He never even went into our attic to service the entire unit, never checked the filter. We paid another company to come out. Just like many other clients have said Climate Solutions is outstanding! I wish I would've called them before spending money on a new thermostat. My heater was blowing out cold air and I was freezing. I contacted two other companies and they had nothing within weeks. I contacted CS and he came in the next day. It was an air vent that had come undone probably from the roofing guys that worked on my solar panels over the summer. I want to give a shout out to the owner of Climate Solutions. Our AC went out yesterday and when I got home my house was 92 degrees. I called the service that did our last service and they said they could come out on July 30. I called another big company, was told they would call me right back, and didn't hear back from them at all. I then called Climate Control and the owner came out at 9:15 p.m. and fixed my AC. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. It took him about 30 minutes to figure out the problem, fix it and then write up his invoice. We contacted several vendors on yelp (4 stars and above) and some without even looking at our furnace gave us outrageous quotes. Other vendors were okay but didn't ask the questions Kao from Climate Solutions did. To make sure he provided us with a proper quote, Kao even scheduled time to come out again with Balthazar to crawl up into a very tiny space. Balthazar is very flexible I am guessing because my attic is small! Kao provided the quote, scheduled some time and was out here a day or two later. I contacted Climate Solutions because I had issues with my thermostat. Kao came down and inspected our thermostat, and it turns out that it did not need to be replaced. I thought it was broken, but actually, the A/C just kept going back to the default program. He showed us how to bypass the program and explained everything very clearly. Kao showed up on time to our schedule appointment. He was very informative on the reason for the breakdown of the exterior condensor fan was due to a faulty capacitor that caused the breaker switch to fry. He replaced the capacitor and installed a new power cut-off with fuse because that was broken as well. He also replaced the breaker switch at no charge. This guy was great and would recommend his service. It helps when the repair person explains what he is fixing and why. read more

If you are looking for someone who likes to do price games like at the car dealership and is looking to see how much they can get from your pocket and has lack of transparency, Climate solutions and Kao is the perfect match. All the specs of the hvac replacement including photos were sent to him from the beginning, then when he went to job site, he started to raise the numbers way above the range he e-mailed days before (thousands more) for exactly the the same equipment and job. Then when his changes started to be questioned Kao started to come up with excuses and greedy sales techniques. About 2 hours wasted on this, very dishonest and unprofessional, with no word at all, and did not even provided the quote he claimed he has going to provide. Not recommended at all for new installs. 1) Kao's HVAC replacement estimate prior to sending him the parts numbers: "What is your budget you have in mind? Typically these jobs are anywhere between 7-12 K depending on tonnage and efficiency." 2) After clear and detailed HVAC replacement specifications with part numbers etc..were sent to Kao the price range jumped: "I am really tight in schedule right now however if you're looking for a 97% furnace/ 20 seer ac, that's going to push it close to 12-15k. Especially if we are changing the zone board and damper system and converting from an 80% to a 97%. " 3) After Kao went to the job site price range jumped by thousands more, and started to charge again for work that was already included in the job specifications which he used to provide the 12-16k price range. If you want to deal with Kao's dealership like price games, he will be the perfect match. Kao wanted to see the quotes I received (typical of car sales / price games tactics). I told him just an approximate number, about 8 quotes (meaning quotes for repairing existing unit + quotes from hvac brands no longer interested + very few quotes from the brand I want) . Not sure what was his point about the number of quotes. If he were a Yelp user he should know that when a quote request is made via Yelp, yelp allows users to send the same request to multiple contractors at the same time. It is so clear that Kao / Climate Solutions hvac installation replacement prices are way too high, if that's what other yelps users are looking for, Climate Solutions is the perfect match and it will be very costly. read more

I thought we were having an issue with Nest but he explained that our contractor, when he built the new house, didn't use big enough ducts. this is an update on my prior review of Climate Solutions. Kao and his associates have been working with me for over a year to keep my AC running. This is not because of them but because of me. Now that I was ready to move forward with my major repair, Climate Solutions took care of me and my family in a very professional and timely manner. Over the past year, they always replied to my service request on time if not earlier than I requested, knew exactly what I needed to have done and always friendly. On top of that, he always remembered me and my situation/needs. I think that's rare these days, not being treated like a nameless face in a crowd. Having dealt with other HVAC companies and having a personal history of working in contracting, I can tell you Climate Solutions is worth every penny just from a dedication to quality stand point and genuine concern. Even if you can get a lower quote for your job, I'd recommend you consider what value you would place on work ethic, timely communication and service. Then you will no doubt call Kao.
