I really wanted to like this place. I love Greek food and I loved The Grape Leaf. The food is not what it was when it was The Grape Leaf. The servers don't know the difference between Shawarma and gyro meat. The manager is not customer friendly. The lettuce was brown when I asked for a salad. This was my 2nd time here. The first time i got a bowl and it was just bland. The 2nd time i ordered the combo kabob plate. The chicken was burnt, the steak was tough to cut and chew. I love this place. It's a good price for the quality of food and amount as well. Went for dinner today and the servers were absolutely wonderful. I ordered the gyro rice bowl and almost immediately after the server got the gyro on there, someone came in and replaced the gyro meat with fresh stuff. Without asking, the server switched out my bowl of the other gyro meat with the new stuff. Super awesome--love that I didn't even have to ask. read more

Pita fresh is so yummy & fresh! My boyfriend used to be a picky eater before I came into his life haha - he was super against trying it, but once he did, even HE loved it and will eat here anytime! I love to get either the falafel bowl or the chicken shawarma bowl - he loves their chicken shawarma bowls. Their tzatziki sauce is really good too. Pita fresh is a gem in the desert. To describe it to someone who has never been, I would say it is like a Subway but with pitas. You get to choose your meat and toppings. I am writing this in response to my salad bowl I just got from pita Fresh it is sad the portions are the normal size,I can somewhat understand with the covid but a normal order is normality barely able to fit bowl an at the same price. I don't mind the meat and toppings are lesser but to have smaller portions of salad that is unacceptable. I will not be going their till after covid is over if at all. read more

Nicely re-done and fresh on inside. Simple menu done right, fast service, good serving sizes. We had rice bowls steak, Gyro along with almost all toppings. Sauces were yummy- the one thing we would suggest is to give 1/2 or whole pita with bowl. Also ordered humus and pita you get about a cup of humus (great!) For 3.49 yet they only give 1 pita bread (?) had 2 order additional pieces 2 /99 so table could share. The cashew baklava was delicious!! Honestly, restaurant looks good from the outside but the food was disappointing. I ordered a chicken shwarma wrap with garlic fries. Maybe it was because I came an hour before close, I'm not entirely sure. The wrap was quickly tossed into the grill for maybe less than 1 minute maximum and it was cold despite being in the grill. The garlic fries were good though and the customer service was also good. I ended up eating all of the garlic fries and threw away most of the wrap unfortunately. read more

It's not too bad. I will admit, I got spoiled growing up with some straight-from-the-Med home cooking. With that in mind, this place is a decent imitation. They keep their menu simple which makes it easy to run in, place your older, and get back to the office. I do enjoy their portion and price; perfect size without being over the top too much & reasonable cost. Honestly, I think their baklava is awful. First time here and all I was looking for was "dolmas." Pregnancy craving satisfied. It tastes just like I remember. First time trying dolmas was at Grape Leaf about 6yrs ago. Heard they split up and moved the Mediterranean cuisine to Pita Fresh. Inside of the restaurant was very clean. Food looked fresh. Dolmas was an A+. Very happy. Pita Fresh is excellent. Great food, atmosphere, and service. I'm a plant based eater and am grateful for the Vegan menu labeling. That is a really refreshing thing to see in Ridgecrest. Can't speak for the meat but my boyfriend loves the gyro pita. I've had Pita Fresh four times since they've opened, it is definitely crave-able. My only suggestions are that I think a second pita steamer would be beneficial, as having only the one seems to slow assembly. Also, I wish there was a a menu option and pricing for a Veggie only pita, sandwich, bowl etc. As much as I love the falafel, there are times when I don't want fried food and prefer a lighter fare. Hope that gets considered! I'm definitely going to continue being a repeat customer. read more

Pita Fresh is up and running! When you live in Ridgecrest and see signs of a new restaurant coming up you go by almost every day till one day you see the sign you've been waiting for "OPEN"!! Lol. It's a Mediterranean Grill so as soon as you enter the menu says it all - gyro,shawarma and what else,Falafel! We had the salad bowl and chicken shawarma in a pita .Both were very fresh and flavorful.I got a spicy red dressing and a caeser one ( just in case)for the salad on the side so I could try and see which one would work on the overflowing bowl of yum that I was balancing on my tray.(Some of the dressings have a very intense flavor.)I looked around and saw that people seemed to be really enjoying their food and also the attention given by members of the Pita Grill crew who go around to find out how the food was and if anyone needed anything.This place has vegetarian and vegan options.All in all a good experience and will be going there again soon! read more

Quick, clean place to grab lunch or dinner. Enough options and everything was delicious. I came with a group and i got the hummus bowl with shawarma chicken and lots of toppings. The garlic sauce was very good, very garlicky. Other people got the couscous bowl which looked amazing, they use the larger pearl couscous. Pita fresh is not so fresh. There is no freshly prepared pita bread and the salad is not very fresh either. The fries tasted old like it's been sitting there then they refried it and served it to me. So this is my first time here and it was an ok experience. Had a chicken shawarma pita and the only thing i would complain about is that the pita is thin, soggy and to sweet and the chicken was a little dry. Other than that it was good, nothing special. I do like the line system they use so you can pick your ingredients. The best shawarma pitas I've had are in Bakersfield from Pita Paradise so I compare everything else with them. read more

This is the real deal. For anyone living in or visiting Ridgecrest, do yourself a favor and check this place out. They make most (if not all) of their stuff there and it's delicious. I haven't been this happy with a Ridgecrest restaurant in a very long time. Our table had a combination of wraps and salads, and there were many different options for everyone. The salad dressing options included a garlic aioli and a greek-style vinaigrette with many toppings to choose from for a build-your-own salad experience. The wraps were much the same way with multiple meat options as well as falafel. I actually did a combo wrap with both scharma chicken and falafel and it was delicious. The combo is not on the menu, but they were very cool about accommodating my request. The place is clean, the staff is attendant and the owner was there to make sure everything ran smoothly. The falafel is the only good item on the menu. The staff yesterday ran out of pita, at a place called pita fresh. So i was told id get the bowls for pita prices, that was a lie but with 2 children i didnt complain till now. Then im offered oh ill give u a drink and desert. Well the price for the bowls covers those and since thats what I was charged sure ill take it. I enjoy being treated like i cant do basic math. The fries we ordered looked like what was left over from lunch rush. I am shocked how quickly this place went to absolute garbage. I hope you massively improve. read more

I frequently went here and was over charged about $4 and my bowl was made completely incorrect. It was before closing so when I called no on answered. I wanted to bring it back so that I could get the correct bowl and my change back. I spoke to the owner later on and he gave me 2 cookies at 99 cents each for free instead of offering me a free bowl and the money I was overcharged. I explained to the owner that I felt if I purchase something I should receive what I want. He said he would "take care of me" next time. So I said don't you want to write down my name? He said he would remember me. The next time I went I mentioned something to an employee and since he was gone he couldn't "take care of me". He gave me 15% off ( about 2.50 off) my next order. He then forgot my drinks and sauce on my bowl. No big deal but it was funny. I realize mistakes happen, but how the owner handled the situation made me not really want to come back as often .
