Definitely make a brunch reservation. We got lucky and got seated quickly at a table by the door, but as a crowd came after us they got quoted longer and longer wait times. The parking lot is small and awkward, but we got lucky and someone left as we pulled in. The service was amazing. The food took awhile, but it is understandable with how busy they got. He kept updating us and checking in on us. We had coffees and people watched so we weren't upset. The restaurant is really cute with lots of plants and a nice vibe. We tried the vegemite flight and found out I don't like vegemite, but the cheddar biscuits it's on is fantastic. It was an interesting dish overall. I'm glad we got it. We got a pancake flight and a chorizo egg dish--both were great. Pancakes were amazing. I'd come back and want to try the fish and chips.

This is by far one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. There was a super long wait. While we waited inside, it was uncomfortably hot. We were seating outside where the patio was riddled with flies. I had to cover my food with napkins to protect my food from being contaminated by bugs. I ordered the banana and butter scotch pancakes, poached eggs, and chicken sausage. I didn't realize it was possible to ruin pancakes but this restaurant figured out a way. I've had pancakes from box mix that is better. The pancakes lacked flavor and sweetness. The "syrup" didn't even taste sweet so it didn't make the flavorless pancakes taste any better. The chicken sausage was okay. Nothing special. To make matters worse, the food messed up my stomach resulting in a crime scene in the bathroom. This place needs to address their fly infestation and I hope their food handling is okay.

Enjoyed brunch at this Australian cafe on a Saturday morning. I recommend making an advance reservation online as this space can get pretty crowded with long wait times. We ordered the banana bread French toast, a side of hash brown with aioli dipping sauce, and the cast iron baked eggs. The cast iron baked eggs were a letdown, but the other items were fantastic. I especially loved the banana bread French toast! Absolutely decadent. We also enjoyed lattes and mimosas to go with our meal. Service was great. Ambiance was okay - a little loud for my liking. Acoustics are not great inside. Worth a visit!

Ollie, our server is so good! Staff here are attentive and super nice. Menu is vast and lots to choose from. We had the pleasure of meeting Vic here and he was so down-to-earth and helpful. MUST GET THE TIRAMISU, it's his recipe and the way he described it- there's pride in his words- so we had to get it. Hands down, one of the best we've had- no joke! Yummy drinks too, btw!

Took my daughter and niece here for brunch- we enjoyed the different items we ordered, including lattes and a mix of lunch and breakfast items. The restaurant is decorated really nicely and we had good service. My only complaints are that the parking can be tough and tables are a little crowded, sometimes too noisy. Nothing to stop me from going back.

I have been here twice and I love the vibes! It's super cute inside. They also have a patio too if you prefer to sit outside. The staff has been very accommodating both times I went. I would give the bbq pulled pork Benny a 5/5. Loved the sweet and savory combination. It was perfect with the runny poached egg and cheddar biscuit. The pancakes I got were fluffy and thick, but few bites were dry. I also wish they had more bananas. Turkey bacon tasted too rubbery. My favorite drink here was the salted caramel latte. It was rich and creamy. The blue matcha lavender was just okay. Overall, I definitely recommend this brunch spot. Food was delicious with great service.

We literally had the best time ever celebrating our Bestie's birthday here. Alia I was our server and she made sure we were more than taken care of. They're $.99 martinis made for the best birthday ever. The food drinks, the ambience service. Everything was absolutely amazing. Even give us free dessert for Brandon's birthday. Can't wait to come back here again.

Wow, what a great place to celebrate a birthday! Brunch was delicious and we ordered a variety of sweet and savory items, including the recommended pulled pork benny, breakfast burrito, breakfast biscuit, avocado toast, pancakes and French toast. The coffee was amazing, as were the fresh juices and 'fluffy' cocktails. Our server Henry was fantastic and so welcoming. He offered suggestions & checked on us regularly. The rest of the team were also on top of it, making sure we had everything we need. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, and the only item for possible improvement is the temp in the restaurant. It was really hot inside but it's hard for the a/c to keep up during an Austin summer. We will def be back and love having this spot in the neighborhood! We also loved the bday mimosa flight

We came here for a group brunch, and the vibes were wonderful! We had a big table out in the patio and our waitress Geri was beyond exceptional! Right from the beginning, she was extremely friendly and made us feel so welcomed -- she ended up surprising our whole group with 3 bottles of complimentary mimosa! Just know if you ever get her, it's about to be a damn, good time. Talk about service! :) I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with turkey bacon (requested that they put it in the burrito vs. on the side) with a side of the pickled jalapeños. Portion sizes are on the smaller side as a heads-up, but I enjoyed the hash brown crunch with every bite. The chipotle mayo sauce was a delicious pairing, so I recommend getting that on the side!

This was literally the BEST brunch food I had in Austin, TX during my visit. The staff were so friendly and patient with us. The restaurant was so cute! You can dine in or order out from a full service deli on the right side of the restaurant. Everything we tried was amazing. I will definitely go again and again. I wish they had a location where I live.

I have heard wonderful things from friends about this place and so glad I finally came to give it a try. The Smoked salmon Benny was so good and I was glad I ordered it. The smoked salmon was good paired with their hollandaise sauce and the serving was perfect. I felt like the breakfast was not greasy (like you can get at other places) and this plate was well balanced. I could not decide between the greens or the hashbrown so I decided to get the greens with a side of hashbrowns. The greens were quite literally thrown greens on a plate. Not dressed up, just added for the presentation. Hashbrowns: These were nothing special. I would say if you don't want greens you can switch them out, but they are not worth a whole side order. I just wouldn't say they were anything special compared to what you can probably buy at the store or make at home. I forgot the name of the sandwich, but it was also subpar. Again nothing I would not and could not make at home. Blue matcha and Lavendar: I got the iced and hot blue matcha and Lavendar because why not! If I came back for anything, I would absolutely come back for these drinks. I can't say if it's better hot or cold, but I highly suggest if looking for a drink on this menu. I also must say their plating was a job well done and made these picture perfect food photos. As for staff, I think staff was friendly and helpful as a first timer. Ambiance was also really cute when considering a brunch spot. I would bring my family here or a time with friends. That said, I think this is where the restaurant really executed. The ambiance was sweet so you are going for the experience. All that said, if I came back it would likely be for drinks. I thought it was okay and the food can be improved. There was not anything spectacular that jumped out at me in terms of flavor, considering the hype I heard about this place. It could have been that I had higher expectations, or maybe just what I ordered. Overall if you're looking for a hang out, I think this spot does the job.

I have been to Citizen and every time has been a home run. The staff is passionate and knowledgeable, the space is small and quirky in the best way, and the food is delicious. The menu is somewhat limited but they still have something for everyone and it's all very very good. Definitely recommend a reservation or you can order grab-and-go at the counter. It's definitely worth adding to your rotation for brunch and dinner.

Open later than most coffee shops, especially in this deserted part of town. Varied drink menu, both caffeinated and not caffeinated, including refreshers. Nice creative variety of desserts (including a Biscoff cake!) and a kolaches case. At one point the brought some hot baked dessert (looked like a whole coffee cake) out the oven and it smelled like heaven. The bad: Nothing vegan or healthy, not even pre-made cold sandwiches or packaged salads. If you are a little peckish for a healthy snack, this is not the place. The coffees: They have all the regular espresso drinks, and also Turkish coffee and of course Yemeni, their specialty. I had heard great things about Yemeni coffee and was exciting to try it. My first drink, a traditional coffee drink called Jubani ($6) contained coffee but was watery like a tea. It had also ginger and cinnamon. I was not expecting it to be like a tea. I immediately told the cashier I didn't like the drink and would like just an Americano, double shot espresso. I was charged $9 for a 12 oz cup. No cream or sugar, no added flavorings. If I were in charge I wouldn't have charged for this second drink, since it comes at almost zero cost to them and would show good faith and ensure repeat business. Disappointingly, the Americano was also watery and sort of "lemony", but I still drank half while sitting with my friend. I'll say that my friend had some sort of an iced latte that she enjoyed. I might try a second visit and order a Turkish coffee, but I will make sure to have had a full meal before.
