disrespectful to their customers I don't I think it's a place that anybody should go. read more

Stopped into this town with a hankering for Mexican food and I hit the jackpot on the first try. My table ordered the queso fundido with chorizo, Chori Papas (fries topped with chorizo, scallions, and cheese), and I had the Enchiladas Dona Maria. I haven't had quality mole for years and this was absolutely perfect. Nothing was too spicy, which is great for me, though you can customize that if you want. A member of my party got the vegetarian Rajas Tacos and even I, a proud carnivore, was impressed. Everything had so much flavor, was freshly prepared, and the service was impeccable. My only regret is that I couldn't take a few plates with me back home. I was so impressed I paid a visit to their sister location in Dover. This is a hidden gem for sure. read more

Decided to give this place another shot, why did we bother . This place is a rip off. We ordered the queso fundido to bring home as a side to our fish tacos; first off the portion size was hugely lacking, it was like the kid portion. Then hardly no cheese all meat. Sadly disappointing. The salsa isn't even homemade. For a place that states it's the finest Mexican food in NH you're going to be let down and totally turned off. Stopped by with a friend for lunch. No lunch menu. ok. We both ordered the sampler @ $12.99 each. Food arrived. Greens were a bit dry so I asked for hot sauce. Waitress said that would be another $1.50 added to the check. Not the money, but the idea that a Mexican restaurant does not carry bottled hot sauce or wants to charge for it....hummm. So I asked about a small amount of dressing for the greens. Waitress asked if I meant bottled dressing like Wishbone. I said that would work and she said it was free only if I ordered a salad and that there would be an extra fee. Later she came by and asked us very loudly as she walked by," You ok, girls". Now, my friend and I are close to 80 years old. Just seemed disrespectful. We won't be back. Food wasn't bad but not great either. read more
