Rather than just up sell me on a brand new panel, he quoted me a repair to rewire/replace the wiring, and to put in the correct breakers, saving me a lot of money. He came on a weekend and during the job, he noticed that I needed another panel. He graciously honored the original quote and didn't charge me for the extra panel. Francisco helped me wire electricity into my crawlspace so that I can install sump pumps. He and his team were on time, worked around my schedule, and went the extra mile to make sure I was all set. Francisco aka Paco was found on yelp and when I called him he promised to make sure he did a good job and make me happy I was requesting a main meter panel replacement, he took care of pge and city permits and scheduled with them. He made some small glitches but came back and had them sorted with a construction contractor to make sure all was good. He is polite and always replied to my texts. Cisco Electric has been working on my place for a month now and I just wish the job would end. The work seems fine. I don't mind sweeping up metal shavings and dust. However, they don't show up when they say they will and I have spent a bunch of time waiting for these guys over the course of the job, missing work, etc. Francisco became angry/defensive when I expressed frustration about this issue. Said they would come back on Wednesday to complete the job but would not commit to a time. His adult kid was hanging out of their car in my driveway in support of Francisco's position. Oy. If the past is any guide, the only notice I'll get is a text message: "be there in 15 min." So that's what working with this outfit is like. Maybe this is the way it is with contractors in the Bay Area now that work is plentiful. I, for one, did not appreciate the lack of consideration for my time or the attitude. read more

francisco and his sons take great pride in their work and it shows. in the care they take to explain things to you and to emphasize their guarantees i was recommended to them by the company doing waterproofing in our crawlspace. They needed to cut a power outlet in our bedroom to control power in the crawlspace. They explained each step they were doing, and showed me how to reset the power if needed. Also, they were diligent about keeping the area clean and did a good job of patching up the drywall they needed to cut through. We asked them to come back to install a light, and again they were diligent to explain the dimming switches that would be needed for an LED light. They were patient enough to wait for me to get the new switch since I hadn't known beforehand that it would be needed. Very satisfied with their work and would hire again. read more

I hate giving less-than-glowing reviews, but it would suck if you have to endure what I've endured... I hired Cisco in February 2020 to replace a possibly dangerous Federal Pacific panel, close out a subpanel, and ground all outlets. Over a year and dozens of follow-ups later (and multiple hours of my time), the job still isn't done. As far as I can, tell he walked off the job after making so many mistakes that he decided it wasn't worth it for him financially to finish it (I don't think he consulted the local city code "Green book" until after his expensive mistakes). I finally gave up last night and am looking for a new electrician. Recommendations anyone? I only put up with this for so long because I have had so much on my plate this year (e.g., working full time and other house/2020 concerns). I called the Oakland city inspector yesterday (who showed up today). I found out that Cisco had lied to me about a few things (e.g., blamed the city for asking him to move the panel, which he misplaced due to his lack of homework per local codes). I now need to hire someone else to finish up the job. Even if he somehow wanted to finish this job, how can I trust Cisco's warranty after all this b.s.? The work he did seems ok (though misplaced). Then again, how would I know as I'm not a licensed electrician - isn't that why we hire people? However, he stopped returning my calls/texts a couple months ago to finish the job (I've already paid him housands of dollars, by the way). Maybe he's capable of good work, but is not personally in a good place right now. Still, I recommend that you think twice before hiring him at this time and/or mentally prepare for a wait of many months/a year (his work's not inexpensive either). read more

This is a great company that with responsibility! They are not only very helpful with fixing my electric panel and they do help their customer's budget and time! Best experience ever! Frankie came out on one of the awful SNOW DAYS to make sure I got my knob-and-tube work done before the attic insulators. He had to park two blocks away, going back and forth, uphill and downhill in the slush, to get all his tools and materials. Deserves more than 5 stars. He is very honest and genuine. I had problem with my circuit breakers so I called them to come and see. Initially he tried to help me over the phone so I can save all my money. When we figured the problem was more complex, Cisco electric showed up at my place outside their work hours within 20 minutes after the call. He quickly troubleshooted the issue and fixed it. My husband and I did not have a good experience with Francisco. He asked for the full payment upfront in cash and started the re-wiring of our new house. We had a good start, he gave us good advice, and even added more lights in the house trusting he would complete the work well and on time. That was a big mistake, unfortunately. Not only did we have to pursue him for 4-5 weeks to come in and complete the work, our renovation guys couldn't start their work as the electric wires were hanging all around the house, and he ended up arguing with us for calling him every week to complete his work. The worst part was the attitude that he was doing us a favor and that he was sacrificing all his holidays to work at our place!! It was very unprofessional. The work finally got done when we called the contractor who recommended him. Thankfully some leverage worked here. I contacted Cisco Electric about some trouble I was having with popping breakers and losing power mostly in my kitchen. I had received an estimate from another Electrician that told me that my panel needed to be replaced. When that Electrician never returned, I found Francisco, the owner of Cisco Electric. He was very responsive and came out that very day to look at my electrical issues and give me an estimate. He told me immediately that I didn't need a panel upgrade but that my problem was that I had too many items on one circuit and that was causing the overload. He gave me a very fair estimate of the work to be done which included running 4 dedicated outlets. I was told that it would take a day to do the work. As it turned out, the project was bigger than Francisco had estimated and it took 2 days to complete the job. When the job was complete, my original estimate was honored because that is the price Francisco quoted to me. I ended up giving him an additional amount because I could see how much extra time and effort went in to completing my job. Francisco did an incredible job. He and his son made sure that they cleaned as they went and left everything neat before leaving. I cannot say enough positive things about this guy. He has an incredible work ethic with great attention to detail. He is honest, has integrity, is very professional in his approach to the customer and provides customer service that is beyond reproach. Since completion of this job, I have asked him to come back to give me a bid of some additional work that needs to be done. I cannot recommend him strongly enough. A cable technician stated that an outlet in my home was not grounded. Additionally, the lights in my home would flicker and dim whenever an appliance (even very small ones) were turned on, or if anything was plugged in. I chose Francisco with Cisco Electric because he offered me a free estimate. He provided great communication prior to my appointment. He was always available for questions and made me feel like a priority customer, even though it was only a free estimate and even though he had other paid appointments. It was effortless to set up a time for him to evaluate my electrical problem. He arrived at the scheduled time early, and was extremely professional. Instead of simply doing a free estimate, he spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem. It turns out that the outlet which I was told by a cable installer was not grounded actually was grounded according to the tests Francisco performed. He then spent a long time testing for problems with the light dimming issue. He evaluated a number of circuit breakers, and ultimately determined that the electrical issue is most likely due to a PG & E malfunction behind the circuit breaker. After about 45 minutes of work and testing, he determined that we need to reach out to PG & E so that they can resolve the issue. He told me the specific information that I needed to provide to PG & E. After all of that work, he charged me NOTHING. This company is truly honest. They bent over backwards to help me FOR FREE. There were many chances for him to possibly rip me off because I do not know anything about electrical work, yet he was professional to the utmost degree possible. If I ever need electrical work done, I will hands-down choose him to do it. I have never been so impressed with a contractor. I cannot understate my recommendation for Cisco enough. Electricians all around the area were booked out for at least 2 weeks, but Francisco made time to swing by within the week to give me a evaluation and quote about installing a Tesla Wall charger. He took a quick look at the panels on our house and made a good suggestion for where would be best to wire it up and came around the very next morning to finish the quick job at a pretty fair price from what I could tell after shopping around for a bit. We needed to install a 240v outlet in our new home for an electric stove, and also needed an estimate on getting some of our outlets grounded. Francisco knows his job. He has good aesthetic sense too while suggesting where to place the recessed lights etc. But the good news ends there. I found him to be arrogant and condescending. He agreed to install recessed lights in our living room that has high ceilings. He wanted a huge advance before starting the job (which I gave). He completed only 60% of the job and withdrew stating that the ceiling was too high for the remaining lights!!! Had he not realized this while accepting the job? I had Francisco and Junior come by, to see about installing a electric changeover, from a old 1970's 220 volt electric stove setup, to convert to a 110 volt, new gas stove installation, for my wife and I. They were very patient, and professional in their approach to our specific need. We agreed, to their reasonable price, and their plan for implementation. Then they got down to work, I was very impressed by their level of experience demonstrated in the installation process.
