I came here for dinner with a former coworker (and now friend) of mine after finding out she was in Chicago for business. I was able to easily get a reservation for that night, which is great since I wanted to show her around West Loop since the weather was so nice. We were seated quickly and our waiter was very attentive and helpful when we were choosing what to order. He offered insight and was very patient with us since it took us a little while to look at the menu since we were so busy catching up! The cocktails were fun - I got the Secret Garden and she got the Flower Power. Both were delicious and beautifully made. We ended up splitting the warm stuffed dates and local burrata. These lasted us a while and well into when we got our main course. Both were so delicious! I ended up getting the Pistachio Ravioli since it caught my eye. For dessert, we split the Blueberry & Almond - which was a blueberry Earl Grey sherbet with almond whip. It was perfect to finish out our meal. The ambiance was wonderful. This was my first time dining here. I really loved the interior design regarding the aesthetic and the ambiance, especially with the beautiful lights and plants everywhere. I recently had the opportunity to visit Cira for both dinner and brunch. Great Ambience, friendly service, lively vibe and good brunch food with average dinner menu! For dinner, I visited Cira on a Friday evening. The restaurant was bustling with amazing energy, and we were promptly seated. The staff was delightful and displayed great courtesy throughout our meal. Drinks were really good (Pisco sour was on point) however, I found the food to be somewhat mediocre. We ordered muhammara, warm dates with goat cheese, pistachio ravioli, and the beet salad. While the concept behind the dishes was creative and promising, unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite come together to me. Interestingly, the following day my friend made reservations for us to have brunch at Cira. I have to say, the experience was notably better. I don't even know where to begin! The food, drinks, staff, decor, and music were all awesome! Even the restroom is beautiful inside with these beautiful mermaid tiles, AND they have this hand lotion that leaves your hands feeling so soft. The menu is meant to be shared, so between the two of us, we ordered 4 small plates and 2 entrées and it was way too much food. The muhammara was one of my favorite items, which was served with a super soft and flavorful pita bread. The pistachio ravioli is a 10/10, as long as you don't have a nut allergy you must try this dish! The goat cheese stuffed dates were also good, a perfect dessert. The Muhammara with the pita was very flavorful, the pita was nice and fluffy as well. The orecchiette and grain bowl were decent, I'm just not a huge fan of lamb (in the orecchiette dish). Did my third round of dinners at Cira recently, and each time we think the same thing: people look great here, but the food is only ever OK. Hummus, falafel, and other Mediterranean standards are fine here but great elsewhere. I don't even have a problem with the prices, given that this is buried in the West Loop. It's just that I would rather eat at Aba or etta before coming here...heck, I love Falafel & Grill on Milwaukee as a lower-brow Greek/Mediterranean place to grub before coming into the West Loop! The food and ambiance were both still as great as last time! I did really enjoy my smoked salmon toast, which also had buttery eggs on top and was a hearty and satisfying breakfast/brunch option. I have to deduct a star because this most recent time we went, the service was extremely slow and perhaps they could improve their staffing so that each table can have a better experience. We had to ask 3 separate times for a box for our left over sandwich and 3 separate times for the check. Each time there was a nod of acknowledgement but no actual action towards getting the requested item. The crowd is a great mix of mature adults dressed casually but chic. No dance floor, this is more for the seat dancer and standing floaters. Gets very loud, so not a scene for an intimate date. We were seated and didn't put in our drink order until 30 minutes after we were seated. Food was probably 45 minutes. Our first drink did not arrive until after we had our first app. Everything is made to be family style. To start we had marinated olives and the brown butter hummus. I loved this olives, they were perfect. The brown butter hummus was also delicious served with two big warm pitas. To drink wit had the vodka cocktail with pear. This was amazing. It had a smokiness to it. I had 3! Next from the small plate section we had the lamb/sausage dish. The sauce on this made the dish along with the marinated cucumbers. Big portion for a small dish. From the pasta section we got the pistachio ravioli. This may have been my favorite pasta I have ever had. It was so creamy and flavorful, overall just a beautiful dish. I came in here for a date night, and let me tell you it absolutely killed it. Cira does mostly smaller plates to share and I loved every bite. From the wrapped feta to the lamb kofta, every bite was a new experience. The cocktails were also very good. The burrata and brown butter hummus were good as well but nothing to write home about; not sure that the brown butter did anything to elevate the hummus. The brisket ends also had great flavor and texture, super tender and slightly sweet/savory glaze, but the rice and sauce that came with it, not so much (too salty, dry rice), and the portion size was insulting: 3 very small cubes on a smattering of rice. Love the design of this place, and they have great breakfast. Probably walked by 1000 times and finally stopped in for brunch a while back. We typically go to Beatrix across the street and wanted to try something different. Love the breakfast, good coffee, feels like you're on vacation! Glad it's close to home. Great service. Came here for brunch with a friend as we needed something reasonably close to the Mart. They were flexible when we needed to push our reservation 15 minutes thanks to traffic, and were warm and inviting when we arrived. It's the front of a hotel so you do see people going in and out with their suitcases, but I didn't feel out of place as a non-guest. The brunch energy was vibrant thanks to the DJ (!!!) spinning tunes live and all the warm lighting. They have a pretty substantial brunch menu with a wide variety of favorites and takes on classic Mediterranean dishes. I ordered the shakshuka which was cooked with a properly runny egg. It was substantial; I had a good amount to take home for breakfast the next day. My friend got the brisket hash which she loved--those were some big chunks of brisket! Despite them being so busy, our server was on top of everything and made sure we were well taken care of. Street parking can be difficult on a weekend, but it's not impossible. It all depends on what you're looking for... My family and I were out celebrating my brother's bday. Most of my family are over 40, so the Luxury of an evening at Cira seems to be the fit. I will mention it was the Friday night of Thanksgiving 2023, so many people were out. We called in to make reservations and were seated right away. One of my favorite aspects of Cira is their Phenomenal drink menu. I think they have one of the best old fashions in the city. I will note they have a rotating menu, and at this time, they were serving primarily Mediterranean food. They do, however, have a constant menu, which is in their black book with their drinks. Once I found this out, I ordered a pretty decent burger. Double patty cooked medium with some fries. My sister got the hummus and pistachio Ravioli, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our waitress was kind and helpful. The rest of the fam was there for drinks which they enjoyed, and they shared aside of fries. We did intend to stay and go to the speakeasy downstairs; however, the line was a bit too long. Shoutouts to the DJ, but there isn't an actual dance floor at the Hoxton, so you must groove in your seat. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but it was a bit pricy. My friends and I enjoyed the drinks. The Bellinis made for a refreshing summer treat.
