I love this place. Second time going. The first visit was on a busy Saturday. I just went in for a miso soup because I wasn't feeling well. After waiting for a while they came back with a cup and said it was free. How nice. Second visit was yesterday and I sat down for sushi at the bar around 2 PM, close to when they close. It wasn't as busy as last time I came. First, the place is very clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is calm. Their sushi menu is massive and they have some very interesting original rolls I'd love to try. I ordered the Vegetable A roll which has a Japanese omelette and avocado inside. Very delicious and refreshing. I'd like to go back and try more rolls. Check out their menu online. They have so many interesting combinations to choose from. I ate sushi everywhere but circle sushi is hands down the best. The sushi rice is... 10 million times better than other places. And the price and quality. Wow. I choose this place over Umi. Uh yes I've been to Umi. But I thought the quality of fish was the same. The only difference between them is that they put caviar and truffles on sushi. Which is... not very authentic. But good. But if I have to choose between them, I'd def choose Circle sushi. Even if they were both free, I'd still choose circle sushi. My only complaint is that I want scallops on chirashi A again for lunch. I am always up for a trip to Circle Sushi. Absolutely, have to have a lunch bento box, it was my go-to meal for lunch almost every other Friday - aka pay day Friday - for 10+ years . Still meet friends their once or twice a year as it is a central point for many as we moved out of the Roswell area. Even came down during Covid closures to pick up to-go orders for picnics in a park. Salmon teriyaki was cooked to perfection with a nice glaze and the various rolls were always fresh - crunchy too. read more

This place is expensive for what you get. Service was poor. No water offered. Also, I arrived 35 minutes prior to close and they made it obvious that my time was limited and my presence was unwanted. Food wise the miso is good. But a spicy tuna hand roll for $7 without cucumber or avocado is $$$ I asked for everything without Wasabi, but salmon skin will had Wasabi in it, when I pointed that out the waitress just shrugged. read more

This was the best sushi I have ever had outside of Japan. Everything was super fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable. It was the first time for us and we went with a couple that had been there many times. Caution: once you have the sushi here you will be spoiled and nothing else around will come close. Dinner on a Friday night was not packed so we got seated right away. Server was extremely sweet and knowledgeable. Me and my fiance shared the sashimi omakase as well as different nigiris and sushi rolls. Miso was bland but ginger salad was tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the Uni, I definitely had better uni before. Really!!! I've been to Circle Sushi several times and it was ok. I was not impressed by it, but it was decent food. Also many people were raving about it, so I took MM to lunch here. It's his first time. We had to drove out of the way just to try this place. I thought I would get some good remarks from MM, since it should be a solid restaurant. When we first walked in, I saw the rating was 100 and I was really happy to see that. MM is very critical about the place he is eating. So I told myself that's a good sign. Once we sat down, I looked at the menu, they do have the lunch special Bento box, but they charge you extra $$$ if you want to switch your choices on the basic items. I would understand if you want eel or some fancy sushi, you would charge a little bit more, but this menu charged you on the beef and salmon teriyaki lunch box where most of other restaurants have the same price on those choices. Also you can only choose salad or soup for your lunchbox. With the price they are charging, it should come with both!! So I was a little bit annoyed by that. But I was thinking, at least the food should be decent, so I did not mind too much of it. After we sat down, I saw a big fly was circling the tables....that immediately put me in very bad mood. There is a reason I come to this restaurant and eat...to have a clean and enjoyable meal....but seeing a fly...that just gross me out. If I want a fly with my meal, I will get a hotdog and eat outside the 7-11 convenient store. This restaurant has already charge more than what they are supposed to, I demand to have a nice and enjoyable lunch....so I told the waiter about it....the waiter just laughed about it and did not do anything..... I thought Jacky Chen could kill a fly with his chopsticks... I did not ask the waiter to do the same, but at least apologize and do something.... but nothing was done about that issue. So I ended up used the green light soy sauce bottle to try to kill the fly while I was eating . But the fly was too quick.... When the entry finally came, I had the chicken teriyaki with the eel roll. The chicken was so hard, you can't even bite it down...and the meat was not marinated....Really....you are serving lower than shopping center food hall grade food to people?!!!! I thought at least the restaurant would put some efforts on the food they are serving So very very disappointed....so for whoever reading this review, if you want to have a good Japanese bento box value. go to TOMO, and their price is way better than here...... read more

It's not flashy hot spot scene like nobu or super expensive like sushi noz but their food is probably above both of them. read more

I went last night with a good buddy. My wife had been here previously and said the food was very good. I ordered the omakasi bento box to get a taste of a few different dishes. We also had the agedashi tofu and yellow tale jalapeno apps. Agedashi tofu is always a test when I go to a new Japanese restaurant. It did hot disappoint. The yellow tale was very fresh but I did not like the combo with the jalapeno. The bento was huge. They first brought out the cooked food which included a lamb chop (very tasty), a Tai snapper head and a mashed potato croquette. The Tai was delicious, very moist and favorable meat. You have to get a little messy eating this but totally worth it. The croquette was also very good, fried with a panko coating. Next came the cold bento, again a large portion including a mini Cali roll, a very nice assortment of sashimi including some yummy toro and I believe a nice portion of snapper. Very good and fresh. Why not 5 stars? Usually when entering a traditional Japanese restaurant, you are greeted with a warm welcome. We sat at the sushi bar and the owner never once acknowledged our presence. He said nothing during the entire meal, not even making eye contact. Not even a thank you as we were leaving. It left me with a strange feeling. It was an older man who I assumed to be the owner. Very good food but next time, if I go back, I'll sit at a table and avoid the cold reception. Or go to Tanaka. read more

I have been coming to Circle Sushi for years and always had a good experience. This is located in Sandy Springs right next door to YouFit. The staff is very friendly and very professional. I normally come during lunch because the prices for dinner a little more expensive. I noticed that the lunch menu has changed quite a bit. It use to be this huge book and now is only a long sheet of paper back and forth. My go to dish is always chirashi bowl. It comes in 2 sizes: A and B. A is $12 and B is $20. What makes this unique is the eel and the eel sauce in the middle of the rice. It is a nice touch! During my last visit I ordered the crazy salmon roll which is just a salmon roll with salmon on top. It was simple but the salmon was buttery and fresh. The lunch menu does not have gyoza but they will make it if you ask. Overall, a nice experience. To be honest I think the prices are a little expensive but the quality makes it worth it. read more

I went to Circle Sushi over 20 times. I have to say this is my favorite sushi restaurant in Atlanta. Yes, I'll rank it higher than Huku, Hayakawa, Taka, and the other top tier sushi restaurants. One reason is because of their Chirashi don. They have the best Chirashi don in Atlanta, hands down. Particularly, the lunch Chirashi is the best Chirashi you can have. For lunch, you have two choices: Chirashi A or Chirashi B. Chirashi A is about $12. It's an amazing deal. You get a ton of goodies. Most importantly, you get ikura. Chirashi B is about $18 and you get fancy stuff like Uni, fatty tuna, and whelk. But you don't get Ikura. I think for the price, Chirashi A is impossible to beat. There are other Chirashis in Atlanta that charge higher but offer like 2 pieces of fish. The dinner Chirashi is like a combination of the A&B Chirashi. You get a ton of goodies. It's about $28. Why is the Chirashi so good? Because they use high-quality, fresh fish, and they give you a ton of fish. Their rice is amazing. Each grain tastes great and flavored well. They have the special, "surprise" in the middle of the rice. I went on an Atlanta Chirashi tour to compare most of Atlanta's Chirashi. Trust me, Circle Sushi wins. I have tried their nigiris a la carte. It's exactly like the Chirashis, except in bite-sized pieces. The same care and craftsmanship goes into each nigiri. The rice is amazing, the fish is delectable, and the plating looks beautiful. I suggest getting their tamari sauces for the sushi. It's gluten free and tastes better than soy sauce in my opinion. You won't know they have it unless you're Japanese or ask for it. So make sure to ask for tamari sauce. Also, their green tea is amazing. It has a slight toasted taste. I have no idea what green tea they use, but I can drink a gallon of that every time I come here. They have a huge menu. Everything on the menu look delicious. But I suggest getting their Chirashi. It will ruin other Chirashis you get in Atlanta. read more

Seriously, BEST BENTO BOX award goes to... Circle Sushi! After many a quest and box after box around town, I can honestly say that this was the best one I've had yet. The lunch bento box is $8.50, with a mini seaweed salad, four pieces of tempura, chicken teriyaki, four piece cali roll, two pieces of sashimi and choice of soup or salad. Yelp "Ramen" led me to this place. Please note, they do NOT have ramen. They have Udon though that's pretty good. It's a legit Japanese establishment, which I can appreciate. Service - 5/5 - The service here is platinum level. VERY polite and accommodating. They were running a bit late on the sushi, so they openly comped our desserts Food - 4/5 - while I've certainly had better, circle sushi is probably the best in this area (we had the Udon, mixed tempura, Agedashi tofu, and a few rolls). So Yelp says I've been here 46 times. That's pretty crazy but coming here every other week adds up. It would be more if I didn't move out of state.. Anyways, I am very biased with sushi since 1 I'm Japanese, 2 my dad is a sushi chef, which means 3 I've been eating it my whole life. I mainly come here for one thing: the lunch chirashi. The fishes are really fresh, you get so many varieties of them, the rice has just the right amount of vinegar, and the price is cheap! I haven't been to any restaurant that serves such great chirashi for $12. If you pay in cash, make sure you get the buy 10 chirashi, get one chirashi free stamp card. Oh Circle Sushi.. I was very impressed by the quality of sushi here! My friend and I ordered a tempura appetizer with shrimp, asparagus, and pumpkin. The batter was light it came with a dipping sauce. Not the best tempura I've had, but a nice way to start the meal. For dinner I ordered a salmon and avocado roll and the Crazy Spicy Tuna Roll. Both were delicious and I ate every bite. The salmon and tuna were both bright and fresh. I will definitely be back! read more

Let's just start off to say that their sashimi is one of the BEST I've ever had! It's thick, fresh, soft, and very reasonably priced ($12 for 8 standard sashimi). I rarely go to Sandy Springs area, so I wish they can open another location near Doraville/Duluth. Service & Ambiance: 3.5 Came with the boyfriend on a Wednesday night, and the restaurant was about 1/2 empty. There were 3 servers total and I felt like my server wasn't as prompt as the other two. We had to get his attention a couple of times and ask for water and the check. The decor of the restaurant is very casual and open, nothing too fancy. Food: 4.5 We shared 4 rolls and a bento box. The size of the rolls are relatively small compared to some of the other sushi places, but the flavor and freshness is definitely there! The Spicy Salmon Roll is a MUST TRY!!! I loved it!! I also thinks the dinner Bento box is a good deal - you can choose 3 or 4 items off the list for either $18 or $24. I would suggest going with the grilled mackerel or salmon, a roll of your choice under $8, and the sashimi (with a $2 up charge). The box came with rice and a salad or soup, so for around $20 you can get a decent meal. Let's not forget how amazing their sashimi is!! I used to be a BIG fan of this place up until today. I went here for lunch today because I was in the area and have been craving their tuna carpaccio. I came there around 12:30 and they were super busy. It didn't take too long for us to get seated though. Once seated, my fiance and I ordered the tuna carpaccio and calamari for our appetizers. For our entrees we had 2 spicy scallop rolls, and a shrimp tempura/spicy tuna rolls combo. The combo came with either a soup or salad which I thought was weird. I'm used to combos coming with both a soup AND a salad. Shortly after we ordered, the miso soup came out. It was good but tasted like your standard miso soup. Next came the tuna carpaccio and calamari. Do NOT order the calamari unless you like to eat a bowl full of tentacles (see attached picture). EW. I'm used to my calamari being ring shaped with a few tentacles thrown in sometimes, not all tentacles. It didn't taste bad but I just couldn't eat it. The tuna carpaccio was still tasty but it looked like the slices of tuna were smaller than they used to be. BOO. Last came the rolls. They were super tiny and not rolled very well. I could've done a better job with the presentation (see pic). To top it off, the spicy scallop rolls weren't even spicy. My fiance flagged down our unattentive waitress and I asked her to bring me some sriracha hot sauce. She looked slightly annoyed with my request. When she brought the sauce over to me, she asked "is there anything else you would like lady?" then proceeded to slam the sauce down on the table. Um. How about an attitude change? Fantastic! My favorite in Sandy Springs area. Can't wait to go back! Went for dinner on Friday - by the time we left at 7:30-8pm there was a line out the door, busy place! Got four sushi rolls & nigiri, and all were amazing! AND the rolls were under $12... most were $7-10 for the specialty ones!!!! Great quality fish, rice wasn't cold, and wasabi was under the fish on the nigiri... perfection. Green tea was perfect as well. great authentic place. Tip: Get there early on a weekend. The decor is very much like your typical family owned Japanese restaurant with a slightly modern twist to it. So I felt really comfortable wearing casual clothing and eating lunch with my grandparents. We sat at the sushi bar so my grandpa could just talk to the sushi chef directly to place orders. Having grown up in Taiwan during the Japanese rule, my grandparents were basically Japanese. All the pieces of sashimi and sushi were extremely fresh and you could clearly taste the flavor of each of the fish. The slices were rather large too. They also have combos, so I ordered a sashimi and sushi roll combo, which came with a ginger salad, five pieces of sashimi and a very small spider roll. Definitely not filling enough. We arrived quarter to 3, and were able to partake in their happy hour which ends at 3. That was a win. I had the bento box with teriyaki chicken, a sushi roll, and tempura and rice for only $12. Chopsticks down, my favorite sushi place in all the kingdom. I have been here countless times and have never failed to have a less than enjoyable meal here. The menu is creative and old classics when it comes to rolls and sashimi are mixed in with funky designs and tastes like the Circle Box Roll, a square-shaped roll with an assortment of fish inside, delicately arranged. Traditionalists may oppose some of the more radical of creations here, but it's Circle Sushi's independent modernity that makes it so different than the hundreds of other sushi spots in town. My favorites in the rolls category have been Cho-Cho Roll (tamago), Salmon Symphony (a blend of salmon preparations), and simple but luscious yellow tail roll. If you ever want to contribute some variety to your culinary tastes (or if you bring along anyone who is still early in their develpmental stages of sushi fanaticism) there's also an expansive menu of non-sushi items: an udon that is absolutely authentic in taste, texture, and composition, or my favorite, the katsu don/ donburi rice bowl---which is white rice topped with egg, savory cooked onions, and a lightly fried pork cutlet. It stays tasty down to the green tea, which is soothing and nutty. Prices are very reasonable and can accomodate any budget or degree of stomach craving. The interior of the restaurant is minimalist-chic with owner Yuki's own designer flair---even when the place is full it never feels claustrophobic. Service is attentive and the whole staff, where behind the sushi bar or peering over at you from the scribble pad while taking your order, is a terrific group of folks. The only downside is its location relative to Atlanta---it's a bit of a hike up Roswell Road (or GA-400 Exit 6 Northridge Road plus a couple of miles). And you kind of have to be searching for it to find its otherwise nondescript location among other restaurants in a Publix strip mall--nowadays look for the yellow "sushi" sign on the facade . We came in on a Sunday and our party of six was seated immediately. What stands out immediately upon looking through the menu is how often they stress the source and quality of the items. I put it to the test by ordering the bento box: Salmon teriyaki, shrimp tempura and the spicy crispy eel roll. The salmon teriyaki was cooked well, not overseared and flavorful. The teriyaki sauce was a little too thick, and the flavor had a little bit of that grainy taste teriyaki can wind up having. The shrimp tempura was thinly cut and the batter was light and crispy. The tempura dipping sauce was weak and disappointing. The eel roll was a mixed bag. The eel was fabulous and a delight in the tongue but trying to pick up each piece led to it disintegrating in my chopsticks repeatedly. Overall a pleasant experience. Service was good even though the food was slow to come out. I'd consider dropping in if I'm in the area again and am craving some sushi. read more

As we were seated a waitress was right there to take our drink and food orders. I got the bota box. It can with 5 items. Ginger salad, white rice, teriyaki salmon , 3 fried shrimp , and 8 California rolls. These five items were my choices , each category had many to choose from. All of this food for under 13 bucks.
