Claws is definitely a close 2nd to The Boiling Crab. I've only been there once but I DO see myself going back soon. When you don't feel like waiting FOREVER to eat at the boiling crab then make your way on over to Claws. They get the same # of stars as I gave the Boiling Crab even tho the flavor isn't as good their menu has ALOT more to offer and I fell in love with the Strawberry Lemonade. read more

We ate here last Thursday and I really enjoyed it! The waiter was so nice and patient. They were great at refilling drinks or getting us anything we needed. I love that you can make reservations so no long wait time which can be difficult with two young children. I like that they had a more diverse menu. I, myself am not a fan of pulling off the heads of shrimps but give me a crab and I am one happy girl. We had the calamari which was great! Also my family really like the shrimp and clams. I thought the crab was pretty good. I was disappointed they didn't have dungeness crab but they had the snow crab clusters and it was good. The mild sauce does still have some zing to it so be careful if you have little ones. I ordered my kids the fried catfish and fries and we all thought it was great! I haven't been to a Boiling Crab, but I hear this one is better, and I believe it! They have a great dinner (and I'm assuming lunch) deal. Their Cajun fries are really good and I tend to lean towards getting the shrimp. The crawfish is good, but you just don't get much meat in it and same with the clams and oysters (but dang it they're so good). I also really like their fried okra. One thing: be careful in terms of the spiciness. It sneaks up on you. The medium is a good spicy level. This place is definitely super busy for dinner so get their early!! I really mean 3 1/2 stars. This is a typical creole/seafood place that serves food from the bag. For me, this would be a step below boiling crab and a step above other crawfish places. A plus about this place is that when you order their shrimp, they are huge! Like absolutely huge! It is a dollar up per lb than boiling crab but considering the size of the shrimp, it's pretty legit. The bad part is that because the shrimp is so big, it doesn't really hold the sauce well. Once you get through a couple, it gets to be really bland. Came here with a large group of friends ( 10+) and waited over 1 hour for a table on a Friday night with reservations. I ordered the coconut snails and large cajun fries (I'm allergic to shrimp). The coconut snails was delicious but hard to eat in a restaurant setting. I spent most of my time struggling with the the little suckers out of their shells. Cajun fries could use a little bit more flavor, I prefer Boiling Crab's cajun fries. Overall, It is not too bad of a place but with a 1 hour wait I would rather go to boiling crab with more of a kick in their flavors. read more

The food is decent, not as good as boiling crab in my opinion. The prices for the family meal deals are fair. The one thing I don't like about this restaurant is sometimes it smells like sewer and they bring the main dish out minutes after they bring the appetizers out. I came to eat with me husband and nephew ...we waited for more than 30 minutes , 9 tables were opened but they didn't want to seat us down because they said they were only 4 servers... What kind of restaurant has just a few servers for dinner? Had such a fabulous dinner. I ordered a bottle of wine (not the greatest selection, but good), and shared the 3 pounds of shrimp and crawfish. The food was absolutely delicious! Boiling Crab spoiled it for me. Had i never gone to BC, i'd have loved it. But i still like it a lot. Lots to like, wait time is much shorter, but that's not to say this joint isn't crowded. They have a bar but only serve beer and wine. Decent selection of bottled beers, no real selection of wine. The calamari was really good, the crawfish was amazing, canjun fries were amazing, jumbalaya was good, the wings are INSANELY SPICY. The bathrooms smelt really really bad and my brother said there was puke in the mens. We were there for a couple of hours and I'm surprised it never got cleaned up. They can only split the check 3 ways... I don't really know why? Our server was great, although she probably could have gotten a couple more bucks out of us if she kept on top of our beers (but they were pretty busy). Overall I'd say I'm comin back. Hands down the best place for cajun style seafood! We always get the shrimp, mud bugs (Mild Canonball), corn, sauasge, and rice when we come here, so much better then Boling Crab, we tried it out because we were so sick and tired of the wait at BC and when we did we just love the food. I love love love Claws! I've frequented this place for years now, every time I'd come down from Washington to visit family. I just moved to California, so I'm sure I'll be dining here at least once a month now! My husband and I get the same thing every time: crab legs, corn, potatoes & sausage, Medium Spicy Cannonball style. We also get steamed veggies & rice to soak up all the tasty sauce. It tastes the same every time- delicious!! I also love the peach iced tea. It has real peach slices in it! I recommend calling ahead to get on the wait list, as it's usually pretty busy.
