We came to Civil on our way to Branson. The ambience is excellent, super hipster. Waitress was kind and was quick. Food was mediocre. The menu looks phenomenal but the actual presentation was a disappointment. We started with the truffle fries. The flavors together were great but there was no adhesive, ie a sticky cheese to keep the toppings on the fries. We also ordered the feta dip which seemed frozen. It was not a dip it was a blob like frozen butter. I also tried the date n'apple salad. The dressing just did not pair well with the toppings. In my opinion, the dressing completely ruined the salad. I couldn't even eat it. We will not return.

Traveling through Springfield, MO and found this gem. The service was amazing. They were so helpful in describing the menu and helping make selections. The food was really good. Everything seemed fresh and made from scratch. The Mac and cheese and fried kale were next level! The onion ring appetizer was the BEST onion ring I've ever eaten. The location is in the downtown square and has a really cool vibe. Highly recommend!

We ended up in Springfield on a girls day out. We always try some place new to eat on our adventures. Civil Kitchen did not disappoint. We tried the seafood beignets, delicious. I had the blue goat burger and home made fries. Yummy!! Couldn't finish it all. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and people watching. Great place to try. The service was a little slow, but our waitress was new so not a big deal. Prices were comparable for the quality and quantity in my opinion. Be adventurous and give them a try!

Solid place to eat, amazing customer service and atmosphere is nice and clean. I recommend the fish tacos, slaw on side and extra hot honey! If you like burgers, get a smash burger with avocado spread and bacon! Great food and good place to take a date.

Eating in a wing back chair, at some odd table, isn't well suited for dining. But, sure looks neat. The food is ok to good: Burger : The burger was really good. Has some jam sauce on it which really works. Beef has a good flavor. The bacon was very good. . Potato soup: The soup is good....but needed far greater seasoning to have it be great. Pork Wings: Again, needed more seasoning to elevate the pork. And the dipping sauces were a bit unusual. And the Asian style sauce - by gosh did it have a ton of saffron. Patagonia side item: These potato chunks weren't much. Potatoes were nothing special, under seasoned and the dipping sauce was unusual. And so much saffron, it was way overpowering. . Is it worth going to - absolutely and the place is neat. But I give an extra 1/2 to 1 star more, just because of the neatness of the place.

I really wanted to like The Table…read more The space itself is absolutely beautiful -- one of the best dining rooms in Springfield -- and it feels like the kind of place that should deliver a more elevated, full-service experience. That's part of what made the counter-service model feel a little out of sync with the atmosphere. We first tried visiting as a group of about 12 on a Saturday around 7 PM. I had called ahead and was told they don't take reservations, so we planned accordingly. When we arrived, we were told there wasn't any way to accommodate our group together -- not even the option to wait for space to open up -- so we ended up going elsewhere. I did come back later with a smaller group for lunch. The experience was better logistically, but still a bit disjointed. The menu felt somewhat scattered, and while we were able to find seating at a communal table, the overall flow felt a bit chaotic. After ordering at the counter, the wait for food was quite long -- around 45 minutes or more -- which gave us plenty of time to observe how things were running. Toward the end, I noticed tables being marked as unavailable/reserved, which made me wonder why a similar approach couldn't have worked for larger groups earlier. When the food arrived, it was good -- nothing wrong with it -- but not especially memorable, especially considering the wait and price point. There's a lot to like here, especially the space and overall concept, but the execution didn't quite match the expectations for me. I do think with some adjustments to service flow and consistency, this could be a much stronger experience.

Finley Farms is the Ozark Mill along the Finley River that was purchased by the daughter of Johnny Morris (owner of Bass Pro Shop). They did a huge renovation and conversion to include a restaurant, country store, fine dining speakeasy style bar and restaurant, coffee shop and gardens. We started with brunch at the Ozark Mill restaurant. Then walked the grounds, including an old bridge. We headed out for a few hours and returned for dinner at The Garrison (speakeasy vibe bar and fine dining). We had reservations on the patio and it was simply gorgeous. The food and cocktails were amazing. Service was exceptional - We cannot wait to go back!

Last year we had to cancel a reservation due to our friend's illness, this year we decided we can't wait for our friends anymore. We have to take matters in our hands and come by ourselves. We don't need no stinking chaperone !! We arrived early to shop in the Finley farms shop and check out the ozark Mill. The brick parking lot is beautiful and inviting, we absolutely love the history behind the Ozark Mill, and we're excited to see how gorgeous everything was on the inside. I was slightly concerned that my expectation was gonna be way way way out of bounds considering I've been looking forward to coming to this restaurant for four years. Shockingly the experience was so much better than I had anticipated. We love that we're able to check in upstairs and have a codeword to check into the speakeasy type restaurant downstairs. Not to brag but I still remember the password! We were blessed to be the first couple seated and it was fun that we got a booth so we could check out the other tables and really soak in all the ambience . Our waiter Chris is top notch. He is knowledgeable, quick to help and very authentic. Per his recommendation, we decided to have the Garrison experience which is an eight course meal. We decided this isn't happening all the time so let's go big so then we can go home. To prepare for the dinner of a lifetime. I did decide to do a 24 hour fast so that I would have every nook and cranny of my stomach ready for the amazing meal that I knew was to come, boy was I glad I did. It's obvious that one can tell the skill of a chef based on how everything tastes, what separates magnificent from excellent as when something you typically hate ends up tasting surprisingly good. I have always hated cheese. I know this is a cardinal deficiency in my palate , but it's just the truth. When I saw that there would be French and soup on the eight course meal, I quietly decided that I would just not partake in that course. When I noticed shrimp was on that same meal I knew my husband wouldn't take part in that since he hates shrimp. I figured the experience would be fine if we just didn't eat some of the things that were served to us. Shockingly enough everything was delicious. The girl who hates cheese, devoured her French onion soup, and the man who despise a shrimp decided the shrimp was actually pretty good. Wow !!! That's saying something. We of course, also had to partake in the signature cocktails. I had the molasses cocktail and my husband had the Garrison. Later, we shared the Boulter and my husband was able to have a glass of wine. Our eight course extravaganza took three hours and we loved every second of it. Kris was there the whole time warning us not to fill up too early since there was delicious food ahead. Not a piece was bad things that we typically hated we loved and we left knowing this was the night that will always remember. I am pretty sure this is going to be our standard anniversary, got a promotion, daughter got engaged sort of restaurant where we will mark big occasions with wonderful memories at the Garrison. On our way out, Brandon was sweet to help us. Take the epic Garrison photograph in the tunnel. Thank you, Garrison. You knocked it out of the park.

There is still the divider on the bar a section for the waitresses, large mirror behind the bar on the wall, the ceiling and the old beer light towards the back lead me to believe this. We were looking for a nice looking atmosphere restaurant. We were looking for a place with good food. The staff was friendly, prices were very reasonable.
