Mess of Lake Perch with side French Onion Soup
    Laura M.

We always make it a point to have a Clementines night during our annual summer vacation in South Haven, and it's one of those traditions we look forward to every year. It was raining and past the dinner rush, so we were pleasantly surprised to have no wait. We had to start with the onion rings, which are a family favorite and never disappoint. We also ordered the Mess of Perch, which is an absolute must every time we visit. My dad chose the walleye, and my son was perfectly happy with the buttered noodles from the kids' menu. The perch and walleye both come with Texas toast and your choice of side, making for a lot of food. I got the French onion soup and it was great. We left completely stuffed and already talking about our next visit. What makes Clementine's so special is that it never tries to be anything other than what it is. In a world where everything seems to change, Clementine's has stayed true to itself, and that's exactly what makes it such a cherished part of our South Haven vacation tradition year after year.

Cute inside and there's something for everyone. I would not come back personally, but it did the job of feeding us. Pros: hefty pours of wine and the French onion soup Meh: the food was quite mediocre at best. Burger was so dry and overcooked, the salad had potential but it just felt like something you could pick up at the grocery pre made section.

I was really happy with my meal here ! I enjoyed a burger and the French onion soup - the soup was my favorite part. Service was good. Kids liked their meals too. Definitely would come back.

My family loved visiting this restaurant while we were on vacation in South Haven! The wait was worth it! The service was great, our food came quickly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant kept us having a great time visiting with each other. Everyone at our table loved what they ordered, which doesn't happen often! They even had gluten free bread for my husband and I, which made our day, as we could try the sandwiches we were wanting. This restaurant is a classic you'll come back to each time you visit the town!

With a line out the door, I was expecting a bit more pizzazz. Service was excellent (thanks Danny!) and the food came out FAST, but I was confused how they weren't able to turn tables faster. It was after 7:30 by the time we got seated for dinner on a Wednesday, but we were well taken care of. The french onion soup was a big hit for a rainy day.

Lunch was very good. French onion soup had a fantastic layer of cheese on top. Service was excellent.

First stop in South Haven for our anniversary getaway - the iconic Clementine's! Rich with history in the atmosphere and aesthetic. We were sat in the side dining area and wished we were on the bar / more casual side as it was significantly more lively. Great menu selection and the food was a solid start to the weekend. I would definitely get the steak again - the butter really seals the deal!

Met the family for an early Saturday lunch. It has been awhile since we were here last. What I do remember was the great service we received from our server. She was super friendly and interactive with our kiddos. Very complimentary of my sister in laws brand new baby. The food was delicious and very well prepared. I got the Rueben with curly fries and it was a tasty treat for sure. The kids got chicken tenders and mini corn dogs while my wife got a sandwich as well. Fun place and great meal couldn't ask for more.

stopped in with my friend for a quick cup of soup and a drink prior to our bachelor party. we are quickly sat at two barstools at the full bar. we both ordered a vodka lemonade, and we got the croc of French onion soup. It was a very delicious and would highly recommend. restaurant was pretty busy for 3 PM in the afternoon but very clean! highly recommend if you're in town!

We started with the onion rings which we LOVE!! They weren't the same and we are not sure if it was the breading or cooking. The breading was smoother than normal plus tougher and a little doughy. They were ok but not as good. The double eagle salad was EXCELLANT and what my husband normally orders. He ordered the honey mustard (normally gets thousand Island) and did not like it at all. His personal preference not Clem's fault. I had the French dip (high roller) with French onion soup as the side. I love this sandwich and the soup and get it often. It was very good and the soup was hot & good too. The only reason I didn't give a 5 is because of the onion rings. Our server was really good also but I didn't get her name.

I went in for the onion rings and Diet Coke, and they did not disappoint. I only made it through 1/4 of the tower, but it was worth it! There was a group of 4 next to me at the bar and we all laughed over each ordering the onion rings. Service was good, and ambiance was fun.

    Which is better, 6" or 12"? 12, definitely 12.

Headed straight to Clementine's when we arrived in South Haven. Mid-afternoon lunch after fall color watching. Always a great experience. Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere in a sweet lakeside town.

Food was pretty average. Service was excellent. Worth checking out during a visit but it is not in my list of places to rush back too.

Clems is great and consistent. They shouldn't allow kids in the bar area. Bartenders and servers are always super nice.

Could be one person in the kitchen. They need some help. Folks waiting and ringing the bell to get checked out. Ordered crab Rangoon, 4 pieces, 2 chicken only spring rolls, chicken satay, drunken noodles with chicken and added garlic, Khao pad ga prow with chicken and added veggies, spicy. $58.16 Can't get steamed tofu here, only fried. The crab Rangoon wonton wrapper is thick, too thick and heavy. The creamed cheese inside has an odd texture and leaves an unpleasant after taste, not what I expected, super sweet. Color looks odd. The whole thing is off and doesn't taste right. The dipping sauce is not quite duck sauce or what I expected either. I have a feeling today's lunch will be interesting. I am hopeful the rest of the apps and meal goes better than the first starter. The chicken satay is super dry. The peanut sauce is thick as heck. The spring roll had some older lettuce, not great. The sauce was not peanut sauce, just topped with peanuts was all. The fried rice is meh, nothing special. The main dishes aren't big portions. The drunken noodles aren't too bad, small portion, which is fine. The drunken noodle was the best part of the meal, that's not a good thing. Service and most of the apps and food leaves much to be desired.

Taste of Asia has food from several Asian countries including Thailand, Vietnam & Laos. When we arrived we met Lena the very charming & helpful owner from Laos. She gave us a brief rundown on some of the food items available on their menu. I see my fellow Yelper formerly from Chicago Leang has also been here. I guess foodies find good food no matter where you live or travel to lol We started w/an order of shrimp spring rolls that came w/4 spring rolls loaded w/fresh lettuce, bean sprouts & shrimp. * Issan Pad Ga Pow - Ground Chicken w/Thai Basil, onion, jalapeño w/jasmine rice ball in the center & a crispy fried egg on top of the rice perfectly cooked w/a nice gooey egg yolk on top of the jasmine rice (Excellent Dish) our favorite * Pad See Ew - Thick rice noodles w/beef, Chinese broccoli & egg w/soy sauce w/a sweetness * Larb V - season minced meat, lime juice, patise, cilantro, bean sprouts & sliced cucumbers. Very good but a tad too salty for our taste. So many times when restaurants try to cook a variety of different Asian dishes from multiple countries you end up w/a variety of mediocre dishes. This wasn't the case w/Taste of Asian where each dish had its own unique blend of seasonings that made it unique to the country being represented. Our host Lena was very helpful in helping us choose our dishes. The young girl (probably her daughter came out to check on our needs several times). Her 4 year old son was tasked with bringing out a sticky rice ball wrapped to each table. I asked him how many girlfriends he had he held out his hand w/4 fingers. He better not get any older or he'll be in trouble w/1 girl for every year lol Great food, great service w/a nice choice of options in terms of the dishes to choose from.
