What a find! My buddy recommended this to us as we were staying close by. The food was great and the views were even better! I will say I'd skip the soups, just didn't taste homemade, more commercial. But other than that from the ceviche to the fried basket was delish! I would love to come back and try way more!! The boys enjoyed the beer and cocktail offerings, but I don't drink so I can't comment on that. Happy eating!

Love this spot. When we go paddle boarding in weekends we always stop at here for post-paddle lunch! Their chicken sandwich is incredible - the bread really makes it, as do the fried pickles. Perfect combo of juicy chicken, lettuce, tomato, and some sort of delicious aioli. Fries are also incredible - like skinny bistro fries. Their fish Bahn Mi is also amazing!! You can get most any fish they offer prepared how you want for it. I got halibut. Def recommend! Their ceviche is good but comes in sort of an awkward vessel so it's hard to scoop out. Also would be better with like fried wonton chips instead of tortilla chips. Their CRAB CAKE!!! Get the double order. It is so light and delicious and about the size and thickness of a hockey puck with a crispy outer served on top of an unexpected curry sauce. I'm not even that big of a curry sauce fan and this is just sweet and luscious - ask for a side of sriracha to make it a full 10/10!

Food - seafood inspired but also has burger, fish bowls, tataki, lobster roll, fish taco, shrimp cocktail, Bánh mi, fish burger, sides, beer and other drinks. Had the burger and it didn't disappoint. Had their fish burger as well. Service - good and friendly Ambiance - there is a small indoor seating with bar, there is also outdoor seating with harbor view. Great barnacles! Verdict - as is with any Bear Flag resto, this also does well. Been back more than 3 times so it must be a great place for me!

Came for drinks on a busy summer Saturday afternoon. The area was bustling but the restaurant itself didn't appear too busy. We sat right away and ordered a cocktail and 2 michiladas. Our wait was way too long. My cocktail came out first which was interesting since mixing a cocktail is more complicated than simply making two michiladas. The cocktail was really good and it's a beautiful view, but the service wasn't top notch.

*Circle Hook on the Water* Located on dock side of the beautiful Lido Marina Village. First time dining at Circle Hook, tho I've been to their younger sibling Bearflag dozens of times since they first docked ship on Lido. Decided on Circle Hook for a weekday foursome family early dinner, because we all wanted fish in a casual environment setting, within walking distance. Menus on chalkboards and more signs on the wall, wait in line to place orders, receive a number to place on the table of your choice -- pretty standard system at fish market types of restos. Though the table we chose outside with a view of the harbor was nice, you can feel every footstep made by the passerby's, on the dockside wooden plank floor on a busy walkway. 3 of us chose Halibut but it was kinda dry & chewy.Thankfully the delicious ginger sauce saved it for me because the fish was just okay. We all agreed. Dad's salmon was pretty good. But salmon is salmon and this one was nothing special and basic. Sides: (choice of 2) 3 of us chose mixed herb veggies which were good. But. All the pieces of Brussel sprouts were way too undercooked and nearly raw. Major bummer because I love B spouts. Wifey and stepmom didn't eat theirs. Being the only one who had French fries, I enjoyed them. And so did Dad's & Stepmom's dog -- they took a handful home in a napkin, as Dad always does because he loves to surprise his pup with a little treat of some sort when dining out. (Btw & fyi it's very pup friendly here at Lido Marina Village with lots of dogs everywhere) The cilantro rice was good. The Asian slaw was too sour & salty and taken home to salvage and camouflage into a salad the next day for lunch. Wifey thought her regular slaw was "just okay" and I agree about both slaws. The shrimp ceviche (not pictured) was good but way too spicy for 3 of us 4 -- including me. The blue & yellow corn chips were decent, but not as fresh as they should be. The service was nice and prompt but nothing too memorable. It felt slightly robotic. Wanted to rate this higher, but at a seafood joint, the fish should be the stars of the show. Would I return? Maybe to try a Lobster roll or fish tacos. But I'd rather go to Malibu Farm that's nextdoor...or up the street to Bearflag instead.

Perfect view, impeccable food, so happy!

Fantastic food and service! Highly recommend! We loved the calamari and prickly pear margaritas too.

Being on Lido Isle for work and choosing a lunch location is such a hard choice! There are so many good spots to choose from. Luckily I was with my best friend and she is familiar with the area. We both wanted seafood and something casual. Next to Nobu is this charming seaport-esque looking restaurant. It has a great view of the marina and boats. It is like a an upscale hole-in-the-wall spot lol. What I mean by that is it is casual dining, but it is still semi boujee. I was craving a soup. Lobster Bisque hit the spot! It was creamy delicious. It had some good pieces of lobster in it too. For my entree -- I ordered the Fish and Chips. They offered either fries or coleslaw or both. Of course I said both! Who doesn't like a good coleslaw and boy, oh, boy... their coleslaw was bomb.com! I personally love coleslaw and this one was one of the best. It was fresh and flavor wasn't overpowered. I am not a fan of mushy and too sweet coleslaw. Parking is always difficult here, but parking garage is always the way to go! But since I was working at Lido Theater today -- I was able to get away with free parking there.

Eating at any restaurant in Lido is automatically a great experience just because you're looking out at the water. Service was quick and attentive, and the seafood tasted fresh! I'd definitely come back again to try their other menu items.

A little nosh before dinner. Yum!

I always love stopping at Circle Hook during an afternoon at Lido. The harbor view is spectacular, the service is fast, friendly, and efficient, and the food is fresh and delicious.

If you love seafood and dining by the water, you should try this spot in Newport Beach. Circle Hook is located in the Lido Marina Village. If you're lucky you can find street parking but otherwise there's a paid parking garage nearby. The ambience is beachy and casual. You order at the counter before seating yourself. There are tables inside and outside with relaxing views of the marina which is one of the main selling points about this place. I tried the Seafood Chowder ($14/10 oz.) and a Crab Cake ($14). The bowl of chowder was tasty and filled to the brim with fish, lobster, crab and potatoes. The crab cake could've been better. It was thin and didn't have a lot of crab. For the non-seafood eaters, they have a Grass-Fed Burger ($19). It was a little over cooked but the tomato aioli and other toppings made up for it. The service was quick and friendly on a Friday afternoon. I would come back on a nice, sunny day to try their fish and chips next time.

Excellent fish, great location, and super friendly staff. The fish and chips are feast and clean. Highly recommend going here.

Circle Hook is a great seafood spot with a beautiful view. Perfect for enjoying fresh flavors by the water. You order food at the front counter and then they bring it out to you. What I tried: *Shrimp Aguachile - 5/5 Refreshing and packed with flavor *Baja Style Fish Tacos - 5/5 Fresh fish with all the right toppings *Local Fish Banh Mi - 5/5 Absolutely delicious!Bold, fresh flavors in every bite. *Lobster Roll - 3.5/5 Just okay. Not bad, but I've had better elsewhere. Unfortunately, I didn't get many pictures before diving into the food

The attention to detail in the aesthetics/remodel is stunning with rattan lamps and plants, super spacious seating, cute patio furniture sets, 2 bars, & lots of backdrop photo opportunities. It honestly feels like a tropical oasis. They have recently remodeled and enclosed the space, making it perfectly private and cozy while blocking the wind. Parking in the garage, and walking up the elevator, finding the place was easy! The service here is superb, friendly, and quick. Photos on social media, website, and Yelp/Google simply do NOT do this place justice! At first a little skeptical normally cute places don't have good food, or vice versa good food but not a cute place. This place definitely delivered beyond both great food, cute ambience and more! Some of the poor quality photos and negative reviews made me a little nervous but our experience was nothing like it or maybe we are all not super humans and this place really listened and valued the feedback and stepped it up. Planning a surprise 70th birthday from out of town esp the event planner that I am, finding the perfect cute place and good food fitting for the birthday girl and our large family can be extremely challenging - you normally can not have it all. We actually canceled another place in hopes that Casa de Onda would deliver and execute the specific criterias we were looking for - yummy flavorful food, great service, and cute vibes; it's always all about the vibes now! Alex, the owner, was so prompt, responsive, patient, and helpful while we planned everything with multiple emails and proposals. Even though there was a preset menu option for our group of 27, they accommodated pre-orders off their regular menu which was more impressive since our guests came all the way from the Bay Area and some are locally and we love to always try a little of everything. Alex even checked in on us personally on the day of, super sweet. Our day-of host, Dave, was friendly, hardworking, and chillax, he was organized and have read through the email communication (which most others won't). Jessica and Rachelle were sweet and hustled to get our food and drinks out incredibly fast, and Arturo the bartender was super nice and quick with the drinks at the bar when we arrived early. The food was spectacular! This is not your bland overpriced Mexican American fusion as we are big on authentic and hole in the wall mom and pop kinda food. It is incredibly flavorful and beautifully plated/presented. The Vampire Asada and Pork Belly Tacos were a huge hit! This order was perfect with barely any leftovers for a group of 27 (22 adults and 5 kids). It is always extremely hard trying not to under or over order but we preordered a minimum and ordered a tad more day of which was so perfect. We had the food scheduled to come out back to backs for my hungry family Starters: 5:30pm 3 Chips & Salsa 2 Asada Nachos 2 Gem salad 3 Burrata heirloom tomatoes 3 Shrimp ceviche 3 Elote Corn riblets Tacos: 5:45pm 9 Vampire Asada 9 Pork Belly Total x 2 each = 36 tacos Entree: 6:00pm 3 Steak and truffle fries 3 Mole braised short ribs 3 Shrimp and fried grits 7:00pm Cake & Sing Happy Birthday! Brought and cut our own cake Nice of them to have sparklers for us! 7:15pm Sing surpise Happy Birthday to our 5 year old niece! Brownie cookie and ice cream This looked hella good saw that the kids devoured this lol 7:30pm Family photo/depart Kinda regret not ordering enchiladas and desserts but still ecstatic of the overall food, drinks and experience. Our family eats quick as anticipated, we finished the event within 2.5 hours (5pm-730pm), I wished we were able to spend another 1 hour or and just hang out to enjoy the place but the elders were done lol but now know of this place, we will def be back! Additional details: They also provided cute custom menus for our orders, which helped our guests know exactly what delicious food was coming out. The drinks were beautifully presented in cute cups, with the Mexican Strawberry Mule being a crowd favorite! The patio bar was so cute too, it felt we were on vacation in Cabo/Cancun They also have patio heaters/plenty of shade and music was cool! They have plenty of TV screens for the games, and even surprised us by a screen rollout already set up by our table when we arrive just for the NBA finals as I asked in emailed if there are nearest tvs but did not expect anything. This probably was the ultimate thoughtful gesture caring that was everything! Thank you so much Alex & Casa de Onda, for taking such a wonderful, warm, inviting, and thoughtful care with your heart and soul of our mom's 70th surprise birthday and making it an unforgettable celebration for our family as if it was your own family! You deserve a thousand stars and more!
