I really liked Penn Station until I got stuck with the new girl. While preparing my sandwich she was talking to the employees in the back until she just dropped everything and was heading to the back room. I asked her to finish my sandwich and even though I had asked it to be cut in half (as has always been done in the past) did not cut it. Same thing last time I got stuck with her. For a sub shop that is not doing well in Michigan. We thought we'd give them another chance. Terrible mistake went to the Metro Park location first didn't stay didn't order. I said okay I'll drive to the Rochester location. I ordered and got my food. The whole wait all I heard was the cook talking to the manager about how he would never eat this food. That's very comforting as a customer to hear that. The subs were horrible and you can't tell they were made with hate. Don't do it if you love yourself. The staff are polite and helpful to recommend which Sub to choose; there are so many choices. The bread is always tasty and fresh I love the grilled sandwiches. Make sure you get their 'fresh cut' fries, they are the best ! Brown on the outside and creamy on the inside. The prices are fair compared to "other sub" stores. Gotta give props to a restaurant that provides malt vinegar for house-made fries! Pretty solid place, I love that I can mod a grilled sandwich to my own tastes. The fries were Five Guys level good. I think it's a bit over priced overall tho. They do a great deal on Monday for a small sub (featured in this pic) that was very filling and worth it. I'd come here much more if you guys did other deals throughout the week--maybe a half off or bogo for buying two subs or meals. read more

If you've never had it, your in for a treat. The sun bread is freshly baked and tasty...not bland, like subway. The ingredients are fresh and the baked subs are melted, crunchy goodness. Our favorites happen to be the Teriyaki Chicken and Chicken Cordon Bleu. If you are into French fries, Penn Station takes then a step further and offers their own fresh cut version in massive amounts. after paying $31.60 for two Ruben sandwiches I had to throw them both out when I got home they were loaded with thousand island dressing in Greece. It's soaked through the entire bag. So, I came here on Sunday after yoga because I was hungry. Yes, they fed us at the event, but Yoga really seems to kick up my metabolism and I needed something in my stomach. I secretly wanted Tubbys, but there wasn't one on the way home, so I stopped here since I had it on my list of stuff to try. Overall, I really liked my time here. It was a carry out, and the guy was really friendly and helpful. Granted, I looked horrible when I walked in and ordered (I was a hot sweaty mess) but the food was really really good. They also have a check in special for a free cup of fries, which were delicious! Parking here is kinda tight if it's busy, so be careful. I got a spot because it was 3PM on a Sunday afternoon and it was a weird time to eat. I would gladly return as the food was tasty, prices were great, place was easy to find and I had an overall good experience. Not a good experience. I went to Penn Station for just a small size order of French fries, Sunday right before Labor Day. Looking to add some fries to my leftover steak from K&M for dinner that night. I paid the $3.50 for small size. Waited patiently. Didn't look like it would be a quick order. Just take some fries from fryer and put into sturdy Penn Station cup. The young lady in charge at the end of the assembly line was so slow. The guy who took my money just walked into back section (he could've followed thru on my simple order as she was finishing a sandwich). Enough of waiting. I saw a small paper cup of fries sitting there. I asked the girl if that's my order. She was not even sure what I ordered but handed me the small cup. I complained and said is that the cup it comes in, yeah was her reply. I said aren't you going to put it in a to-go paper bag? It was then she did. I said that's a pretty small cup for $3.50. She just looked at me blankly. Several people were waiting so I didn't want to make more of a fuss. So I took them home. Lukewarm & a measly portion. I looked online, saw the official cup size for small fries. I knew then I had been gipped! I love your fries when I get them hot and a full portion in the sturdy Penn Coast Station logo. I was going to come in to complain later since I still have that small white styrofoam cup for reference. I may still do that. Why is it that every establishment that has Philadelphia in their name, or Pennsylvania in their name, or anything East Coast in their name and tries to sell a cheesesteak sorely misses the mark in Michigan. Penn station has to be one of the most mediocre attempts at a cheesesteak that I've ever had. They charge outrageous prices for a less than authentic experience. Nothing at all hit the mark on this one. From the over-toasted bread to the fatty meat. Nothing makes one think"wow, this is a good cheesesteak". That is unless you've never actually had a real cheesesteak. Barely a scrap of meat on an 8" steak sandwich that costs over $7. You can get a better Cheesesteak at the local Wawa gas station and convenience stores in PA. I suggest going there over this place. I've never had a problem with the actual customer service at this Penn Station. The kids that work there are SUPER annoying and do yell things at each other and are working REALLY hard to be cool while they wait around for another customer to show up but I could care less. As long as I get my artichoke sub and a small fry they can continue to talk about all the parties they went to and sneak cookies to their friends. Penn Station is much better than a Subway or a Quizno's (are they still even in business?) the bread on their subs is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and they make your sandwich as you order it so it's nice and hot. You can make your own sub but there are also the options they have for you already (like I said, the artichoke sub is the way to go, minus the mushrooms), the fries come in big cups and are always hot and despite the level of competence of the staff the bathrooms and dining area are always clean. read more
