We have been buying our lattes here for the past couple months. It you are hoping to buy a coffee…read morelarger than 12ounces, you better not stop here. Disappointed this location only offers 8oz and 12oz sizes. The coffee is above average with a great flavor and smooth finish. The eating area needs some additional ambience, it feels cold and not inviting as others. There is a nice retail area but very little branded retail items. Don't think sitting outside is the answer, with a huge parking area and NO asphalt or dust spray added, makes it just too dusty to enjoy your morning coffee or visit with friends. Fantastic service from everyone up front. Everyone is doing their job it appears. The restrooms are very clean. They lost one star because of the parking lot and latte sizes.

Hear ye, hear ye! I, your humble servant, have come to share my experience at the local bakery. Upon indulging in a warm and freshly baked cinnamon bun, I was quite disappointed to find a stray hair nestled amongst the swirls of cinnamon and sugar. As a patron of this establishment for many moons, I am disheartened to say that this was a most unpleasant surprise. In the days of yore, a hair in one's food was seen as a sign of poor hygiene and disrespect for one's customers. Alas, it seems that such standards have fallen by the wayside. While I cannot speak for the entirety of the bakery's offerings, I must caution my fellow townspeople to inspect their baked goods with great care before indulging. It is my hope that the owners of this establishment will take greater care in ensuring that their food is free from such unsavory additions in the future. In conclusion, while the cinnamon bun itself was quite delectable, the presence of a hair left a sour taste in my mouth. I cannot in good conscience recommend this bakery until such issues have been rectified. Mayhap they shall take heed of this warning and strive to improve their culinary offerings for the betterment of all. read more

The Stehekin Pastry Company felt like a true community hotspot as I saw locals, visitors, and PCT thru-hikers all gathering over coffee and baked goods. All in all, Stehekin Pastry Company is pretty much a must visit when you're in Stehekin. There is great food and a great atmosphere in one of the most beautiful, remote places you may ever visit. When I got the salad I was shocked to see a huge, almost entree sized salad. The lasagna had ricotta, spinach layers smothered in Alfredo sauce. It was delish but I think they can go a lot less on the sauce. It was buttery, almost too buttery as well. But it was dang good! So that bread bar... if you love bread like I do, you'll be in carb heaven. They feature different kinds of bread baked that day- there was the usual French bread but they had flavors like rosemary, garlic,black pepper and the most unusual - curry cranberry. Don't be afraid to try the different flavors. The cranberry curry ended up being my favorite. Behind the bar is where you can find the different kinds of butter and olive oil. If you want balsamic vinegar, you'll need to ask your server. Sadly I gorged on the bread and couldn't eat my meal. My daughter ordered the HALF order of Seafood Louie ($20.80). When it came to the table, we burst out laughing because the thing was full entree sized where we come from. It was chock full of fried calamari, huge grilled prawns, little bay shrimp and an egg. She had a hard time finding a starting place to take the first bite without it spilling over. She really like the thousand island dressing too. My suggestion is to get it on the side to add as you work your way down. Mussels & Clams ($15.50) was also a hit- big and plump and the broth went perfectly with bread. The kids buttered noodles ($5.75) were good but it was kind of swimming in butter. They could've used half the amount. But the noodles were nice and al dente. Service was great and very accommodating- a big shout out to Jesus! FYI, a tip of 18% is automatically added to the bill with option to add. If we're ever back in Omak, we're definitely returning! Actually we did come back the next morning to buy the bread but unfortunately we were there before they opened.

Menu looked good. Great impromptu lunch! They offer curry & basmati rice plates, and you can choose whether you want 1, 2, 3, or 4 curries. We shared a 3 curry plate and selected mushroom, dahl, and mango (they had a selection of meaty curries as well). Food came out promptly, and we enjoyed it at one of several picnic tables under a large tree canopy which offered protection from the rain this day, but would be equally good for providing shade on a sunnier occasion. Each curry was so flavorful, it was hard to choose a favorite. Even between the two of us we probably consumed a little more than half and took the rest with us. It was just as delicious later on. And the hot sauce accompanying it was really spicy and tasty, too. Lots of teens showed up as we were finishing our meal, so this must be a popular high school lunch spot as well. If you aren't familiar with the cuisine, Sri Lanka is a South Asian island country in the Indian Ocean that is a neighbor to India. While it is not part of India, I would describe the food as having many similarities, while being its own distinct cuisine. For example, we had vegetarian samosa at Fork, and while many of the elements were similar, the taste was different (spices, some ingredients). The curries were also distinctive, including a fruit curry (mango). The most unique dish appears to be a classic Sri Lankan item called kottu roti, which was chopped roti bread mixed and stir fried with vegetables and meat (or just veggies). This was my personal favorite, though the spouse was pretty into the samosas and the mango curry, despite "not liking mango." It was super hot that day, but luckily the picnic tables have tree cover for eating. Judging by the weekday crowd of workers on lunch, Fork seems like a hit with the locals, and it's easy to see why. This would be food hard to come by in some U.S. cities let alone a pretty rural area of the Pacific NW. Check it out if you are visiting or live nearby!
