First couple experience were great! When I came in to give Trinh my wedding dress, she listened, provided her input and altered it to exactly what I wanted. For that, she deserves a 5 star. However, when I came back to have the dress and a few other wedding outfits cleaned, it was a nightmare. I understand she was going through a family crisis but she should not have told me that everything will be done. When I called the day of (Wednesday close to 5pm) to pick up my items, nothing was done. Her husband then told me he could somehow pull it off but it won't be till the day after the wedding (Saturday)....I don't think he understood what day I needed everything (Friday morning). This experience was very unpleasant and I would give it a 1. So I'm averaging this review to be a 3. Maybe it was all a misunderstanding and bad timing but I will not come here again. read more

My bridal salon recommended this place for dress alterations and I'm so glad I took the suggestion. I bought my dress late last year, but had to postpone my wedding by three months due to Covid. I became pregnant five months before the new wedding date and was of course worried that my dress would no longer fit. I ordered a panel of extra fabric, just in case and called Trinn to see when I should come in for my fitting. She advised that we would need to wait until as close to the wedding as possible, so we scheduled the fitting for about two weeks before and she was confident that would be enough time for her to complete everything. I went in for the fitting and she advised that I could come back in one week to pick up my dress. One week later I went in to pick up my dress, but Trinn wasn't there, so I worked with her husband. He was very nice, but I had questions about my dress that he couldn't answer and I wasn't 100% satisfied with how it fit. I paid and took my dress home anyway, feeling somewhat disappointed. The next day I got a call from Trinn saying that if I wasn't happy I could bring my dress back and she would fix it. I took my dress back and showed her what I was unhappy with. She said she would work on it and I could come back the next day to pick it up. When I picked my dress up the next day, it was perfect. Thank you Trinn for being so easy to work with and for making sure your customers are 100% satisfied when they leave your shop. Would definitely go to Trinn for any future alteration needs. read more

GREAT mom and pop shop! Tran is very nice, remembers me by name and always carries a conversation. I have brought many items to her as well as my friend who had a dress made. She bought the material and they took the measurements and made her a dress. I have brought uniforms, down comforters and coats to be dry cleaned. Trinh did an amazing job on my wedding dress! So many layers of tulle and a layer of lace and she hemmed it perfectly and even repaired a tear that I didn't notice when I purchased it. She added a bustle and cups and only charged me $130 while another place down the street quoted me for $350 for just the hem! (What a rip off!) I brought a bridesmaids dress to get tailored. The tailoring is uneven. When I went to pick up the dress and they gave it to me to try on, it still had pins in it. They didn't check in once I had the dress on to make sure I was satisfied. My dress was also missing the attached belt, and when I mentioned that, they didn't believe me until i showed a picture from the day I brought the dress in. Took them 20 minutes to find it. I can not remember who recommended this place to me to get my wedding dress altered but whoever it was Thank You! I got quoted by Alfred Angelo what I felt was a ridiculous amount then came to Trihn and she hooked me up with a fabulous price for alterations. My dress was dupioni silk and she did an amazing job with the alterations. I was really worried about the bra issue in the dress, she added cups and I didn't even need a bra or have to worry about fixing my dress the entire wedding (even with all the crazy dancing at the reception). Other places wanted to charge lots more because of the material type but Trihn acted like it was no problem for her. I went here in order to get my suit tailored for a friends wedding (yes, unfortunately, I chosen as a groomsman!), and had the greatest experience. After living in NYC for the past 5yrs and going to tailors in the East Village, and The LES, I was a little apprehensive about where to take my suit. Plus, I only had a matter of days to work with (I know, I'm a dummy). Trihn did an AMAZING job, even on such short notice, and all for a great price. The suit fits perfectly, and because of Trihn's amazing work, this $150 suit now looks better than my Hugo Boss Red Label suit. I will continue to go to Trihn for as long as I live in SD. Trinh is not the seamstress she says she is. Poor job on my wedding dress. Had to take it to someone else to have it fixed. Thank God it was fixable. One side of my dress was not fixable and I had to jut deal with it. Thank God it was only my husband and I on an island getting married. No one would really have the chance to see her screw up. I bought my wedding dress from a bridal shop (I won't mention the name), but the person who does the alterations did a horrible job on taking certain parts in (she didn't) and she did a nightmare job on the sweetheart neckline that I wanted. I left the store in tears and hated my dress. The manager of the bridal shop took my mom and I aside and suggested that I go to see Trinh. I was a little worried about letting another person touch my dress, but I'm so glad I did! Trinh knows her stuff...she is extremely talented and beyond sweet! She fixed all the mistakes that that the other seamstress made and the sweetheart neckline was incredible looking :) My tears at my final fitting were tears of happiness! I really can't praise Trinh enough - she's always friendly and helpful with all of the tailoring concerns I've brought to her (First a bridesmaid dress and then my own wedding dress and both my bridesmaid's dresses!) She is thorough and pins and tucks in all the right places, and most importantly makes sure you're happy with every pin she places. She talks you thru what the changes will look like, how the bustles will fall, etc, and will even fix manufacturer defects (My bridal gown had a crooked hemline and shoulder strap, which she spotted like a pro! and quickly offered to correct for me). Her shop is a little out of the way, and she's usually busy, but as long as you call ahead, she will work to fit you in and give you her undivided attention - just a great shop! read more

I've only been here once, but I will not go back. I took 4 items to have some minor alterations, hemming a pair of shorts and taking in a few shirts. First the bill was $48! Yikes! Then it wouldn't be ready for over 2 weeks. It was very unorganized, and as the seamstress was measuring and pinning she would put my clothes in top of a pile unmarked. I paid a deposited then thankfully checked my ticket and discovered she did not mark down the shorts she had pinned. I point it out to her and she writes it down. I return 2 weeks later. The man behind the punter brings out one of my shirts with someone else's pants. I tell them it's not mine, and then they search the place for the rest of my items which are strewn around the place. The excuse they give me is that there is another customer with my first and last name that it was misplaced with. Right... I take my stuff and leave. When I check everything at home I discover the shorts aren't hemmed correctly. Be wary of this place. The seamstress is very pleasant while measuring and marking, but the quality is not worth it. read more

I had 2 dresses I needed altered and had just moved to La Mesa. I knew nothing about the area, so I relied on yelp reviews to help me find a tailor. I took my dresses here and I am so happy with the results. She did a magnificent job and my dresses fit like a glove. I ended up paying $30 total for both dresses to be altered and they were done in less than a week. I was expecting the price to be a lot more. Trihn is THE BEST!! She is so courteous and personable. Pricing for hem line is awesome! $40 (depending on how much is being taken off). I went to a different seamstress on Fletcher parkway and she wanted to charge me $75!! That's insane! I'm here now picking up my bridesmaid dress. Trihn even waited for me (after hours) since I was stuck in horrible traffic! I thought I was going to have to just take my dress and go. But she had me try it on to make sure it was good. She altered my wedding dress and a bridesmaid dress (after a recommendation from the Alfred Angelo bridal salon), did an amazing job on both, and at such a reasonable price. I've had her alter some of my other clothing items since, and she has always delivered quality finished pieces. Tip: They are not open on Sundays, and Saturdays are usually very busy, so it's best to go in on a weekday if you can. read more

I was very disappointed in this cleaner. I gave her a coat to dry clean and for her to do a simple fix on the inner lining of pockets and she told me it would take over 2 weeks to turnaround. Since I didn't want to drive to another cleaner I gave it to her anyway. When I came back on a Wednesday to pick up, the coat was neither dry-cleaned nor repaired and she insisted that we had agreed on a pick-up on Friday. I searched yelp for a alteration place to take my wedding gown and stumbled across Trinh...She was AMAZING!!!!! I wanted to have my lace a-line wedding gown shortened to a cocktail dress to wear for my 5th anniversary. A different shop quoted me $260 and Trinh did it for under $100! It is perfect! She took the lace edging off the bottom of the dress, shortened all 3 layers and then added the lace edging back on. It may be even more beautiful now then it was long! read more
