Had pretty high hopes for City Slice in regards to the pizza. What I didn't expect was for the wings to be sooo good! For the nice folks at CS, you probably shouldn't place the extra purchased ranch smushed on top of the pizza and for the price of add-ons, there must have been a shortage today. Paying the additional for add-ons was not worth it.. or the pizza itself. It's very hard to do pizza wrong, so the pizza was... good. I really wanted to like this place. I tried with literally every fiber of my being to like this place. But I cannot. The service was good. Or server was really attentative and kind. But our file gumbo pizza was disgusting. The crust was undercooked soggy, and it lacked any flavor whatsoever. I fixed the crust problem by bringing the leftovers home and putting it in the oven, but it was still tasteless. The coke was also flat. It's a shame because I heard good things about this place. Good quality, slow service. Called in an order for one pizza and wings on a weekday. Told the food would be ready "when you get here". Arrived 20 minutes after ordering to find the dining area empty except for 1 table that already had their food. Paid for my order and was told it would be ready in "just a minute". 30 minutes later, my order is finally ready. I was told my order was fresh out of the oven,but I opened the box not 2 minutes after getting my order. My pizza was luke warm at best and the crust already chewy. I understand a restraunt can be understaffed, but being transparent about wait times goes a long way. Had the restraunt been busy or had anyone walked in during this time to pick up an order, I would gave understood the total 50 minute wait. However, thos was not the case. Okay I love this place! I'm a pepperoni pizza type of girl so I only order the pepperoni pizza and I love it! The hunny & I go a couple times per month. A medium pizza and wings is plenty for us with a couple slices to take home. I did mess up one time and order a small pizza and it is quite different from the larger pizzas. The drinks are strong and reasonably priced. Happy hour has great prices! There a ton of TVs so it's great especially when your football team and basketball team are playing at the same time. Now if you want reality - be prepared for AMAZING FOOD. We had a good bit of food & it all was phenomenal - House salad (not your average house salad - SO good), Debris fries, Sugo Pane (amped up cheese bread we order for our son, we couldn't help but eat some too), Tiger Bait pizza, White Chicken Pesto pizza, & a cinnamon roll pizza to top it all off. Had lunch here a few days ago for the first time. Ordered the buffalo wings and the veggie pizza. I don't think I've EVER had a slice of pizza as big as the slice they offer for $5.00. It was sooo good. Fresh ingredients and I requested extra crispy crust. We had the "Freaux Ze'" cocktail and it was good as well. Our server Michael was friendly, prompt and a warm smile. Now for the wings . . some of the best in BR. You can get the sauce on the side (as we did) but should have gotten them already prepared with sauce on. Either way they were very good. I always eat my wings with Bleu cheese but I didn't really care for it here. I think it was the consistency. I like thick dressing. This place was not planned on our list of places to chow but I saw it on yelp and the ratings were to the top for a new place we had to try it. So so glad we did, this is a really great pizza and crust that's made with a secret ingredient I cannot share, but trust me it's awesome. The meats on the pizzas are all made by their smoke house and make for a great flavor on the pizzas. I also had a very tasty brew that was a circulating flavor but can't remember the name. I love beer so it didn't really matter because it went great with our pizzas. Too bad the place is located in Baton Rouge and not Metry or I would be in there every weekend. Hopefully my kid decides to come college up here so I can come back more often read more

I hope this place sticks around. The location has been cursed since the Bayou burned down. I like the Slice. We got a pizza with lots of meats and felt that the hamburger was unnecessary and overshadowed the nuance of the other fine cuts, but it was still good. The wings were outstanding. I really wanted to like City Slice because City Pork is so delicious. I was disappointed, this pizza is not my favorite. I've never been in the restaurant so it may be different when you're there, but I have ordered pizza here twice and had it delivered. Both times the pizza was huge with barely any toppings. That may be how they make their pizzas but I just prefer to have a few toppings in each bite instead of having most of the pizza being just cheese. Overall the pizza was tasty. I ordered the flying pig this time. I also ordered some of the wings which were pretty good. The carrots were put in the same container as the wings and the heat made them soft and not crunchy so I ended up throwing them away. read more

Good food but not worth the food poisoning I got. Went here Monday with some coworkers for a lunch meeting and ordered two of the $5 slices of VEGGIE pizza. When the food came out it wasn't very hot so I should've known better than to eat it then smh. Everything tasted fine, but about an hour later when I returned to work I was extremely lethargic and my stomach felt uncomfortable. I didn't eat anything else that day then at 2am I woke up out of my sleep with the worst stomach pains I ever felt. I started sweating and feeling nauseous until finally I was projectile vomiting over the toilet. I honestly thought food poisoning only came from meat products. I went here with my boyfriend shortly after they opened and I was excited to try some good pizza by campus. We built our own pizza, and the size was just right and big enough to share between two people and have some left over, but I don't quite like how we're limited to only three toppings. At Lit Pizza, it's unlimited and at a much cheaper price. Flavor was okay though. However, our waitress forgot about us for a good 15 minutes after she gave us the check. We were one of three tables in the restaurant. I understood that the crew was really new, so we paid and left. I decided to give it another chance last week. We had a red headed waitress who was nice, but she completely forgot about us too. Tables who were seated before us got their food, finished, paid, and left before she even took our order. We waited half an hour! I even tried waving and calling and getting her attention, but she was too busy idly chatting with other customers. What the heck. Also, my boyfriend asked for sprite but got fizzy water instead. Check your syrups, people. The best part was when I almost ate a large MOSQUITO body fried to the end of my mozzarella stick, still equipped with most of its appendages. I told the waitress who then told the manager, but I received free crappy beignets in return. I regret not asking her to not to charge us for the sticks considering the awful service and mosquito cheese sticks. We still got the pizza. Mediocre, overpriced, and took WAY too long to be served. She gave us our beignets way after we paid, too. Also, the beignets are these gross fried blocks that'll wear out your jaw and are dunked in cinnamon served with a tart strawberry jam. Not good. Bottom line, don't go here. Bad service, long waits, mosquitos fried in your food, and overpriced. I'm going to Lit Pizza from now on. So impressed. Came here from Dallas for a&m and LSU game. The pizza was awesome. We got the neopolitan pizza I think. The pizza is thin crust under which is my favorite which fluffy crust. The service was awesome. Felt extremely welcomed in our A&M game day gear. ;-) also, there was live music which we thought was really cool! Not too loud, and sat right next to Brandon Routh, who was singing and did amazing. Nothing too crazy music, very nice and set the vibe. Super glad we chose this. I have no idea if the pizza is any good. A huge issue I have is when a restaurant has a set closing time and decide to close early when they are slow. I have not had one thing from here that wasn't delicious! The pizza is great and they don't short you on anything. Even when it comes to Waitr orders their customer service is incredible as well! Their Waitr tablet messed up one night and i never got my food even though it had been ready a long time. The manager or owner called me personally to apologize and he said he would have my food remade immediately and deliver it himself. That is above and beyond, so the incredible food is just a bonus. This place has great pizza. It's a thin crust style, and I've never really liked thin crust. That just goes as a testament to the fact that it was that good. I ordered roasted garlic on it, and it came out with whole cloves on the pizza, which is another plus for me. I've ordered garlic on my pizza before and ended up getting some obviously processed pre-minced mush on top. The interior is sleek and homey, but big enough to fit an entire academic department (or two) inside with extra room for more patrons. I highly recommend it. read more

This was my first order. Alright pizza place. I ordered the Fighting Tiger and some wings. Decent flavor overall, but the sauce and crust could use some work. The sauce is kinda weak and is undermined by the toppings and the crust is kinda flavorless. The toppings are very salty. Just eating one slice, has my head starting to hurt. The owner in some capacity also owns city pork and that means the meat is fresh and on point! The pizza by the slice for $5 is great. Huge slice and the dough is thin with a fluffy fresh crust.
