Decided to do a quick Sunday lunch, and landed here. 1st timers, and we were pleased. The rents had just been here the night before and recommended the apps. My boyfriend and I decided to go with the wings in buffalo and a sweet Thai chili sauce, bada bang shrimp, and a marg pizza. The wings I thought were a bit over cooked, but the Buffalo sauce was fantastic, not so much the chili sauce. The shrimp was def the favorite though, the sauce is spicy with a kick of a sweet tang. The absolute cream of the crop in caloric artistry , I am a big fan of the Ciconte group and all the pizzerias I am also a fan of the Village pubs. Stopped by Cinder Bar for the first time last night. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading reviews. Let me just say I was Very satisfied with everything from top to bottom. Service (Hailey-hope I spelled that right) was great. Very attentive,pleasant and patient. We had a few little ones with us! I also had my brother in from out of town. He was also impressed. The food was great. You must try the Bada Bang Shrimp. We also ordered 3 pizzas and they were all delicious. They also have a pretty decent Craft Beer Selection. TERRIBLE. Terrible service, terrible food. Cubano sandwich had a weird smell. Figured out it was the pulled pork. Still unsure if the meat was bad or weirdly prepared. The cheese was hardly melted. I had only one thin pickle slice on one side. The worst was the skillet cookie WAS COLD and CRUNCHY. They bring you a hot skillet that they've just placed a not good crunchy cookie in. The skillet is purely for show. We had 2 at our table, and both were equally cold and dry. Wanted a happy hour drink, asked our waitress for recommendations, and then find out on the bill she recommended drinks that were $12 each instead of $5. Love the food and atmosphere. However, the worst bartenders in New Jersey. Was just in for dinner tonight. Bar was not busy. Ordered my drink and food. Was delicious as usual. As I wanted another drink the bartender was nowhere to been found. Two other bartenders there aggressively ignored us and the empty plates in front of us. The I ate and just wanted another beer; however, the couple next to me got their app and one drink each and where also wondering. 15 minutes and no bartender or help from the other two. I finally force the male bartenders attention and he very unprofessionally gripes that our bartender just left. Clearly they were angry at her. He said she was in such a hurry she didn't tell anyone. Yet, he knows this and still purposely ignored us. Had to ask them to clear the area, plates from other people still sitting on the bar. Don't even know how long. Neither bartender asked if we needed anything. Should have just cashed out and left but I just wanted a second beer. Had to flag the girl down, she takes a glass walks all the way into the kitchen out of site returns seconds later with same glass in hand, fills it then says "hold on your glass in chipped" sticks her fingers in the beer to feel the glass. Those fingers went deep. Says "let me get you another glass." Literally walked around the bar pretended the top it off and handed me the same glass. The woman next to me said "Don't drink that beer she didn't give you a new glass" I said I know. And could only laugh. Oh, I'm not done. I tell the girl I don't want that beer and I want to check out, she walks away in a fit. I have the then flag the guy down to check out. He takes my card sticks it in the machine and walks away. Starts making drinks. The place was not busy. Even the couple next to me are verbal about it. She says "He's down the other end of the bar" and laughs I say this is the craziest experience ever. Finally I get my card and leave. Horrible bartenders. And most of it was in malice, for who I don't know. Owners worst nightmare. Absolutely IN LOVE with this place! Walked in to smiling faces at the host stand, followed by a prompt greeting from Lauren & Chris. Nothing better than having bartenders you just met that you feel like you have known forever! Ordered the Vola, holy amazing & came out so fast! Fun place to have a few drinks. The decor is awesome and fun, tables and walls are made from trees in the local area that fell in storms. Has great character and charm. Plenty of beer choices, Martini list lacks attention but they do have many many bourbon cocktails. All the appetizers are delicious including all the pizza. My wife and I chose to try this place out for our date night. It is at a good location with plenty of parking, and the outside of the building looks nice. Once inside, it became very noisy. Yes, it was fairly crowded. Inside decor was ok...cement floor probably amplified the noise. First order: drinks. We both ordered vodka tonics. Only orange vodka they had was stoli. Hmmm...with "Bar" in yoir name, kind of expected more selection of vodka. Plenty of yuppie beer IPA's though. First sip of drinks...ew. The kids working there need to understand seltzer and tonic are indeed different. Ordered tonic...got seltzer. Not a good start. Wife then ordered Caesar Salad. I got a few starters for variety: the Ukranian perogies, wings, and cheese steak eggroll. We both agreed the food was very good, and served piping hot. Pizza seemed to be their main dish with their wood stove. Compared to their affiliate place, Village Pub in Beckett NJ...Village Pub won hands down in food, service and ambiance. Alright, I have been coming here from the start. I live close by and I was here from the time it opened. In that time, relationships were forged from a customer/provider aspect and I can say I never had a bad experience. Not once. I may be biased, or, I may be more easy going than some of the other folks that posted unfavorable reviews and have a stick up their asses. Some people would give a bad review to Gordon Ramsay just because they are full of piss and vinegar and love to say negative stuff on Yelp. I expect to wait an hour for a table on a Friday night, I expect to wait longer for a drink on a Saturday when Cinder bar has people in every bar seat and at every table. If YOU don't, you're an idiot. That is the name of the game when the establishment you want to visit is doing things right. This establishment IS doing things right. Kitchen staff, bar staff, wait staff, and management have always been very courteous, professional, and friendly to me, my family and my friends. The menu is off beat and enlightening. There isn't one like it in any place I've been locally. Negative reviews will come, they aren't always true. Maybe ownership should talk to customers face to face about experiences rather than going off of this site. we have frequently gone to cinder bar in clarksboro we even went on mothers day and have never had any problems with the service . well not today we arrived there was alone out the door we thought we'll they just opened understandable and it's fathers day. we finally get to hostess station manager and staff say if you can just give us five min we are trying to give kitchen time to catch up no problem we say . They seat us at 10:30 waitress comes by says high be with you shortly 15 min go by she finally comes to take order she takes are order. another 20 min go by she says your food should be out shortly another 30 min go by still no food I finally wave her down as she is walking back and say we would like to cancel are check it's now 11:45 she says I will get the manager for you to talk to him he Comes over and basically could of cared less and says ok fine , however a table with 6 people who sat down after us is being served there food but was a different waitress. this makes me sad because I really enjoyed there food but this sit makes me not want to ever go back read more

Happy hour was nice, although I really didn't understand why I couldn't get a discounted pizza for not being at the bar. Whatever not the biggest deal. Drink prices were as expected. I don't why I ordered them but the chicken and waffles were supremely underwhelming. The chicken and breading would just separate and it would reveal this charred black layer. I think they fried it at too high of a temperature. Definitely will never get that again. It would probably be best if they just took it off the menu. The staff has always been super friendly and accommodating. My personal favorite for family dinner, date night and business special events. Usually a great spot to visit but had horrible service when I went in for lunch today. Waitress (Gina) forgot to put my order in. Delivered all of the food to everyone else at the table and said nothing about my order. 10 mins go by and she says, 30 seconds. Food came out a few mins later, rest of the table was just about done. Had to eat it real quick because I was on lunch break. Manager came by and asked one person at the table if everything was ok and quickly moved on before I had a chance to say anything. The food here is great and there is nothing else in the area that really compares. They have plenty of bar staples and then some dishes that are a little unusual for a bar scene. My favorite dish so far is still the braised short rib and wild mushroom risotto. It is phenomenal! They also have several different kinds of wood fired pizza (each pizza I've tried so far has been really good). If I could give 0 stars I would have. I ordered my food at 10:30am before they opened to be delivered by 12pm. Unfortunately, it is now 12:45pm and the food still isn't here. We ordered chicken and waffles, but if I knew I was gonna get it this late I would've just ordered lunch smh. This Restaurant and Grubhub clearly aren't on the same page! I called the Grubhub driver at 1230 and they said they just got the notification to go pick up an order but it's still not ready at the restaurant. We stopped at the Cinder Bar in Williamstown on our way home and sat at the bar. It turned out to be a major disappointment. We received our first drinks fairly quickly. After that we were not asked if we would like another for the rest of the evening. My wife had to get their attention to ask for another. About ten minutes after getting our drinks, a different bartender came by to get our food order. I asked if I could get a side salad and was informed that they didn't have side salads. The menu offered a white clam pizza($20 for a bar pie is a bit steep). Five minutes later I was told it wasn't available. It is listed as a "new item" on the menu. They didn't run out, they just didn't have it. There is really no excuse for that. I was going to get a burger, but there was only one choice on the menu, a burger loaded with seven items. A simple burger would have been nice. I got the meatball skillet small plate my wife got the Burrata ravioli. The basic flavors were good but both dishes were overly salty. The butternut squash mascarpone polenta was soupy. The service was spotty, the fact that a "new item" was "no longer available" was disappointing and the food was just OK. read more

Tried this place for the first time out of curiosity. I heard they are owned by the Village pub, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. Love the ambience of the place. I went on a Monday, and they had a pretty decent crowed for a Monday day, so they must be doing something right. I'm a bartender myself, and Monday days are the slowest and the worst! I ordered a Bloody Mary, which was delicious. It was garnished nicely with a little mini pickle, olive, hot pepper and tomato. I loved that. Way better than the traditional celery stalks. (I hate celery) I also ordered the bada bing shrimp, which were also really good I must add, I love the whole small plate concept. I don't eat a lot, and the portion sizes are perfect for me. My family and I have now been to this restaurant two times since it has opened. We checked in online both times before we left our house, no problem, and when we got there, even though it was very crowded in the parking lot and inside, we were able to get a table within five minutes. The food is really good, they have a great beer selection, plus it is cold!!...and the service is awesome, everyone is very friendly and quick with whatever is needed. Last night, we had Alannah, she was great, friendly, happy, and we were a larger group but she was there for us with anything we needed plus I did see she was taking care of a couple other tables to, always with a smile on her face! What a great spot. Had not heard of this place until recently. The vibe in this place is very trendy. Lots of tvs, low lighting, and modern wall decor. It was super kid frIendly on the periphery of the bar area, but also seemed to be a good place to go for drinks. Speaking of drinks....the beer list is incredible. No shortage of beers or drink specials here. The food was also incredible. NoT one of the cheaper menus out there but it's well worth the money.
