What followed was a deeply frustrating and costly experience that severely impacted our holiday plans. Less than two weeks before our scheduled arrival, The Parrish Collection cancelled our original unit (Poipu Shores A104), citing repair and permitting issues. We were understanding of the situation and accepted their offer to rebook us into a different property, Nihi Kai Villas #801. However, just two days later, that replacement reservation was also cancelled because the owner decided to use it. The company explicitly acknowledged in writing that this second cancellation was "their error." With Christmas and New Year's travel imminent and no comparable alternatives offered for our full stay, we were left with no choice but to scramble and secure new accommodations independently, which cost significantly more. While we eventually received a full refund for our original booking ($6,516.86), The Parrish Collection has outright refused to reimburse us for the substantial additional costs we incurred--a difference of $5,219.39--due to their repeated, last-minute cancellations and acknowledged mistakes. We were forced to pay $11,736.25 for replacement accommodations solely because of their failures to honor our confirmed bookings. Despite multiple professional attempts to discuss and resolve this directly with management, they remained entirely unwilling to offer any accommodation or compromise for the additional costs incurred due to their failures. Further, we filed formal complaints with both the Better Business Bureau and the Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection, neither of which has prompted a response from The Parrish Collection. This experience was incredibly stressful and costly, turning what should have been a joyful holiday into a burden of unexpected expenses and last-minute scrambling. It makes one wonder: what good is a reservation if the company can cancel it at will, leaving customers stranded and out of pocket? Adding to our concern, during our trip, we encountered numerous other travelers and locals who shared their own negative experiences or had heard similar reports about The Parrish Collection's unreliable service. Notably, when I attempted to post this factual account on The Parrish Collection's own website, it was not published, suggesting they actively screen customer reviews. We strongly advise future guests to exercise extreme caution when booking with The Parrish Collection Kauai, especially for time-sensitive or important trips. Our experience suggests a pattern of unreliable service, a lack of commitment to resolving their own failures or mitigating the financial harm to their customers, and a potential lack of transparency in customer feedback.

Cozy, well provisioned, well located and clean! The unit has two large bedrooms downstairs with queen beds (one is a master with bath) while upstairs is a loft with 2 twin beds. Beds are quite comfortable, linens feel new and not dryer burnt, kitchen well stocked with dishes and utensils enough to host a fairly large dinner party. There is a large open space with TV and a dining room. The unit opens to a patio and the master bedroom has one as well. Bathrooms are well sized. There are plenty of books to read while outside enjoying the wonderful breeze that seems to blow all day long. When a storm comes in that breeze is more a wind with driving rain that seems to last all but a few minutes, so the windows need to be closed tight. Always remember to leave shoes outside so as not to track is red dirt mud, or sand from the beach. There are beach toys for both adults and kids. The place has large ceiling fans and portable ones for when it gets hot, we used them but the heat wasn't unbearable by any means. We stayed for 10 days with six in the unit never tripping over one another. We went to Oahu for a few days and the accommodations were pallid in comparison to this unit, we were glad to get back here! The only downside is the street noise at times, but since we were at the beach, pool or exploring the island it mattered little. The view from the balcony is pleasant, the neighbors were generally quiet, and the parking excellent. We'd consider a return the next time we need a place in Poi'pu, most definitely!!

Took them 18 hours (8:51 p.m. to 3:03 p.m) to fix it so we didn't have a working toilet through the night. I had to find a bucket on my own to use to fill with water and get it to flush. We also could walk about 8-10 minutes down to the beach and use those filthy toilets or ask the local restaurants. Next issue was a concern of our privacy in the bathroom. There was a large hole in the wall (partially covered with a picture) and I mean LARGE that led to a closet/storage area. If someone was in the closet, they could see directly into the shower. The hole was big enough to where someone could tip the picture out and literally grab you. Pictures attached. When I raised this with the property manager (who you never actually see on site), they simply said that nobody was in the closet so don't worry about it. Lastly was the bathroom was disgusting. More pictures attached. I asked for a partial refund and they said they would mail us a check (even asked for the mailing address). No check ever arrived and they stopped responding to my follow-ups.

VRBO failed to honor their rental guarantee which states we 'have the right to enter the rental for the ENTIRE duration of our rental term'. Throughout the process of trying to get a refund, Pete repeatedly sent multiple inappropriate text messages to my wife telling her to "F$#% You"... "Sh@# Head". He only stopped after we filed a harassment report with Kauai Police. We are considering pressing charges. Pete is very two faced and what he says to in front of you is not how he feels or what he thinks about you when he is behind a computer screen. Don't let him SCAM or BULLY YOU. GO ELSEWHERE

The pictures of this condo do not do it justice - it is really beautiful in real life with breezes passing through all day long. From the view of the gorgeous gardens, the glimpse of the ocean's crashing waves, we slept like babies listening to the breeze and the soft rustle of palm fronds. The place was spotless, fully stocked with appliances, beach chairs, cooler, snorkel gear...you name it. The private lawn by the ocean offers loungers, towels and rental equipment. It's just a few steps down to a sandy beach with an area for swimming and boogie boarding. The mall across the street has great shops and restaurants as does the Sheraton immediately behind the property. Everything is in walking distance and there is a great quiet road along the ocean for a morning run! On top of that, the staff was friendly, extremely efficient, and responsive. We locked our keys in the condo the first night and security showed up in 5 minutes! We extended our stay and car one day quickly and easily. Can't recommend this place enough!!!!

The complex itself is located conveniently next to shopping and eating. It's about a 5-7 minute drive into the town of Kapaa which has numerous shopping and eating opportunities. The central location is also convenient to everywhere else on the island. Lihue airport is about 10 minutes away, but we did not hear a single plane during our stay. The condo we stayed in was oceanfront and really great. Beautiful view of the ocean. We booked it through VRBO and received what we think is a reasonable price. The condo was quiet with the only noise from the ocean, not bad! The bathroom was updated. The bed was soft and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you need, very well-equipped and supplied. Washer and drier is very convenient. Cable TV. Lots of leftover DVDs to watch too, nice! Overall, a great place to stay during your Hawaiian vacation.

Also close to Costco, 2 Safeway's, and a Foodland. I would stay in Kaapa over Poipu or Princeville. It's not as touristy and more local.
