AAA set us up with them for a water leak detection appointment. They texted us that they had a 4pm appointment if "that worked for us". I responded that it worked for us, but the earlier the better. Their response was they might not be able to make it. Day and time of appointment, no call, no show, after taking the day off work waiting for them. Had an unprofessional back and forth text with "Ramy" basically saying it was our fault. Horrible company and service. Will make sure AAA knows everything they said in their texts. read more

I was going to leave two reviews, one for the Leak Detection service and one for Repairs, both of which I used. However, both received the full 5-stars so I'm consolidating. TLDR: James and his crew (Noor & Mike) did a fantastic job! Found a water leak in the living room near where the main water line enters the home (Thurs). Specifics: After researching online and at Yelp, I called a local plumbing service who offered to divert two techs later that day. While waiting, I did more research and found out that many plumbers do NOT offer leak detection service, ONLY repairs. So I tried "Leak Detection" as a separate category and found City Water Conservation (CWC)--who ONLY had 5- and 4-star reviews! I called and spoke with James who offered to come out right away as my house was close to the office. (The other leak detection service couldn't send anyone out till Saturday!) He isn't a Tech but said he would take a look and offer any advice (no charge!). He noticed I was losing a gallon of water a minute. He set up a Tech appointment for later that day. BONUS: Because CWC deals mostly with insurance companies, their repair and detection service prices are posted right on their website! No finagling or guessing. The plumbing service I'd called earlier came over and gave me three estimates--one to bypass the leak (least expensive), one to jackhammer the floor to locate the specific pipe leak and repair it, and one outrageous one if I wanted to reroute the whole system (which they did not recommend). Noor from CWC came over late, after 6pm, due to traffic from a job in the Bay Area but stayed till well after 7pm to do the job; found the area and marked it with tape on the carpet. Measured the moisture in the damp carpeting and (soaked) padding. Another tech, Mike, came over to help and both even moved a couch out of the way to better detect the leak area. James answered all questions (especially regarding insurance and what they might cover) and made sure a report (with pictures) would be sent the next day along with the estimate so I could decide. CWC's estimate to fix the leak was LESS than the plumbing service's lowest estimate just to bypass it! Guaranteed for life as well. I called Friday morning and they set up an appointment for first thing Monday AM. Mike came over *earlier* than scheduled and politely waited in his truck but I was awake and eager to begin so I let him in. (HIGHLY recommend Mike as he was one helluva hard worker, conscientious, patient, answered all questions and had a wonderful positive attitude.) **I should point out that I am a firm believer in the Golden Rule and treat workers the way I would like to be treated. I gave the guys snacks and water and tipped them. You of course don't have to, but that's how I roll.** With only a half-hour lunch break, Mike stayed until the job was DONE--10 hours! The leak was nestled in the concrete footing near the outer wall so it took a long time to drill down (Mike had to switch the hand-held jackhammer to avoid damaging the pipe with the larger, traditional one). He also had to remove some of the baseboard and cut a hole in the drywall to access the stubborn pipe. He braize-welded (sp) it and we had water again!! James came back the next morning to fill in the hole and add concrete back to level the floor. James also gave me his phone number to call with any further questions. He even recommended a mitigation company (to dry out everything) and a restoration expert (to fix the drywall) that they often use. After four-and-a-half days with no water, it's great to have it fixed! I hope I never need their services again but if I did, or if any of my friends or neighbors do I will fully recommend City Water Conservation. Thank you! read more

DO NOT rely on the leak detection reports generated by this company. In October, we used City Water Conservation only for a leak detection report so that we could figure out where the pipe went that was leaking underneath our house. The report was wrong and useless, and they will not admit that. The report indicated where the leak was - we already knew where the leak was as that is why we called in the first place - but it told us the pipe that was leaking led to the bathroom. In fact, the leaking pipe led to the kitchen and the reroute through the walls had to go to the kitchen, all the way on the other side of the house from the bathroom. What is the point of a $395 report that tells you the leaking pipe leads in the totally wrong direction? Naturally, I asked for a refund. The owner refused and profusely blamed me and the plumber I used. We simply relied on the report that we paid for. They refuse to admit their mistake in that they generated a report that said the wrong thing. They were extremely unprofessional on the phone to me. I called again today to give one more chance to refund the $395, giving fair warning that I would write this review. The employee (James) I spoke with was again very unprofessional and said to me, "Knock your socks off!" and "We don't take bribes!" They believe to refund someone's money for a report that was wrong would be accepting a bribe. They insist that we needed to get the pipes tested before performing the reroute that their report (and incredibly expensive estimate leaving holes in walls) recommended. They insist that therefore it was completely my fault for not accepting their overpriced estimate and having them do the repair work, and my plumber's fault for relying on their report. This does not refute the fact that their report was wrong. As you will see in their inevitable reply to this review, they will not focus on what their own report said but instead will place blame elsewhere. You cannot rely on the inaccurate leak detection reports and you cannot rely on them to properly and professionally address any concerns. read more

I really appreciate City Water Conservation for their help with the leak happening between my unit and the downstairs unit. Before City Water came out, my HOA hired another plumbing company that did their inspection horribly. When my insurance company arranged for City Water to come, they were quick and efficient with arranging a day and time. Ramy was really communicative and sent Noor for inspection. Noor arrived to my unit, accessed the situation and determined that it was a leak caused by the upstairs unit. On Thursday 4/17 I was contacted by my water company stating they showed a major leak at my property. To the tune of about 37 gallons an hour. City came out and inspected meter and confirmed a leak in front yard main line. My responsibility. Contacted City Water Conservation and had appt. the next afternoon. Ceaser showed up and evaluated the problem. Gave me a very reasonable quote to do the job. He soon informed me that the main line had a large split in the main pvc pipe. He dug up the area, located the split pipe and completed the repair. Job took about 6 hours of honest hard work. Site was cleaned up well. I was very impressed with the whole process from my first contact with the company until job completion. Hopefully I won't need them again, but if I or anybody I know does, I will certainly recommend City Water Conservation to do the job. James came out to diagnosis a leak and provide a quote for re-piping of our house. We had another plumber come in from our home warranty which had installed a temporary job but we wanted a second opinion on what are options were. We initially decided to cap the pipe but there was some issues due to the type of piping. After some research and driving around, James was able to find a more permanent solution to our leak. We still consulted them on the re-piping and they provided us a wealth of information that made the process easier. After talking with James, we ended up installing a Moen FLO smart valve to provide extra piece of mind. The installation was done in a couple of hours and we have peace of mind provided by the smart valve. I highly recommend City Water Conservation if you need a second opinion on any issues you are having and also if you want to install a Moen Flo Smart Valve. July 7 was one very happy day to celebrate. We had no house water for a week due to an apparent under the slab leak. Water bill last month was an astronomical $250 ! I called several plumbing & leak detection companies some of which were very happy to want a contract to locate, jack up concrete & fix the leak for almost $10k ! The Water Conservation company showed up with lead technician Mike & owner on their own dime & immediately attempted to diagnose the leak without even using ultrasound equipment. Within 20 mins Mike unequivocally stated it is not a slab leak ! After visually checking the toilets, hot water system his "bat" ears tracked water rattling sounds emanating from a corner irrigation pipe system even though there was not a drop of surface water ! We unearthed a couple of plastic floor boards to find a pool of water that had broken loose from a 90 degrees elbow that was badly stressed leading to a leak. All within 45 minutes on arrival. The final bill for almost 2.5 hours of work including a new shut off ball valve was $300. Kudos to Mike & Mr James Bolin for exceptional skill sets, a very hard working & above all HONEST plumber.
