If you're looking for quality authentic ecuadorian food at an affordable price look no further ! Their portion servings are pretty big. They have daily specials and soups that are extremely savory. I love the beef soup (sopa de res), the lentil soup is amazing as well! I usually have a shrimp ceviche (ceviche de camaron) it is delicious and basically a meal on its own. Any of their seafood dishes are delightful! The churrasco (skirt steak) Is divine! Their meat assortment is great too. They also have the best humitas I've ever had (cornmeal filled with cheese) ... if you haven't tried one yet.. try one here you won't be disappointed. The bolones (plantain, cheese and chicharron ball/dumpling) are filling and scrumptious... I always order an extra two for my uncle who loves these. Ridiculously good is the lentil soup on wednesday. Their "secos", or stews, are ridiculous. Ceviche is good, and assorted grilled meats are as well. But try something you're unfarmiliar with. I moved to the area and tried this place out. So decently priced and good portion size, but the food was so so, there are places a few blocks away where the food is better. Besides that, the service here is terrible, my order which was rice, tostones, and fish took an hour to come out (first they said it would take half and hour). Not only that, but the other people around me said the same thing, they said as they were paying "this should have been free since it took an hour to be served." Three stars out of generosity and maybe they're going through a funk. Mainly writing this for the food because service is almost nonexistent, quality has dropped noticeably, came home with an encebollado mixto (fish,shrimp) to open the container to a bland broth with a few fish slices and literally 3 larva sized shrimp. It might have been because they had a huge take out order but it took awhile to even get our beverages (which the waitress brought out AFTER the ceviche). One diner at the table next to us wanted to see how the skirt steak came out to order it the next time but even he thought it was an extremely long wait and left before it arrived. I resorted to this place because their portions are generous and I wanted to share something with my wife. At my mother's house they always order takeout from here so I eat their food frequently. Their food is OK. I placed my takeout order while I was still 15mins away. Really just the most delicious ecuadorian food uptown. Tastes like my abuelitas cooking in Ecuador. I had the ceviche and soap de mariscos. Both were super super delicious. Just tastes so homemade. What I've had, bolones and humitas have been good. Reason I rate 3 of 5 was the poor attitude from the girl in front. Today was my second time there. You greet people with a smile. I went here on the hottest day of the planet. I hoped to eat and not bother cooking at home. Our power was out so we also sat in the air conditioned restaurant. The service was great, the food was not. I don't know if I just picked the wrong day or the wrong food or both, but the Caldo de bola was flavorless, and the ball too hard. The abundant meat was tough. I am from an Ecuadorean family that knows how to cook and this wasn't good. I had the breaded fish, which was a little salty, but didn't bring the red onion garnishes that the picture on Yelp posts...so not interesting. And the sides which were maduros also not that great and white rice( because it was the only rice available). I won't be going back, unless I'm getting the cheese filled plantain empanadas...those I liked. read more

Food is delicious, you can't go wrong with any of the food. I personally love pescado frito , ceviche, and their salads are pretty good. However, the service is terrible! Been here over 10 times and every time the servers are rude and are not very welcoming. The service is so terrible you won't even want to leave a tip. If you eat in, chances are it will take over 25 minutes for you to get your food. You're better off calling for pick up. read more
