Everyone in the crew was clean and neat in appearance and arrived right on time. They were coming and going throughout the day and there were a bunch of them, including Tony Lescanec and Jim Thomason, and they were all really great guys (I say "guys" because I saw no women on site). I'm the type that wants to know stuff and I asked a lot of questions. They were always courteous and friendly in answering everything I "needed" to know. After the install, they went over each piece with us, including the new fancy thermostat. The system is fantastic - it's so quiet - and it works great! I can't wait to see how it does during the upcoming HOT summer months. Btw, they left the area rather clean, save for a couple of pointy screws. Great work by the team from Roth Home. It was a bit more spendy than we had anticipated, but with their "free AC if you buy a furnace" promo and the lifetime parts and labor warranty, we were going with Roth!

Beware of Flat Rate Pricing There's a lot that can be said…read moreabout the service Roth Home offers, in terms of the timeliness and quality of their work. However, their flat rate pricing resulted in my wife and me paying $790.42 for an hour's worth of actual plumbing work for what turned out to be two simple tasks--removing and installing a new faucet in the kitchen sink and draining our hot water heater. Roth Home's initial price for the faucet repair was $878.24. They also drained the hot water heater while they were here. We did not ask questions about what was involved and how long it would take (our mistake). When we questioned the charges after the work was done, we were given a 10% senior discount. Later they said we weren't charged the usual fee of $336 to drain the hot water heater. According to them, we were "only" charged $790.42 and received a "savings" of $423.82. Our recommendation is to ask questions and proceed with caution. Document what you are told (and by whom) and how long any work takes.

I had a great experience with Comfort Connections. I used Yelp to reach out to a few…read moreelectricians/HVAC companies in the area, and got a speedy call from Steven. When on the phone, he was very personable, asked questions to learn more about the issue, and even explained in detail his thought process. It was very transparent in terms of what the service and price would look like. He had me call another number to get scheduled which I was able to do very easily. They got someone scheduled at a date/time that was convenient for me, and someone showed up right on time. I had a faulty bathroom fan that was going to be an electrical hazard. Thanks to them, they were able to replace that fan, install a new switch for the bathroom, and even create a new airway for the vent through the roof. I didn't even know I needed all that done, and they were able to do it quickly and efficiently. As the homeowner of a rental property, I was not there when the work was being done, but the technician Justin, was great about calling me when he was on the way, calling me when he was able to diagnose the issue, and texting me when the job was done. Again, very transparent and I could tell this whole team knows what they're doing. My tenant also had great things to say about Justin when he was at the house. She showed me the work he did and explained how thorough and quick he was. This is probably the best experience I've had with a technician for any house work that I've needed to get done. I would highly recommend Steven, Justin, and the whole team, and will hire again!

I was looking to get a quote for an HRV installed so I called and asked about that. I was asked when the last time our HVAC was serviced and since it had been a couple years was told we should just schedule a service before going ahead with a quote. So I scheduled - great! Guy came out and performed the service, but during the service the float switch we had on the system (so the condensate from the AC wouldn't overflow into our crawlspace if the drain got a clog) shorted the system when he plugged it back in. He said these things are unusual and not needed, since if it overflows it'll just have water in the crawlspace, no big deal (!?!), not like if the HVAC was in the attic. And the system wouldn't turn on unless he unplugged it, was that ok? Since I wanted the HVAC and AC to work I said ok. I asked the technician about getting a quote for an HRV and how that would work, etc, and he said he didn't know much about those and that he didn't see why they were necessary. While agree they're not necessary, we want one to improve our indoor air quality - thus the original call! He said he would note it down and the office would get back to me. Left with a $300 service bill, and an HVAC system in worse-off shape than before (no working float switch), I called back the next business day to see what could be done. The owner was really helpful and said he'd look into it, called back the next day and had the part ordered and would fix the float switch for free. I asked about getting a quote for an HRV and he said they don't really do them, so couldn't help out here. Ugh! That's why I called originally and wouldn't have had someone out here and paid $300 for service I didn't really want. All I really wanted was a quote! Lesson learned on my part, but overall won't be working with them again as they didn't help be address what I wanted to with my system (and I'm out $300 which seems pricey for what was ~1 hour maintenance service)
