We were freezing!! So cold inside. Only 2 other small tables of 3 people each and the service was still so slow. No water brought to the table. Food was mediocre. My first visit on the recommendation of several friends. Food was delicious. Burgers were very good, onion rings were some of the best I've ever had and the milkshakes are just amazing!! So why the two star rating? The service was horrible! It ruined the whole experiance! Between the four of us, my order was the only one that was correct and it took two more tries for the other three orders before my friends just gave up and ate what they got. The gentleman that waited on us was just plain obnoxious! I guess he thought he was being funny but he definitely wasn't! He finally said he'd give us one of the burgers for free because of the screwed up orders and we were grateful for the offer. Then the bill came, what a total nightmare!! They made three attempts and never did get it right. The one burger we were supposed to get for free we actually got charged for twice! The last straw was after the third failed attempt they said they couldn't do anything more for us because our credit cards had already been run! None of our orders were complicated at all and the only special request we made was no pickles on one of the burgers, (which, I'll give them credit, they did get right) What a waste of time to drive all that way and then end up regretting the whole trip. I stopped in at Clark's for the first time in 28 years. The restaurant hasn't changed much since my last visit back in 1983. The burgers are GREAT although I wish they would serve regular french fries instead of steak fries. or give a choice to customers One thing I would recommend is that employees give their customers a few minutes to look at the menu instead of cornering them as soon as they come into the restaurant, kinda a turn off. Stop here on our way back from the beach after reading reviews on Yelp. At first was a little nervous, seemed like a place right out of the 1980's. We decided to give it a go. Walked in and was a little confused, had a sign saying please wait to be seated and no one came to do so. Then the waitress told us to sit anywhere. After seating ourselves we waited for a bit, I asked hubby did he want to wait, he told me sure, there was one waitress and one person cooking, so be patient. Glad we waited. We both got burger baskets. The fries were hand cut and delicious, not soggy and limp as sometimes happens with homemade ones. The burger was hot, juicy and filled with fresh crisp veggies. Would definitely stop in again. Service was a bit slow so that's why only 4 stars. Also they were playing old classic country music, which just made me nostalgic for a simpler time. We always ordered a humungous burger, and homemade ice cream milkshakes. Then out to our family cabin on the Satsop for fun in the sun. My husband and I have stopped at Clark's many times over the years. The previous owners were excellent as are the present owners. The menu is great. On our first visit, we learned to order one burger or patty melt, along with two plates. The burgers and sandwiches are way too large for us elderly and I don't like taking 'doggie bags' home from any restaurant. As others have stated, the wait persons are great and serve with a smile. It is a privilege to eat at Clark's. I can't wait to go back. If we happen to eat at Raymond, we still stop at Clark's for an ice cream treat on our way home. read more

We all had cheeseburgers with fries, onion rings, and potato salad. Delicious!!! For dessert we had the homemade chocolate milk shake and black berry pie with vanilla ice cream. So good!! Great service, great food and the owner Kathy was super nice, friendly and accommodating. The fried mac and cheese bites hit the spot and my Belgian waffle was one of the best I've ever had. This was a good place to eat a while ago but not anymore, the prices have gone up and the quantity and quality of the food has gone down. Example: the jumbo milkshake used to come in a milkshake glass along with the tin cup it was mixed in with the rest of the milkshake, but not anymore. Now it just comes in the glass and that's all you get at a now higher price. I took a friend there for lunch, we both ordered what used to be the Clarks burger and a jumbo milkshake. Yep that's all the 2 of us ordered, 2 burgers and 2 milkshakes, and my bill was $42 just for that, 2 burgers and 2 milkshakes, fucking ridiculous. I am a local and I'll never eat there again nor will I recommend Clarks to anyone. FYI: I had to recommend 1 star just to post this, I give Clarks -5 stars!!! read more

The food here is excellent. Clam chowder is my favorite thing in the world and they may have the best I have had... which floored me. The icecream/shakes is/are fantastic. The burgers are fantastic. That being said, the service was terrible. The place was packed and they had one waitress in there. We waited about 15 mins to have our orders taken (no drink orders taken prior). There were three of us and all of out food came at different times and all before we received silverware. Drinks also came after or in the midst of our food. The only exception was my grandfather's coffee which we demanded as he needed to take a pill. She brewed a fresh pot (fantastic) and then poured it and was on the way to bring it to the table when she was sidetracked and sat it down on the counter and disappeared for about seven minutes. I watched the coffee sit there, so I eventually got up and got it myself. Somewhere in the middle of this chaos, two more waitresses showed up. Not once did I see either of them come out from behind the counter. All three (one of which I have a hard time blaming cause she was the only one WORKING) did everything in their power to avoid eye contact with me whether my hand was raised or I was STANDING! I finally had to make some noise for them to a knowledge me (I know you buttholes saw me). Besides that, the waitress was nice. It was unfair to her and all of us for her to have been put in a situation where she ended up pissing me off so much. I know you are working your tail ogf but you can't ignore/avoid your customers. They need to hire more people or force their employees to work and not gab with friends that come in to dine. read more

We were told what a great place this was, and to stop on are way down fishing to Ilwaco. I don't think they'll have to worry about our business again. When we arrived, the young waitress told us to sit at a small table, not sure why we were the only ones there! Looking at the menu a Club Sandwich was $14 bucks so we opted for the cheese burger baskets, I've had much better burgers, and like the other review said, the kitchen didn't have the best smell! We're a little leery to order at all, and the service was not at all friendly. Had to ask several times for water, and she seemed disgusted we had come in at all! Not to worry,we won't be back.
