We had Thanksgiving dinner here with a group of 16 people and it was excellent; every meal was done perfectly. Out of the 16 people only 3 had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner which looked very good. I had the scallops and could have eaten them every day of our stay in Siesta Key. It was the best scallop dish I have ever had. My wife had the grouper and she said it was excellent as well. I would highly recommend a visit to Claytons, its worth it! read more

Mediocre at best. Service was good but the food was unimpressive and I swear the cocktails used watered down alcohol.

Food and service were less than average. Sat on the patio. A storm was rolling in. Winds were picking up. My mother was hit in the head with a giant metal pole. We were offered free dessert. We will NEVER be back. read more

We had a wonderful experience for our first time dining at Clayton's! Our server, Leah, was amazing! She recommended dishes to us, she brought us extra butter and loaves of bread, and all with a smile! Clayton's is amazing. Ambiance is great sitting on the patio with the cool evening breeze. Food was the best I've had on the island. Most places are pretty heavy on the fried food, but Clayton's felt more upscale. I had the scallops and gnocchi which were done perfectly and my wife had a Greek pizza with a delicious crispy crust. We normally love Clayton's but the last 2 times we have went to the bar for drinks and appetizers we had a terrible experience to the point we left. The food was bland and burnt and our cocktails were terrible. The bartender was also rude. We LOVED our waitress we had for dinner outside and our steaks were great. Still giving 4 stars as we love our dinner it's just appetizers and drinks that went downhill. It stinks because it used to be our favorite spot read more

We couldn't ask for better service or food! Clayton's is always fantastic. We have special seating needs and they always do their best to accommodate us. The staff could not be any nicer. Well earned 5 stars here. Ambience was fitting for the beautiful coastal waters of Siesta Key. We were greeted with a warm smile as soon as we walked in. Jim was our server for the first evening we were there. Jim was spectacular. He added to the experience with excellent service and personality. The food! Wow....we hit the jack pot when we found this place. The rosemary bread was still steaming and was as fresh as could possibly be. The bread is worth mentioning, but be careful not to get full on the bread as tempting as it may be. My wife had the mahi mahi tacos . I stole a few bites. Fresh, seemingly out of the water, fresh. Crisp, cool toppings gently laid on the meaty mahi mahi. Absolutely delightful. I ordered the macadamia nut encrusted grouper. It arrived in front of me hot, and perfectly prepared. It is obvious the chef cares and takes pride in the food that is plated. **The best grouper I have ever had by far** I have to emphasize FRESH....it makes a world of difference. Man was it delicious. We came back for the pizza. Happy hour 4-630. Pizza is delicious. Thing crust, fresh dough, fresh ingredients. This has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Siesta Key. My family and I found ourselves unable to check into our rental on Siesta Key and looking for lunch, with a dog in tow. I frantically searched Yelp and came across Claytons Siesta Grille as a dog-friendly option for lunch. We sat down and were immediately tended to. My pup was brought a huge bowl of water to quench her thirst. I was happy to see what a pet-friendly place Claytons was; I looked around the patio area and saw several other tables with dogs. Since it was Sunday, they were still serving breakfast in the noon which is always a plus! I received a free Bloody Mary with Yelp check-in and ordering a breakfast entree. The Bloody Mary was delish and so was my breakfast. I ended up choosing the Breakfast Tostada which was scrambled eggs, black beans, guac, sour cream, salsa, and cheese on top of a crispy flour tortilla with a side of cheesy grits. My two kids ordered chicken fingers and fruit and chips. Our table also ordered a Turkey Club Sandwich and Burger, which were both tasty as well. I raved about Claytons to our family friends who were also on vacation in Siesta Key. It definitely ranks up there as one of the places that will quickly become a regular on our annual trips to Sarasota/Siesta Key. read more

Like other folks have stated "do not judge a book by its cover" Once you walk in Clayton's it is absolutely adorable. No kidding. Just lovely and lively. I'm sorry to say but based on the outside of the building I probably wouldn't have given it a chance. Shame on me!! I had the pep and sausage pizza which sounds simple but it was mouthwatering good. Ingredients were fresh, dough was delicious, thin and slightly charred. My honey had the lobster pasta. Delicious and creamy and they absolutely did not skimp on the lobster. Last but certainly not least our server Kelly was funny, kind, efficient and made a great dinner even better. Sooooo glad I read the YELP reviews and gave Clayton's a chance! Hostess recommended I make a reservation so glad I did! I don't know if we would have waited but we would have missed out! Server was awesome. Even made my friend son a virgin mojito with no smart comments! We had the espresso martini and my friends mom had the key like Martini all three were great! They have a full menu with VEGAN options I thought this was awesome and it made everyone happy!!! They said lobster tacos were the BEST My cauliflower steak was great but the mushroom risotto was to die for!! Right along with the beet salad I got mine without goat cheese Overall service was great. Ate here several times during our vacation last year and always had great service and food. Made reservations for last weekend, seated at one of the tables for two, that seem to be squeezed in just for extra seating, even tho there were multiple other open tables. Our waitress seemed bothered to serve us and asked to take our meal and drink order immediately. When we said we hadn't decided on food she again seemed bothered. Didn't take long to get drinks (don't recommend the Pinot Grigio) and she agin wanted to take our meal order. We ordered the meatball appetizer, which was delicious, and she asked for our dinner order. Said we would order after the appetizer and she acted very annoyed. There were still multiple open tables and no one waiting. Ordered the ribeye and short rib which were delicious last year. Had to ask two other servers for bread as we couldn't find our server and when she finally brought the basket she dropped it on the table and walked away. Steak was cooked correctly but had no flavor and short rib could have been cooked longer. Very disappointing dinner in service and food. Restaurant could also use a good cleaning. read more
