    Crispy chicken sandwich
    Efren R.

The family and I decided to eat here for convenience. We were staying at the hotel for the night and we wanted to catch dinner before the island music concert that was playing here started. The restaurant was pretty empty with only one host/waiter. I think his name was Eppie, older gentleman with a strong accent. After we got in, it seemed that the restaurant was beginning to get busier. But the waiter was doing his job great. He gave us a minute to look over the menu while he got us drinks. The menu was short but we were overall satisfied with our meals. There were four sandwiches to choose from among other dishes, but my family decided to order each sandwich. So we got the classic cheeseburger, portobello mushroom sandwich, crispy chicken sandwich, and the cubano sandwich. My little one got the kids grilled cheese on sourdough. All plates came with fries which we all loved. They were freshly cooked and crisp. We all got full off half of our sandwiches and took the rest to our room which was awesome to snack on post-concert at 130am. I also ordered two rounds of Macallen, one for the meal and one post meal to go. Eppie's pour was a happy pour for me. Price to me for everything seemed like an average restaurant, maybe less than a normal hotel restaurant would cost. So I was content with my bill. Another shout out to our waiter who was by himself on the floor...great job taking care of us despite how many people started rolling in. Our food was hot, timely, and water glasses were full.

Stopped in here for dinner on a Sunday night. It was pretty slow. Service was decent. It was not fast or slow. Ordered a burger and it was pretty good. It was a good old fashion basic burger with fries. I would probably eat here again since it is close to home and I wasn't in the mood to cook.

Had the restaurant to ourselves! Great food! Great service! I had the salmon with mango salsa on bed of mashed potatoes and steamed spinach. Absolutely delicious. My wife had a wedge salad. It was hugeand looked so delicious.

Located in the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in San Diego, the only reason to dine here is the convenience if you're staying at the hotel. As with many restaurants in lower tier hotels, there's nothing special about this place. Although it does have good happy hour specials like specialty margaritas. On the night I went it was a roasted pineapple margarita. Ordering only from the HH menu, I also had battered and fried fish (cod) tacos ($3) that weren't bad; mozzarella sticks ($3) that were heavy on breading and light on cheese; and BBQ chicken wings ($3) -- crispy and meaty but the BBQ sauce came on the side as a dipping sauce.

Definitely on the pricier end for certain dishes but many of them are well worth it! - sourdough bread: good but also why are we spending $16 here. can't say it's worth - ahi tartare: no notes, everything hit, would come back for this alone - steamed clam and mussels: these were some meaty af mussels. delicious! the clams were tiny & pathetic tho and can't say I loved having the chorizo in there - charred broccolini: honestly don't remember this well but i had no complaints - grilled oysters: another fav of mine!!! a must get - hearth roasted carrots: the yogurt & pesto were on the side (due to dairy restrictions) but the pesto was SO. GOOD. paired beautifully with the carrots!!!!! I'm dying to know how to make this at home myself - branzino: good but would skip. I do typically like fish entrees but this wasn't overly impressive. could've used more sauce - NY strip: our favorite entree!!!! paired SO with the bone marrow - duck: super tender and fell right off the bone!!! our second fav entree - almond joy: incredible dessert, every bite I felt like I was getting a little something new. vanilla ice cream in the middle. LOVEEED this as our ending to dinner

Wasn't tooooo much looking forward to it, but it fit all the Birthday Dinner check marks and you can't down talk a place if you haven't been there. First. Listen. Everyone's using open table. But Fort Oak, tell Open Table to chill. I used open table to reserve about 4 days in advance, but still got a TON of emails, and a ton of notifications. Including one that, if I didn't respond to it, would cancel my reservation. Then 3 follow ups asking me to review Fort Oak. Haysuse on a pogo stick, that was almost a detractor from the actual dinner. Is this dinner or a past due bill sent to collection agency? I digress. First, our waiter Johny E, phenomenal. Dude knows wine in ways that are supernatural. Spot on recommendations. Second. Put on your Pulp Fiction "5 dollar shake" face about a 50 dollar pork chop. A FIFTY DOLLAR PORK CHOP. Waiter, who had already proven he know WTF was what, simply said "we're known for it, you will probably enjoy, people rave about it". So, I mean, when in Rome. Johny wasn't lying. It's a pretty @#$#ing good pork chop. Color me amazed. You can be skeptical. You might say I was just trying to justify having spent 50 on a pork chop. Try it. Stunning. I don't know if it's the best I ever had, but I can't remember a better one. Over all, they nail the experience, the food, and wrap it up in a bow. It is always busy, so a reservation is best (I'd call vice using that @#$# open table app, I swear). Shout out about Johny - in fact, ask for him to be your waiter, he a star.

It can get busy so if you have a large party, I'd recommend making a reservation! - PARKING - This lot can get pretty full depending on the time of day, but at least there are adjacent streets where you can also find additional parking. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - You seat yourself and they'll bring out a few physical menus, although they also have QR codes for the taplist if you don't want to go up to the bar. After ordering, our drinks came almost immediately, and we only had to wait 10 minutes for our food. - FOOD - Fish Sandwich ($6.00 during HH): They've got great happy hour deals, including this fish sandwich! We had plans to eat dinner later so we just wanted something to snack on. The fish was crispy and juicy, and the slaw was pretty good too! - OVERALL - I only remember the last time I had food here (probably 2 years ago) it wasn't too impressive, but after trying this new item, I'm definitely open to coming back for more of the menu!

We tried the Smash Burger with added Fries for additional $4. Buffalo Cauliflower, Three Chicken Wings, Fried Fish Sando and Banana Milk Pudding. Each was $6. Our wine and beer was apart of the $6 Happy Hour. Everything was so delicious, except the Three Chicken Wings. They were Salt n Pepper flavor wings and the Salt left its presence. If it wasn't for it being so salty, they would have been perfect because they were juicy and crispy. Common Theory is pretty huge. Lots of seating inside with different types of seating. They also have a patio for outdoor seating. There is also a Speakeasy which is on our list of places to try. Our waiter was very nice and kept checking in on us which was very good.

Wow. Just wow. My…read morebest friend had been raving about Wolf in the Woods for years, so she brought me here for my birthday. As two serious foodies, our expectations were high. This place exceeded every one of them. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, Wolf in the Woods feels like a hidden European café you'd stumble upon while traveling. Sitting outside beneath the umbrellas with a cocktail, watching the neighborhood stroll by. It felt like a little corner cafe in Paris. Then the food arrived. Every plate was beautifully presented, but the real magic was in the creativity of the flavors. The combinations were unexpected, yet every one worked. Every dish had me wondering how on earth someone came up with these pairings in the first place. The Sweet Corn & Piñon Soup deserves a standing ovation. We literally stopped talking after the first spoonful. Rich, savory, slightly sweet, comforting and completely unexpected all at the same time. Both of our eyes rolled back in our heads. The Beef Tataki completely surprised me. The outside had a delicate seared crust, the inside cut like butter, and the citrus pairing made me rethink what flavors belong together. And the mushroom and polenta dish? The mushrooms had an incredible texture--like savory little pieces of mushroom jerky. I would have happily bought a pound of them just to snack on. Every dish felt like it was taking me somewhere I'd never been before, yet somehow felt familiar at the same time. Wolf in the Woods creates an unforgettable experience.

Our server was Chris and he was OUTSTANDING...very attentive and very friendly. Both managers visited our table several time to make sure we were good. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that what I had was just a bit underwhelming. We ordered the braised beef potstickers, california roll, and grilled and chilled shrimp for appetizers. The meat in the potstickers was very mushy. The california roll was decent. The grilled and chilled shrimp were fine. My husband had the filet - ordered medium well, served medium...the twice baked potato was very small and seemed to be overcooked. I had the lemon chicken entree - the taste was good, but was just a bit dry...it was served with fries, which was fine. The other couple ordered the skirt steak and the braised short ribs which they seemed to enjoy. My drink was amazing - the Amalfi Spritz. For dessert, we tried the butter cake...again, a bit underwhelming and not really good on flavor...I did taste the toffee and caramel, but the cake itself had no taste. Overall, I would go back because of the service, the drinks, and the ambiance.
