Breakfast was perfect. Ambience beautiful with the camel color tufted leather furniture and wonderful potted greenery. MaNae was polite and attentive. Breakfast was such a relaxing experience with the perfect curated music selection. The only reason for one less star is because of the price. But to be fair the price most likely reflects the rent they must be paying here. Definitely a happy treat to dine here.

Vibes and food were 10/10 at City Hall Bistro. We went for brunch around 9:30 on a Sunday. The restaurant was pretty sparse when we got there, but was full around 11:00 when we left. The overall feel is modern and fresh and there's lots of seating options from bar tops to tables and booths. The coffee was good and the Bloody Mary was decent. I loved the omelette with brisket. I also got to try the pecan french toast and it was phenomenal. Everyone at the table was pleased with their food and everything looked excellent! The only hiccup was the service. When we got there the restaurant was mostly empty. Unfortunately we waited a while to put in drink orders. Then our waiter changed and we waited another long while to order food and were scarcely checked on. A tablemate put in a drink order that never came, and I never got a coffee refill. By the time we left they were swamped and the waiter was apologetic about the forgotten drink. I will always give staff the benefit of the doubt but it was noteworthy during our trip, unfortunately. I would definitely come back, but might aim for a less busy time.

This bistro is located in the Adolphus Hotel Once you walk in the space is bright and welcoming service. Staff were very friendly. I ordered the American breakfast, which was very tasty and the food came out quick. I didn't have my toddler with me, but I can tell this space was also very family friendly.

Breakfast was decent and satisfied our appetite for a continental breakfast, a cold brew, and iced latte. Food came out quick and service was impeccable. The server was super nice and was fairly attentive to our needs. The size of the entree was very filling. Only con I have was our inability to get ahold of the restaurant..I had called several times prior to try to place a pickup order, and also still could not get thru from the main hotel desk transferring my phone call over. Having to go there to eat slightly changed our plans with this situation. Otherwise, this is a solid breakfast spot that would meet the needs of a quick in and out meal.

I got the American Breakfast and it was delicious! The coffee was really good too!!!

Food was delicious and eggs were seasoned really well. Fruit was very fresh. We were served by Rito, he was awesome and the service all around was very welcoming. Vibes inside the restaurant were lovely and calming

Don is the beautifully kind maître D that you meet when you first arrive. He started off our experience with warmth and flying colors! Thanx Don! Anywho... City Hall Bistro is located inside the sumptuous Hotel Adolphus, which I did not know until I tried to enter through the service entrance on the backside of Main Street lol. However, walking through the hotel was such a glorious and picturesque experience. I was extremely excited to try my food. CHB did not disappoint. I choweddd dowwwnnnn (see pics) Finally I'd like to shout out Rito, our server--he was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. Great service!

honestly, what made the experience so good was the service. From being greeted at the entry by a kind gentleman each day, to the service that we got from Maria. The food was good and the ambience is gorgeous, very very well done! But for me, what separates a good place from a great place is service and Maria did that!

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

The service felt distant and rushed. Our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu, gave us conflicting information about drink availability, and rarely checked on us. We specifically asked not to be rushed, yet our entrées arrived while we were only a quarter of the way through our appetizer. At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The cocktails were the highlight, but overall, the service, food, pacing, and cleanliness did not meet expectations. One star. Very disappointing, and I'm not sure I'll be back.

The staff was very welcoming, and the other guests I encountered were friendly and sociable. The drinks were excellent. On my first visit, I had the Hugo Spritz, which was mixed to perfection. During my second visit, I tried the Bitter Lemon Soda, which was also very good--simple, refreshing, and without any overpowering flavors. I actually enjoyed The Bowen House so much that I went twice during my weekend trip to Dallas. It has an almost speakeasy-like atmosphere, with low lighting and a cozy, historic feel. It's also in a very walkable area, which made it easy to visit on foot. There is some parking available, although I would say it's somewhat limited. I don't think it would be the best spot for a very large group, but it would be perfect for a few friends getting together. I also appreciated that you can order a drink while waiting for a table or bar seating, which made the wait feel much more enjoyable. Overall, The Bowen House was one of my favorite places I visited while in Dallas. Between the atmosphere, welcoming service, and well-crafted drinks, it's definitely a place I would return to the next time I'm in town.

Food, however, wasn't great, we came multiple times last year and it was fantastic all around, last night?... New risotto appetizer was flavorless 4/10, sauce was outstanding 9/10. Chicken meatballs were 6/10, salty, but sauce again was 8.5/10. Bread with the meatballs was 9/10. Nightly special was 9/10, chicken thigh wrapped chicken leg, amazing sauce and carrots. Special sauce with the nightly special stole the night at 9.5/10 - I'd order a bowl of that and call it a night! Magic Chicken Thighs were 6/10, overly salted and dry - side arugula salad was a salt bomb 2/10. Sweet potatoe purée was 7.5/10. Burger and fries were 7/10, solid and above average. Salmon was 7/10, slightly overcooked. Mac & Cheese was 3/10, below average, dry, almost flavorless - paid $4 for bacon topping and it was dry also. Noodles were dried out and the cheese sauce was at the bottom of the cup, tasted like they scooped in pre-made noodles, added sauce, threw it in the oven and off it went - didn't appear mixed together at the least. Carrots, solid 8/10. Overall, I'd be tempted to give it another try, the ambiance and overall feel is awesome - then hope the food is great again and make it a perfect Friday night spot, but for $275 for the 4 entree's, 2 appetizer's and 2 drinks we got last night? I'd argue it wasn't worth it.
