First time in Chicago and me and a couple other guys are on a work trip. Found this place close to the hotel. We got the stuffed cheese and the stuffed Cipriani's special. They were absolutely fantastic. This is an older establishment and it's more of a take out spot than a dine in. They have a handful of tables though. Customer service was great. For my first Chicago pizza experience I'm very satisfied!

Solid pizza joint that does a ton of to go business. We had a long layover, so we hopped in an Uber and came over here based on reviews. It was less than a ten min drive from the airport. We got an antipasta salad that had a good amount of meats and cheese with cucumbers, tomatoes, and carrots. The pizza came out cooked all the way thru with a crispy crust. The sauce on top was very fresh. The only thing I wish was that the pepponi had a bit more flavor. If you like a pizza in its simplest form, with fresh ingredients, this is the place to come. The place is small inside with about 5 tables, but most of their business appeared to be to go orders. They also have pizza by the slice. The staff was very friendly and let us hang out and occupy a table for a couple of hours. I definitely would come back here if in Chicago. Prices are much cheaper than the airport, so if you have the time, call in an order and head over. Don't let the small unassuming place from the outside fool you. I also got a cannoli, which I have never had before (so I have no comparison), it was ok - very, very sweet.

Pizza- half garlic pepperoni and half garlic sausage.

The pizza wasn't bad but there are definitely better pizzas in Chicago and in the local neighborhood. The dipping sauce for the cheese sticks had a nice spice to them. The location is near midway and has a small dining area with a handful of seats. It also appeared they offered delivery. Not a bad option if you live nearby and want something walking distance but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

Had a connecting flight from Midway International Airport and our flight got delayed for a few hours. What better way to make the best of the situation and seek out what Chicago is most known for -- Deep Dish Pizzzzza! I found Cipriani's Pizza on a quick Yelp search and the group and I decided it would be a good choice since it's located about a couple miles away from the airport. This joint is a small family owned business which I appreciate but the staff who were running the front of the house were simply rude and uninviting. I will note that they were not rude to patrons coming in and out to pick up pizza, and that could be because they were locals or regulars. I guess we gave off that 'out-of-town-er' energy because we were met with very mediocre hospitality. We ordered two Deep Dish Pizzas (one cheese and one of their specials), one thin crust sausage pizza, two large salads, and six sodas for $80.00 -- which is not too bad of a tab. The pizzas took about 45 minutes to make which could be an issue if you're walking in hangry after a full day of traveling. The pizza sauce was definitely a hit but the crust on both the thin crust and deep dish just didn't do it for me. I don't know if this was the "Chicago Deep Dish Pizza Experience" but I will share I was not too impressed. Note to owners: ask the ladies in the front to be a bit more warm and helpful. Maybe it would create a better first impression for first time visitors.

Authentic and quality Chicago style deep dish pizzeria! Founded decades ago by a married couple, Cipriani's is a Southeast Chicago institution! Named after an owner's Grandmother, Cipriani's reflects the craft learned from Giordano's, where the owner couple had worked. But it is better than Giordano's because the ingrediants are fresher and the owners remain very hands on in the business (both were there when I was). The house salad is very classic--iceburg lettuce, radishes, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, pepperoncini, sliced turkey, sliced cheese, and house-made dressing. The pizza is savory, deep, decadent rich, and thick--almost lasagna like! The crust is crispy and flakey. Really delicious. If you're in the area, try this authentic pizza while you still can!

I make better salads and dressings! We ordered a large pan pizza which was overly salty with burnt crust edges. The cheese and tomato sauce were really good, but the saltiness killed it for me. The place was packed and very noisy. Not sure if it was quieter on the second floor. When you have lots of customers, it's important to have a system of checking the status of the restrooms very often. They were quite neglected. We often have out-of-town and foreign guests to host and show off our city to. We always include a deep dish pizza meal for their experience, and usually at Lou Malnati's. Always a great experience, especially the branch in downtown Naperville- consistently good. And Lou's really makes the best salad than anywhere! Sometimes for a potluck contribution I just pick up a Lou's salad, guaranteed to make everyone happy. However, our guests enjoyed the pizza and dessert; thus, I can give 3 stars for our experience at Pequod's.

This was my very first Chicago deep-dish pizza experience, and now I understand why everyone talks about it. The buttery crust, layers of cheese, flavorful sauce, and generous toppings made every bite worth the wait. One thing I would definitely recommend is making a reservation if you can. This place is popular for a reason! We waited a little over 35 minutes for a table, but luckily a couple of spots opened up at the bar, and we grabbed them right away. The atmosphere was lively, the staff was friendly, and the pizza was everything I hoped it would be.

They came by to ask us how we were doing - probably they could see us bored waiting for the pizza. Yes, the deep dish pizza takes a while to cook. We ordered several for our big group, so we knew there would be some time to kill. If I had known we could pre-order, I would have done so. The phone message system is not very clear. Also I made a reservation on Open Table, but the host wasn't really acknowledging them. I had to go check in to make sure they had my name down. Classic $38.25 (large, has 8 slices) / highly recommend this one. I love it so much! Hot honey $40.25 for deep dish large size - this was ok to try but not as strong as I'd like Margherita pesto - ehh, I wouldn't get it again The Lou - I also wouldn't get this again when the classic is so good!
