I ordered by phone at approximately 6:45 pm, they went over my order to confirm, spelled my name to be sure. I arrived at 7 pm and was told it would be right out. It finally came to the register at 7:40 and nothing about either order was right, nor was my name spelled right. I asked if they were sure it was my order and they said it was. Mgr offered to remake both orders but I told him I could not wait another 55 minutes. The last time we ate inside, they brought our food from the kit Hen and we never saw our waitress again. We got another server to get us drink refills and then asked her if she could bring our ticket as we needed to leave. Not a bad spot to eat and relax. The night that we arrived into NC to meet up with some good friends - decided to come to this place after the Deep River Brewery (which is excellent and will be reviewed shortly). There was a band playing when we got there and we seated ourselves by the bar in the back. I do not remember the beer that I order (keep in mind...we did just come here after going to another brewery), but I do remember ordering The Raider Burger. The Raider burger: "Blackened and topped with seafood breaded onion rings, Pepper Jack cheese, & Remodulade sauce" - and I don't know about you folks, but I like my meat cooked rare. My husband got the Draft House Cuban sandwich: "Sliced authentic Cuban spiced pork, thinly sliced smoked ham, swiss cheese, yellow mustard, and dill pickle chips pressed between Cuban bread". I HIGHLY recommend getting the side of chips if you decide to come here! The fries you can get anytime, but the chips are really crispy and the dip that it comes with is so worth it. When my burger came out, it seemed like a lot of food...but I totally ate that whole thing. The chips and dip are def worth trying, and my burger was cooked just the way I wanted it to...fresh off the cow. haha-totally kidding. It was delish and I wouldn't mind coming back here again. I did manage to sneak in a bite or two of the Cuban sanwich and would recommend that as well. My husband is a huge Cuban Sandwich fan, so anywhere we go...he will most likely order the cuban sandwich if he can. Anyways, the food was delish and the band was fun. Our server did disappear towards the end of the night, but we were able to ask another server to get our check. Not a bad place. (Also, there is another side to the place that closes during the later evenings. They seem to know their market and busy hours on their targets. Absolutely awful. Would never recommend nor go back. Awful service by the people working waited 30 mins and were ignored and had to go up to the waitress working and gave us an attitude and the bartender seemed annoyed when we ordered drinks and stood around. Wasn't even busy. Ended up just having to leave after waiting over an hour for food on a Monday night and went to a different place. Waste of time and money. Payed attention to my friend and my boyfriends when we walked away for a moment. Just rude and terrible service. Would give zero stars if I could to be honest unfortunately. The entrees had good flavor and everyone in our group of 8 thought the food and service were very good for a sports bar type restaurant. Prices were reasonable including the beer and wine. I am impressed with the tapped beer, but the lay out like it's sister establishment I can't stand. I could not imagine a Friday night trying to get off your seat at the bar and bumping into the hi top 4 seater behind you. Nobody was at the table & I was bumping into it after I got off the stool. I understand why the have pool tables but it takes up so much space. I was really hoping they would make adjustments at this new location. The food was average, at least the steak cucumber pita was. The accompanying green chili I had was pretty good. The queen enjoyed the spinach salad in which she added chicken, and all contents seemed fresh. So I rate it A-OK, and really don't plan to go there for night life but won't rule out going there for the large beer selection for a litte afternoon tasting. read more

Where do we start!!! This was our first and last visit.. Environment was dark, cold and needs to step out of the 90's with colors, decor and carpeting. Server was nice but not punctual at all. I had the special of the day which was fish and chips, hush puppies, coleslaw. I asked server if coleslaw came with the meal, she said no! So I ordered a side of slaw. You can't have fish without slaw. My food came out and guess what?!! It had slaw on the plate. Which was messed up because they charged us a side dish of slaw too. Now let's talk about the FISH. The fish was so greasy, that I had to place my napkin under it to absorb the oil. When I held the fish up it just poured out and saturated the napkin. That was disgusting!!! Coleslaw was just ok! The hush puppies were AWSOME THOUGH! My husband order the Cowboy Burger which came out dry and over cooked, sweet potato waffle fries were soft and soggy. I asked for my ribs well done. The first time they came they were ice-cold, the plate was literally warmer than the ribs. I sent them back and then they forgot to bring them to me, my family was almost halfway done when they finally brought them. The manager sets them down and she whispers "and I took half off your bill" like it was some big deal and she did me a huge favor. We haven't been in a while because past visits have just been average and service was was below par. Well on the NextDoor neighborhood app someone had asked for a place that had good fish and chips. A few folks suggested this place. Coming home yesterday we decided to stop in and to give it another shot. Got seated right away and service was on point. We ordered the fish and chips per the suggestions. When the dish came it looked wonderful. Unfortunately We were underwhelmed. Fish, white fish, was bland and breading sure needed some salt. While visiting a friend for the weekend we decided to try this place today. Needless to say we were NOT impressed. I got the turkey Ruben and it was mediocre at best. The side salad I got was the best part. The ranch dressing was great. One person with us got a hamburger and it was like a hockey puck. She didn't eat it and was never asked if anything was wrong with it. The other person got a French dip, she said it was good but the size of the sandwich was like a child's portion for the price. Disappointed in the lack of precautions taken at this restaurant. Seating at every booth, instead of every other booth, doesn't seem safe. They did have little dividers between each booth but they aren't very high and couldn't possibly provide the protection they should. Several members of the wait staff wore their masks below their nose and one guy was all over the restaurant without a mask on at al (carries it in his hand). Avoid this place if the heavyset male bartender with redish hair up in a bun is working the bar. Second time this guy "served me". First time I almost walked out because of being ignored by him. I called him on it, he apologized which I accepted and everything else went fine for the rest of that night. Tonight, same bartender (after he gave me a menu because I told him I wanted to order food) just kept walking by me. No eye contact, no attempt to see if I was ready to order which I was. He had no problem chatting it up with his regulars on either end of me, including using foul language behind the bar. I got fed up, asked for my bill (for one whole beer) and left to fend for dinner somewhere else. It's like I did something wrong by sitting at the bar. Reading the other comments, it's clear this guy is a problem but management either doesn't care or is so frightened at the thought of being short a bartender that they won't do anything about his behavior. To start with the service was slow and the waitresses were arguing over who's table it was. The food came and the first bite of the Roast Beef sandwich was a big slice of gristle and the meat smelled rotten. The waitress said she would have to show it to her manager. If you want to go to a subpar pub where it takes ten minutes for the bartender in front of you to say anything on a Sunday night when there were 5 people at the bar and 4 other bartenders and then another 15 minutes for them to ask if anyone had asked if you wanted anything to order, then go here. If you want to hear bartenders curse prolifically for absolutely no reason about the customers and patrons and to you then this is your place. If you want to have a bartender plunging the sink directly in front of you while you eat and not say a word to you or acknowledge your water is empty and genuinely act as if you are invisible then by all means go here. The burgers all taste like frozen burgers you would get at a Walmart and grill yourself. I thought I can bring this to mind that last night the food was not appetizing.the nachos came out with the pork and cheese all stuck in the middle where the chips were braking from the weight. The food was cold and had a weird taste. We left and payed our bill I mentioned it to the staff that it was cold and they took it off the tab. But my wife that's a supervisor at work had to go in sick, she woke me up at 3am and got sick from the cold pork. Her stomach was burning maybe from the over powering of the vinegar, maybe who knows. Stopped in this past Saturday for a beer with a buddy of mine. Walked up to the bar and sat down. Bar was about half full (it was 4:15pm) and there seemed to be 2-3 bartenders on. Took about a minute for one of the bartenders to take our drink order with. His attitude off the bat seemed like he could have cared less if he was there or not. Poured our beers and put them on the bar, foam and beer spilling over the sides. He didn't wipe them off, offer a napkin or a coaster he just walked away. My friend and i were planning to stay for another drink or two, but the bartenders made no effort to engage the customers and we sat, glasses empty for quite a few minutes before we had to flag down a female bartender to tab out and leave. I had higher hopes for this place, since I am new to the area and it has pool tables and what looks like a stage for music some nights. We have lived in Clayton for a little over a year, and this was the first time we thought we would try the Cleveland Draft House. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon after a movie, and were pleasantly surprised that it was not too crowded, because we were quite hungry. The building is split into a huge pool hall/bar area, and a small dining area with booths and tables. It was REALLY loud in there because the band supposed to be playing on the patio, were in the bar area instead (maybe because it was 98 degrees outside!) Loud and awful. The hostess seated us with NO eye contact. Threw the menus on the table and left. After about 15 minutes a young man took our drink order. Another 15 minutes and we got drinks. Tried to order but he walked away. another 10 minutes...we contemplated walking out, and we should have. By the time we finally got food served, an hour had passed. I got the Draft Ribeye, medium rare. It was fatty and rare. Canned green beans and cold mashed potatoes. My husband didn't fare any better with the meatloaf. The server asked if we wanted to go boxes. My husband blurted "God, no!" No apology, no emotion what so ever. Just a $31 check for a lousy meal in a poor atmosphere. Waste of time and money. We get 3 feet in the bar area and some guy with a security shirt on stops and asks for an ID. I tell him that we're just trying to eat dinner and he says we can't be in the area unless we're 21. Since when do you have to be 21 years old to eat dinner? I can go to a club but I can't eat dinner near a bar? On top of that, he was an asshole the entire time. The whole time he had an attitude. Gave this place another shot. We haven't eaten here in at least 3 years. We were given a wait with 8 empty tables. That was odd. The server was great. He was super attentive and on top of everything. The food though was just so not impressive. My husband had a burger again- it was cooked very rare for a burger. Especially one that was not requested rare. My son had the chicken tender kids meal. He ate the fries only. They have boneless chicken there but use frozen processed chicken for the kids meal. Odd. I had the French dip. The meat was cold and dry. Last night we went around 9:30 to the Draft House in Clayton. When we arrived there was no one at the front and they had a sign that said wait to be seated. After about 15 minutes another customer actually told us to go ahead so we went in to the dinning area. After sitting in the dinning area, we finally saw the waiter. We called her over and she just passed by us and completely ignored us. Then when she finally stopped at the table and we had to ask her for the menu again. She then proceeded to leave and attended other customers. After 10 more minutes she passed by our table and threw the menu at the table. We looked at her and she just kept walking. We then get up and asked for a manager. After about 10 more minutes the manager came over and told us that "well the dining area was about to be closed when we came in". We told him how it was our first time there and we did not know and there was no sign or anyone there to let us in. He seem like he did not care at all. Then offer to give us free drinks. As a vegetarian my expectations were low for a sports bar. The Draft House surprised me. They had a number of menu items that a vegetarian (not vegans) could eat. These choices were tasty and ample. The staff was cordial and service oriented creating a friendly atmosphere. It is a sports bar, so fine dining is not the order of the day. A couple of weeks ago saw me coming back in to this location with my lady to meet one of her best friends and her husband. No kids this time. I told myself, based upon my previous review, that I would have to come back and try that same burger again to see if I got the soggy buns for a second time. My lady's friend told me she comes here every week religiously and had never had a soggy bun before and encouraged me to give it another shot. So I did. And this time around it was perfect. The sweet tea again wasn't sweet and it didn't taste fresh. I asked for a replacement and the new cup was perfect. Not sure why I can't seem to get the good sweet tea on the first try. Maybe there's a premium and unleaded version of sweet tea and I keep getting the latter. Oh well, it was a win in the end. A good dining experience overall. I'll likely be back here again to try yet another burger from the very diverse selection. Bonus of the evening? No strange guy harassing the female wait staff and causing a disturbance. And no cretins, I'm not strange and I wasn't the one harassing female wait staff. Sigh, I get no respect. read more

This review is mostly for the ribs. Ribs here are outstanding. I took my grandpa here and told him they were some of the best ribs I have ever had (which was a very brave statement to make to my grandpa who is a rib master) and on his first bite he literally said "Oh my god!!!" out loud... he loved them.
