This is the second time this place has provided me with disappointing services. 1st time a little over a year ago, i went over for a routine oil change. Couple days later as I was driving out of state I noticed small oil spots on the ground. I stopped on a near by shop and to my surprise, the oil filter was extremely loose. They ended up adding 1 quart of oil. Today i went of state inspection and right off the gate i was told that i needed to replace the drivers side windshield blades. He showed me a small portion of the wiper rubber that was torn and that they had them there for $29. I asked them if I really had to replace them to pass inspection and i was told yes. I drove up in my car and there was a guy in the back so I rolled down my window and he asked me what I needed. I said I had a vacuum leak and needed it fixed to pass inspection. He mumbled something and pointed to the building with all the bay doors open. He then went and talked to the car behind me, so I parked my car, got out and waited at the back of my car to speak with him again. So ive been getting my oil changed here for a few years now. Always acceptable service when i go myself. But my wonderful wife was nice enough to take my truck in for an oil change a couple of weeks ago since i had travel, and she was treated very poorly. When i say ive been going here a few years, thats no exaggeration. I have religiously had these guys service my truck. I even had a little sticker on my windshield. So imagine my surprise when my wife called that evening asking why an oil change cost $80? She took a picture of the receipt and sent it to me and sure enough, they put synthetic oil in and charged her for it. Now my truck is a 2007 Tacoma with 130k miles on it. I didnt want synthetic in it. Its my beater and i like it that way. But did they ask her for synthetic? No they didnt. And my wife is no dummy. She knows the difference. She asked for the same thing i had last time. Oh, and did i mention the kind of oil is labeled on that handy windshield sticker? They could have looked it up even if it wasnt. They could have even asked if she wanted that upcharge product. But nope, they just stuck it in and charged her for it. So i dont really care about an extra 40$. But i do care about businesses mistreating people, especially women. Why mislead people for that 1 transaction? Is there some kind of personal bonus for upselling? Whatever the case, this business mistreated my wife in a way that seems all too common in the automotive industry. My daughters work on my fun car with me most weekends so they are being raised to know more about cars than any of the guys working here so they can see this stuff coming when they are older. But its still frustrating to see a business clearly disrespecting women to make a buck. Auto industry businesses can do better. Anyway, im done ranting. I wont be back there. read more

Total of about 5 hours. Service to replace the vapor canister was reasonable according to a quick google search, and they included my inspection with the estimate for the other service. I had a bad experience. I took my boyfriends car up there to get an oil change done. Not once did they say that it was going to be over $100 for the oil change! that was the total when using a discount coupon not only that they really just don't seem interested in doing anything for anybody. It's like they're there to make a paycheck, but don't want to do the work shitty communication shitty service all around if I had any other fucking choice wouldn't of paid but my boyfriend made me do it because he said they did the service so we should pay them and all honesty. Avoid this place. I hesitate to post such a negative review, but these guys are straight-up shady and they lied to our faces. Go somewhere else for your auto repair. Background: While visiting Houston, our car started leaking transmission fluid. Concerned because we were 200 miles from home, we pulled into Classic Lube. They charged us $450 to replace a gasket, and although we thought the price was steep we were desperate. Unfortunately, the next day we discovered that our transmission still leaked. Because it was closed for the holiday, we couldn't take the car back to Classic. So we had to drive the 200 miles back home, stopping every 30 miles to add transmission fluid and hoping that the engine wouldn't give up and die. We made it home after nearly 6 hours. Today we learned that Classic Lube is not part of a nationwide warranty program, even though they told us they are. They also refuse to take our calls and claim that we'll have to drive the car back to them if we want any assistance. So basically we just wasted $450 because these guys (a) didn't fix the problem, and (b) lied to us about being part of a nationwide warranty program. And now they won't even talk to us about the issue unless we drive 200 miles to see them again. No thanks. I've disputed the charge with my credit card company and hope to get my money back. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to take your car. These guys don't deserve your business. PS: I'm not sure how Yelp determines which reviews are not recommended (see the link at the bottom of this page), but I think you should also read these before considering this place. There are currently 27 reviews that are not being taken into consideration, and nearly all of them are 1-star reviews. Had a positive experience when I came to get an oil change on a Friday morning. Had initially gone to Walmart but the wait was about one hour. Came here and within minutes my car was getting serviced. I waited in the office and helped myself to coffee which was a plus for me since I hadn't had my morning cup. Office was clean and well maintained and they even had an option to sit outdoors under a patio umbrella. Service took about 15/20 minutes. Don't come here! I'm very upset over the way they treated me. My battery went bad. I bought a battery there about a year ago. It has a 2 year warranty so I went back so they could replace my battery. They hooked it up to their computer that can check the battery, the alternator, and the starter. Remember I already knew the battery was bad. They came back to me and said the starter was bad and they would not replace the battery until I fixed the starter. They wanted to charge me $1000 to fix it. So I called other mechanics who said they would do it for $500. Since I decided to go somewhere else to fix the starter, they charged me $20 for hooking it up to the computer. From there I went and talked to a mechanic who told me that without a good battery they can't test the starter. Finally I called another NTB who said yes the battery is warranted and that they would replace it for free. I went to their shop where they then charged me $120 to install the battery. Oh and the starter? It is just fine. This whole experience has turned me off from ever using NTB again even though I still have a 2 year warranty on my new battery. I fully believe that if my husband had taken the car in, none of this would have been a problem. read more

I have taken my vehicles to this place for a few years for oil changes and state inspections, but no more. I had a very bad experience here last month and I am finally getting around to writing the review. I had taken my truck in for state inspection and it failed (2004 model) the technician said it was because my #1 cylinder was misfiring. I was then told that they could fix it, no problem. So, as he was so sure he could fix the problem I accepted. Big mistake. To make a long story short, they told me it would not take long to fix. they ended up keeping my truck for over 1 week and never even knew what the problem was. They cleaned my intake, when that did not work they said I needed a new computer, then they told me that I just needed to drive it around for 100 miles after the computer change. These guys are clueless when it comes to auto repair and it cost me $1100 to find this out. I ended up taking my truck to the dealership and found it was a stuck valve and had to have the heads machined and cam replaced. I wasted $1100 on repairs that did not even need to be done with Classic Tune and Lube. I suppose if you are just getting your oil changed they won't mess it up, but take your car there for repairs at your own risk. read more

I brought my truck in to have my two ujoints replaced and I knew already that they were bad after waiting a half an hour in the waiting room they came to me with an estimate of $686 $200 of that was for an unneeded service I immediately declined. Not only did the Manager "Mo" charge me for a full synthetic oil change twice and put a "3,000 mile Next Service Due" sticker on my window each time but he was unconcerned and told me "we don't need you as a customer". A little disappointed in this place. I used this place every time I needed something done to my vehicle. Unfortunately at my most recent visit I needed more in-depth work done on my tires and breaks. A few weeks after being worked on my breaks WENT OUT completely while I was driving. I was so blessed to be near a parking lot! The company sent a tow truck to get my car and fixed it. I didn't have to pay for the second trip (but the first trip was $700). Personally with vehicles this was too large of a mistake for me to visit again. read more

BEWARE! Hell, they even make Walmart's Lube Center look great! I went to Classic Lube this morning to have lube oil and filter done on my truck. This is supposed to come with checking and topping off all fluids, Lubricating the truck (11 fittings on the front end and 1 on one of the universals in the rear drive shaft, which I told him about) draining and refilling the oil and replacing the oil filter, checking the air pressure in the tires (which I told him I wanted at 75PSI all around, he said their compressor would even do 60 PSI). This in what was done and the fees for it. Full service oil change 31.99+ 42.45 oil completed (they say) Oil filter 3.00 extra completed (special filter they said) check lights checked (they kept them on the entire time) Vacuum Interior completed (never done) Wash Exterior Windows completed (never done) Tire Pressure F35 R35 (Really? never done) Air Filter checked (never done) Breather filter N/A (they got that one right) Washer filled added (they did add but not fill ) Brake Fluid checked (didn't touch) Power Steering Fluid checked (didn't touch) Battery checked (didn't touch either of them) Coolant checked (didn't touch) Trans/transaxle checked (didn't touch) Chassis Lube 00 fittings (There are 12. First, I had 4 calipers, rotors and pads put on last October when a brake line blew and second I had a power steering pump and hoses replace when the pulley came off last August. They can't even do a routine service correctly so why would I allow them to do anything to the two most important systems on my truck. This is also why I didn't have them service my transmission and change the fluids in my transfer case and the differentials. This shop is why auto and truck techs have a bad name. Why is it that no one wants to do their job right and get a way with doing as little as possible. If you have a job, do it and do it RIGHT! That is called pride in your work. If you don't like your job, still do it right until you find one you do like or LEAVE it! It is a reflection of YOU! I turned wrenches for over 30 years, running shops for most of that time, and NEVER gave the customer less than they expected. NEVER. I hate having someone else service my truck because I know all the tricks and short cuts. I had MANY customers follow me from one garage to the next when I changed jobs because of the SERVICE I gave them, no matter how far away it was. I will NEVER return to this shop again. read more

If I could rate it zero I would. I pulled in and the guy started asking me for my info like name address number all of that and then he tells me the prices. I told him I wanted to go somewhere else but I couldn't because they started my oil change before I could even give him my answer on if I wanted to pay that or not. I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu with about 122,000 miles on it. I don't need anything fancy at all. I told them I wanted the most basic cheapest oil change. Please tell me how in tarnation this oil change was $103 before a "new customer 25% discount" and came out to $85 after the "discount". Never in my life have I paid $85 for an oil change. I ALWAYS pay around $50-$55. I am not as mad at the price as I am the fact that they started working on it before I ever approved of the price they charged. I've been coming here for years for oil changes, inspection stickers, etc. This place has updated its lobby over the years, and doesn't resemble the grease monkey décor found in so many auto places. I came here to get a brake light replaced, and one of the techs promptly diagnosed that I needed to buy the whole assembly, because it was an LED assembly (how I miss simplicity),ordered the part and a day later had it replaced efficiently and cheaply by Classic Lube. Give this place a try; if you long for Goober at Mayberry without the kitsch, try this place because its as close as you're going to get to small town familiarity, and courtesy.
