Very good sandwiches and large menu. A bit buttery. In all honesty the sandwiches were really good but the person taking the order was not friendly and awkward. They also don't have a bathroom which is crazy to me. Very limited indoor seating.

Really good sandwich and hit the spot after walking around downtown Charleston. Solid but not something I would drive back down for. If I'm in the area, great, if not I'd go to Porchetta Shop

Tuna Sandwich

While I probably should have tried one of their more unique options I was craving a tuna sandwich hard and I'm delighted to say it did not disappoint! This was the perfect tuna sandwich, the ratios were all there with the perfect amount of mayo, tuna and the accompaniments. My only note would be that I didn't particularly care for the toasted bread it came on, I would have preferred a softer bread but overall incredible sandwich.

The place is small. I went in to order some takeout, and that part of their business was booming, whereas only one person was doing dine-in, which is understandable since they have very limited seating. I would not say that service is done with a smile, but the food was indeed good. I really enjoyed the Circe's Style Grilled Cheese -- Sharp White Cheddar, Gouda, Avocado, Tomato, and would come back here again if I was looking for something simple and kind of quick.

My favorite panini shop in Charleston!!! I love this place so much ! The paninis are always so tasty and delicious I crave them now that I don't live in Charleston anymore. I would recommend the turkey melt it's my favorite. It's located right near CofC, if you're in the area it's 100% worth the try. I would definitely recommend 5/5

The downtown corner this shop occupies exemplifies Charleston's old-timey vibe. This includes being a small shop with a lack of air conditioning, with some seating outdoors as well. The menu is mostly sandwiches and I hesitated a bit at ordering a salad, mainly because I thought I'd missed the toasted bread. However, I was delighted when my salad arrived with a couple of slices on the side; for someone who is strictly trying to cut carbs or gluten I guess this would be a miss, but for me it allowed ample satisfaction. The salad itself was excellent, with delicate spinach and just enough variety to excite the palate, including fresh green peas and some pine nuts. I also got a chai, which comes with oat milk by default. I was a bit baffled at this, because their food menu does not have any vegan options at all, so I guess if you're avoiding dairy all you can do here is get a beverage and some chips. This seems like something they could address. As it is, this is a pricey place for a sandwich and it is often packed on weekends, but there is some charm and some quality there.

The food is really good here. We had four sandwiches total and each got drinks. It's a little pricey but we got our food quick and it's a great place in Charleston to grab and go. We ate on the patio and the guy at the front taking orders was friendly.

Ok 9 years later I'm back! Well the seating is a lot better with very cute alley seating available outside. They've expanded their menu with much more varied and interesting stuff now. However, I'll have to keep the stars to 3 because their food remains boring. I'm not sure how their sandwiches can be so tasteless but miracles do happen i guess. They don't taste bad....they just lack any kind of exciting flavor.

10/10!!!! Their tuna melt...turkey melt...bacon egg and cheese...I could go on and on it's all amazinggggg. The service is efficient and everyone who works there is friendly and welcoming. Their bread is so homeade and their sandwhiches are the best in all of Charleston. I also love their chip options. I recommend this place to everyone!!!!

If you need a quick but delicious bite in Charleston, look no further. Sandwiches made fresh. The menu looks so good that I want to come back every day of my trip. Best bacon egg and cheese sandwich I've ever had. 10/10

Overall: A great sandwich that overcomes some of the Grotto's downsides. The good: Their melts and sandwiches are delicious and filling. The oven roasted turkey sandwich is simple but effective, with loads of turkey, cheese, crispy bacon, tomato, and chipotle mayo. The breat was slightly toasted and buttered to perfection. The menu is well-sized and the outdoor eating area is neat if you're able to get a spot. The not-so-good: No restrooms and no water (everything is bottled). Prices are pretty high for a sandwich, but they are monster-sized and will certainly fill you up (doesn't include chips). Not a ton of seating outside, and even less inside. Food/drink: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 7.5/10

Circe's Grotto is the perfect spot to grab breakfast on a Saturday morning. Their fresh, local ingredients set them above the rest. Their shaded outdoor patio is an inviting, dog-friendly place to enjoy sunshine and sandwiches.

Both were generous with fillings, great flavor, and carefully cooked (so easy to burn a crepe....) I also got a lunch special, which was a reuben with cabbage and potatoes as sides. I do not remember the price, but this was a real meal. The bread held up well, the sides were well seasoned, and I enjoyed every bite. Coffee (self serve) was good quality and they made sure the pot was never empty. Service was from the counter and was genuinely friendly. They were all part of the casual atmosphere. The place is relaxed and has a real neighborhood vibe. We ate many great meals during our stay in Charleston, many fancy and some low key. Queen Street stands out as the most pleasant of surprises.

A review posted in honor of the experience one of my friends had this past week -…read more My husband and I came to Charleston specifically for the food, and out of all the amazing meals we had, Miller's All Day was hands down our favorite. We came for breakfast and started with the banana bread with Nutella cream cheese -- absolutely incredible. We also split the cornmeal pancakes, which were so good we came back the next morning just to have them again. I ordered the B.E.C. with the home fries, and I can honestly say they may have been the best potatoes I've ever had in any form. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and they practically melted in my mouth. My husband had the turkey club and said it was fantastic as well. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and memorable. We loved it so much we went back the very next day. 10/10 -- highly recommend if you're visiting Charleston!

Second, this is one of the few places that's still having you scan a QR-code at the table for the menu. ...So, we're sitting down at this cool restaurant, with southern hospitality vibes, and we're being directed to pull out our phones to pull up the menu and then spend a good minute with our faces in our phones trying to decide what we want. Vibe killer, for sure. I would rather have a nicely-designed card stock menu with an eggy fingerprint or a coffee stain than sitting at the table with my phone out waiting for the menu to download and then trying to navigate it while discussing it with the server, who in our case, was a bit impatient. And also loud and impersonal while I'm at it. So, we ended up ordering: BISCUITS AND GRAVY-- this was the best thing we ordered. Rosemary presence was just right (love Rosemary but not too much). The pickled ocra on the side was perfectly pickled and crisp, which was a wonderful contrast to the scrambled eggs and gravy-soaked biscuits. I wish I could've walked out with a jar of them. Only complaint was I wish that there were some small chunks of sausage in the gravy. CINNAMON ROLL- this was impressive, a biscuit cinnamon roll pulled high with a whipped, airy cream cheese frosting. Wasn't the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. If there was a classic ooey gooey cinnamon roll near by, I'd pick that. Still appreciated it as something different that was executed well and highlighted their biscuits. MILLERS PLATE (I think that was the name of it)-- it was a basic breakfast platter with eggs, choice of breakfast meat (my son chose bacon), home fries, and a biscuit. My son said it was basic, but that his potatoes were over-fried and greasy. PATATAS BARAVAS-- my husband got this and said that the sausage was sparse and it was overloaded by large chunks of potato. If you're going to pay nearly $20 for a plate, it shouldn't be primarily filled with filler like potato. He said flavor was nice, though. Also, he missed on the menu that the meat was a "brisket sausage" and not "brisket AND sausage," so worth noting if, like him, you would be looking forward to the latter. This is pay at the table. They also pre-set tip options to 20, 22, and 25%. And our server stood there waiting for us to complete our transaction. Hate that. If you must use a pay at the table device, be classy and review the ticket with the patron, give a kind farewell, and then give them step away to give them space to decide on the total and tip without pressure. Also, we nearly never tip less than 20% and more often tip more, but it puts a bad taste in my mouth whenever suggested tips start at 20 or more percent and go higher. Bit presumptuous. On the way out we had to stop and grab some pics from the Photo Booth. This was a fun touch. Glad to have tried this spot while making a pit stop in Charleston. Has special breakfast/brunch vibes, for sure. Just a few things that could be improved.
