As a main course, I ordered the surf and turf. Not only were the appetizers great,the cocktails great, the service was second to no one. Came in for dinner with my girlfriend and her meetup group after a Duffy boat harbor cruise. Convenient because Billy's at the beach and the Newport elite harbor tours share a parking lot. Food was tasty, the location is fantastic right on Newport harbor with many tables having a wonderful view of the water and passing boats. Prices are reasonable for a waterfront dinner in Newport. Parking in their lot is valet only with a charge of $25 so not cheap but very convenient. There are lower cost options if you're willing to walk a block or 4 for street or municipal lot parking spaces. Service was good and attentive, especially considering the size of our group, 11 people. Tip is included in large groups. We would return in the future. read more

Wow! My first time there. My daughter was given the option to choose ANY restaurant to celebrate her graduation and she chose Billy's. GREAT pick!! The food VERY NICE! The service was beyond EXCELENT! I had a large group and still EVERYTHING was basically PERFECT! Thank you for the great evening! I would score this place a 10 out of 10. The only negative thing I could give you a heads up is the valet parking. All good for the $10 + tip but they brought the car around and stopped like 3 car links back and walked away (where there is water runoff from the next building that you would literally be stepping in as you load up). Stunning spot on the harbor. Fun tiki vibe decor throughout the restaurant as well. We came in for lunch and we were seated at the window with a beautiful view of the harbor. Sierra, our server, greeted us warmly and made a few recommendations from their menu. We ordered our entrees as she circled back with our waters and within minutes our food was out. I ordered the Loco Moco and it was wonderful! Reminiscent of my days in Maui, wonderful beef gravy served over two over easy eggs with ground beef patty (cooked to a medium rare, juicy and delicious) and white rice. Hubs had the beachside burger and found it to be very tasty. Our son had fish tacos and felt they were delicious, he did comment that the hot sauce (on the side) was a bit too spicy. Billy's is sandwiched between two 4 star plus restaurants and equally rated $$$ for cost. Went there only because someone in my group wanted Pina Colada's. I never usually go to places that are 3 stars and they lived up to it. 5 white wines on the list 4 out of 5 are the pungent Green grass Sauvignon blanc and Chardonnay which most people hate but restaurants are pushed to carry. The last selection was Pinot Grigio and of course they were out of it. Service was slow and grueling to wait for. Got the pu pu platter. If you love cocktails...and who doesn't? Billy's Mai Tai is very tasty served with a wedge of pineapple. They hit the mark with the crushed ice in this drink. The 12 oz pork chop with pineapple teriyaki is served with your choice of 2 sides. The pork chop was perfectly prepared and the sauce really added great flavor. I am a huge fan of McDonald's fries and these are like elevated McDonald's fries. They are not greasy and you can tell they are made with real potatoes. The second side I ordered was the vegetables. Every review mentions the Mai Tai and I now see why. Believe the hype, they are fantastic here. Place has a relaxing Polynesian vibe with beautiful view of Newport Harbor. Valet is $10 cash only plus tip but it's expected in this area. My wife and I really enjoyed the food. Weekend has a brunch menu but they also have the regular menu. I had a daily fish special that came with a flavor packed serrano chile sauce. Served with surprisingly tasty vegetables and fries. The Mai Tai packed a punch so I also tried a virgin pina colada. Came here for Valentine's Day with my husband and had a wonderful time. They had a special multi-course menu that was pretty good (Please consider adding more vegan and vegetarian friendly options). The waiter was very nice and attentive. Views are always beautiful. I will say, I would have preferred to be in the main dining room where the live music was instead of in the bar area which is where the event was held but it certainly didn't ruin the evening, just not as romantic as it could have been. This is Hawaiian inspired restaurant that you can feel the Hawaiian feel the moment you walk in. They are located right at the water with limited parking, but offer valet parking. I went here with my coworkers based on the recommendation of one of them and she was not wrong. They offer plenty of options that you would typically see in Hawaii. My bf loves Hawaii and I for sure have to bring him here to try this place. I wasn't hungry, but tried a coconut shrimp which was delicious and HUGE! I also tried their cheese bread and I really enjoyed it. My favourite when in HI is the Lava Flow drink. I didn't see it on the menu so I asked the server. She was super nice and said they can make it and it's part of the mocktails. She did say that they could probably make the real deal (with rum) and they did! It was delicious! I celebrated my birthday at Billy's by the Beach on Saturday, March 7th and had an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch and the atmosphere was exactly what you want when celebrating a special occasion in Newport. A huge thank you to the GM Sam, who went above and beyond to make sure my group and I were taken care of all night. It's rare to see management so involved and attentive, and it really made a difference. The food was phenomenal -- everything was fresh and full of flavor. The seared ahi was incredible and the steak skewers were perfectly cooked. You can really tell they take pride in their menu. The ambience was great, especially being right by the water, and the outside bartender was absolutely killing it the whole night. He handled my pretty wild and difficult group like a pro and kept the drinks coming with a great attitude. Overall it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Politely taken on a ride Valentine's Day is fun. Here's the play by play. Valet entry. One of the staff had a chip on their shoulder and were given a hard time for waiting for our dinner time. I needed to pick up cash at the bank across and was reminded they they charge a higher price if we were dining else which we were not I just needed to get cash to pay them After the confrontation we went in to get seated. Inside the restaurant. Ambience was nice. Unfortunately for us there was a last minute price change to the pre fix menu was we were told $75 for the pre fix but found out on arrival it was $85 so I let it go and carried on. Regular menu was more for people who drink alcohol so if you drink maybe a better experience. "I don't really drink " Server was nice and attentive The food was severely poor 1st course was reasonable as if bar food was the norm for this place. 2nd course. No seasoning what so ever and a lack of skill and prep for cooking cod or scallops. Even the vegetables were inedible Had a entree with fries and was given stale fries. The only thing not terrible was plain rice which itself was low effort. Dessert was not memorable for me to see a cake with over oily chocolate sauce and questionable cream. The key lime pie most likely was outsourced but decent. The bill arrived and was charged $220. No alcohol bought , disgusting food And a forced tip of 20% which was not disclosed at all. On top of a sales tax that was beyond 7.75% for Newport they used a higher sales tax. Than normal. me dislike Valentine's Day the most commercialized non holiday ever. So terrible food , overcharged , rude valet service But a good server which was not getting her normal tips. Probably and just did enough to help but to be honest. Last night was the second time that we went to Billy's at the Beach after we first discovered it a few weeks ago. Both times the Food and Service were impeccable! Upon arrival we were cheerfully greeted by the hostess and she double-checked to make sure our table was ready for us to be seated. Our server Gracie was at our table within a minute of being seated and she helped us select great appetizers after taking our drink order. We chose the Guacamole with Chips and the Cheese Bread. The Guacamole was by far the best Guacamole that I've ever had. Kudos to the chef for not including cheap fillers such as Tomatoes (which are not included in the original recipe for Guacamole)! By themselves, the Chips were Thin, Crispy & Warm. The Salsa served alongside the Chips & Guac was also a winner. The Cheese Bread was outstanding! I could have made a meal of that if I didn't already know how amazing the Entrees were going to be. We had the Huli Huli Chicken, Glazed Pork Chop, Black Sesame Crusted Seared Ahi and the Pu Pu Platter. We shared our entrees family-style and everything was delicious! I especially enjoyed the Huli Huli Chicken and the Black Sesame Crusted Seared Ahi. For dessert we shared the Coconut Cream Pie, Chocolate Lava Cake and the Key Lime Pie. For those of you who are lukewarm about Coconut, the Coconut Cream Pie will make you love it! This oversize dessert has a perfectly balanced Coconut flavor on a thick homemade crust. The Chocolate Lava Cake came out and the high quality chocolate wafted around our table. Moist outer cake without any of the burnt-edge issues that most other restaurants can't seem to get right. It is served with delicious vanilla ice cream that complements the Chocolate Lave Cake perfectly. My only issue is that the serving size is much too small......about 2" high and the diameter of an Oreo cookie. Dwarfed by the portions of the other desserts. I recommend they fill a 6" diameter ramekin and keep it at least 2" - 3" high. The Key Lime pie was another stellar dessert. I could taste the fresh Key Lime Juice and the buttery Graham Cracker crust made it even better. I can't recommend Billy's at the Beach enough! I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment in the experience my husband and I had at Billy's at the Beach on April 9, 2026, during what should have been one of the most meaningful evenings of our lives--my husband's birthday dinner, our first birthday celebration as husband and wife, and our one-year engagement anniversary. I made a reservation through OpenTable well in advance and specifically requested a window seat with a view of the bay. That request was completely disregarded. Upon arrival, we discovered that a film crew for @realhousewivesoforangecounty had taken over a significant portion of the restaurant. Before we even had the chance to check in, a cameraman shoved past me without so much as an apology--a deeply rude and unacceptable first impression. When I reminded the hostess of my special seating request, I was told that half of the restaurant was unavailable due to the filming. We were seated in a bar area beneath a plastic tent with a subpar, obstructed view--nothing remotely close to what was promised or requested. This is completely unacceptable. Paying customers should never be relegated to inferior seating because management chose to accommodate a television production without any regard for their existing reservations. I understand that the production may have compensated the restaurant financially, but that does not give Billy's at the Beach the right to silently downgrade the experience of guests who booked in good faith. What is most infuriating is the lack of communication. A simple heads-up--a phone call, an email, anything--would have allowed us to make other arrangements. We would have immediately chosen to dine elsewhere. Instead, we wasted our time driving there, only to have a special, irreplaceable evening ruined. This was not just a bad dinner. This was a failed birthday, a failed milestone, and a complete failure of basic customer respect. Not even a happy birthday wish. The special event was noted at time of reservation and again when we seated. I strongly caution anyone planning a special occasion to look elsewhere. What makes this even more disappointing is that today is July 17, 2026--more than three months after our visit--and not a single person from Billy's at the Beach has reached out to apologize, acknowledge what happened, or make any effort to make things right. That level of indifference speaks volumes about how little this restaurant values its guests once they have your money. The complete lack of accountability has only reinforced our decision never to return. read more

We ordered soups and tempura green beans and everything tasted great. The clam chowder is very good, with lots of chunks of clam! Their famous mai tai was just ok, though. This is the second or third time that I have been here. We were 16 for brunch. My neighbor had Loco Moco which she said was great. Half went home. My other side was shrimp Louie.
