I get most of my pathology work done at this location which is conveniently located down the hall from my physician. I have recurrent labs that must be done so having a great location & fast results is important. The staff that checks you in and the folks who draw the labs are great. You get in and out quickly and it's painless on my easily overstimulated brain, my veins, and arm. The friendly staff that checks you in is the cherry on top. They always are friendly and smiling. Although they close earlier than other CPL locations, I prefer to come here for the reasons noted in the review and because other locations have lost my tubes, took the wrong labs, and just were unhappy to be working. I have to agree with many who have posted comments regarding front desk rudeness and long wait times even with appts.

I've been dealing with this lab sending my account to collections for a while now. I have health insurance, but if the insurance doesn't pay, instead of sending me a bill, they don't communicate at all and send the account straight to a collection agency. They've sent my name to collections four times already. The first time was for $3 and change, the second for $7 and change, and now there are two more bills I didn't know about; I called because I received a letter stating my insurance details were incorrect, only to discover two more accounts in collections. Plus, the collection agencies themselves don't even send any notification that they're handling the debt--you're left to guess. Their billing service is terrible. I've never had issues with the nurses who collect the blood, but the payment side of things is becoming ridiculous; I call and complain, they confirm my address and say I'll receive the bill, but they never send it. Honestly, I don't understand sending a $3 debt to collections--they must pay the agency far more than that. read more

This place is truly the worst of all the labs in the Austin area. The wait is hours long no matter the day or time. The front desk women couldn't be more rude if they tried. They all like to chit chat with eachother than actually working and getting people through. Highly suggest ANY other CPL location. read more

Arrived right when they opened and was able to be helped within maybe 20 minutes. Everyone was very friendly, they had music playing and it was great! I love when offices aren't dead silent- that music definitely made the experience better. We had to have an incredible amount of blood work done. Tiffany had everything ready and organized, she found the vein quicker than anybody else we've experienced before. She was super quick, organized, effective, and made great conversation! Tiffany was also training another employee during the process but it didn't slow her down or cause any impediment. This has got to be the worst location with the most inept leadership and training, they can't figure out the correct amount of blood to draw so they have you come back the same day and it's such an inconvenience. Poor training. read more

They never get the right labs done! Even if I take the orders, they screw it up. Usually more than one trip to get the correct labs. **They are horrible about billing. They don't get the right codes and then they won't resubmit blaming on the doctor and/or insurance. If you have another option, use it. read more

CPL has been so kind to me. The lady who drew my blood was an excellent technician. They are very accommodating with my electric mobility scooter. Yes. Sometimes the waiting room is packed, but what can they do about that? I was fortunate to go when they only had a few people ahead of me this time. read more

The wait is always long. I have to go every 6 weeks for a blood draw because of my Thyroid. They open at 7 and literally a line is forming at 6:40. They also have a huge turnover of employees. The last time I went the tech must have not had good training. My arm had a bruise on it for over a week. read more

Horrible, inefficient service at the Wyoming Springs, Round Rock TX CPL. Went there for a blood test to determine IBS or IBD, They needed 2 vials of blood. First time they took the 2 vials, sealed them and put them in the container. That was on a Friday. Got a call on Wed that one of the vials was not done correctly so I need to go back. He said he would tell them I was coming. Left work early only to discover that they close at 4:00. Went back on Thursday and they did not know why I was there. Took her a while and several phone calls to figure out what they needed to do. She took one vial and promised she would "spin it" and handle it correctly. They say this test takes 5-7 days for results. On day 8 I got a call from the doctor's office that the blood work was insufficient because there was only one vial and they needed the "whole blood." The idiots at the Wyoming Springs office did not send in the first vial with the second or did not communicate that there was a first vial already sent. I do not recommend that you trust your health to the staff in that office. read more

This location REALLY needs to increase the number of employees working per shift. I arrived at 7am today and did not leave until almost 8:45am. They had ONE person actually drawing blood, ONE person stapling papers and trying to look busy, and ONE person at the computer checking people in. I used to love this location, but it's honestly gotten worse every single time I come. With the 3 draw rooms and 3 (maybe 4) computers, there is no reason they should be that understaffed, especially for a place that does not take appointments. read more

A test I had done in my doctor's office in September was sent to CPL incorrectly coded. I have been working with my doctor's billing department rep monthly since January to get a $20 balance resolved. She has communicated with her contact at CPL each month and has been assured repeatedly that the matter has been resolved. She even paid the bill on my behalf. Today I got a notice that the $20 balance has been sent to collections. I am beyond angry. Since CPL obviously cannot get its act together, I am sending them $20. I will not forget this screw up though. read more

I went to do the blood test yesterday. I was there 15 mins early as advice (my appointment was 9:30am), signed in on the screen when I got there, finished check in showing my ID and insurance. I waited for about 20mins, finished drawing blood and walked out @10am. They lady who did my blood drawing was nice too, she made sure I felt ok during the process. The whole thing was pretty smooth and quick as expected. Easy online appointment, easy check in, not much wait, and nice workers. I will come back again if I ever need any blood work done in the future. read more

the CPL location off Gattis School Road in Round Rock is not handicap friendly. parking is on other side of building. door to enter office is very difficult to open. chair I as seated in to take my blood was too high. I'm going to find another lab or another location. read more

Horrible experience with my child. I arrived around 4pm to get my sons blood drawn. He's 3. We signed in and it was at least 45 to an hour before we were called up to go over paperwork. Once we were called back a practicing student and a very unprofessional girl with green hair were talking about how tired they were and wanted to go home and were just done... let me be clear...the student was ok just making conversation.... the green haired girl... very negative, making jokes and wasnt paying attention at all and was more concerned with going home.... They tried to draw blood on my son. The student didn't even have the vial ready so his blood just poured out everywhere and then because they weren't paying attention he moved, like any crying child would and blew his vein. I was told I'd have to come back to get it redrawn by someone who is more experienced with children...... we had no choice he's getting surgery we needed this done ASAP. At this point I'm angry, I'm crying for my son, he has to go thru this crap again because of an immature employee who had better things to do than their job. We returned Monday ready to expect anything at this point... to my surprise I told the girl behind the counter my experience and she assured me it won't happen again. This girl completely turned it around. She got assistance from the blonde girl in the front (I'm sorry i don't know your name) and they were able to get my son within 30 seconds and he didn't even cry. They also confirmed the previous people were running the wrong vials on my son from the get go. Thank you Alexa you changed the whole experience for us and to the sweet blond girl. I dreaded going back here and honestly knowing that a person so unprofessional works there will keep me far away from this location. read more

It's not what she said, but the way she said it that I found objectionable. However, the phlebotomist, Tiffany, couldn't have been nicer. 1/2 STAR for the CPL located on Wyoming Springs in Round Rock. We made our SECOND trip there this morning for blood tests prior to our annual physicals ... NO LUCK ... We arrived yesterday afternoon, 5/12 at 2:50 PM and were denied entry and told they were closed ... website said 7AM to 5PM, notice on the door said 7AM - 3PM ... guess they wanted to leave early. Today, 5/13, arrived about 9:15AM and there was no way to check in. We were told to take a seat and they would be with us. Several folks came in after we arrived and they were told to stand in line for check in ... Reminded me of the old story ... "who is on first" ... POOR - POOR - POOR - service. I understand this virus thing has changed things, BUT, not using common sense ... read more

I must have gotten really lucky but I'm grateful that everything went really well. I needed blood work done on a Saturday and this was the closest location to me. The bad reviews made me nervous, but I really didn't want to take time off of work to go on a weekday, so I took a chance. I called ahead to ask about the wait and was told 30 minutes. When I arrived at 11:15 or so, I expected longer weight, but there was no one in the waiting room. The check in was pretty quick. The staff at check-in were chatting amongst themselves but they acknowledged me. I was taken in about 10-15 minutes later. The phlebotomist (Tran) was amazing. My veins can be tricky at times, and it wasn't cooperating at first, but she was gentle and patient and with a few tweaks got it to flow. Did an amazing job (I needed like 10 vials drawn and she didn't have to poke me again). I was out of there by 11:34. read more

I never thought I'd review a lab but I feel the need to do it. I've talked to a couple nurse friends after my experience and they were shocked. I've never fainted during a lab draw but I have felt queasy. When my phlebotomist told me she'd need 8 vials of blood, I said I felt faint. Since I had never actually done it, she said I was fine and proceeded. Somewhere around vial 4, I proclaimed my intent to faint again. Somewhere around vial 6, things got fuzzy. Someone else came in and put rubbing alcohol under my nose and said I was turning green. At no point was the needle taken out of my arm. I was just told we were almost done. Then I fainted. I came to and had a bandage on my arm and was told they got all the blood. They walked me to a bed and laid me down flat. Luckily I had candy and water in my car. None was offered. Don't medical offices always have juice on hand for these situations? Nobody put my legs up. I don't feel like these employees were trained about how to treat a patient that faints. They did tell me it happens every day though so why they are untrained is beyond me. Clearly I won't go back and I'd suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I had a good experience. After a very long frustrating wait at the Links Lane location, I gave up and drove across town to this location. There was still a wait here, but not as bad. Most importantly, the waiting room was clean and comfortable and the staff was pleasant and friendly. Not so at the Links Lane location. Plus the phlebotomist did a great job. read more

This place is unbelievable. The only lab close to Round Rock hospital and the are unable to maintain consistency with technicians. ALWAYS a long wait. Changed their location to another suite, which could have been a good thing; however they have less seating than at the previous location and an unbelievably longer wait. I can't quite calculate what their customer service model is, but know it is poor. When I arrived at 7:20am this morning, people were already lining the hallway in front of the suite as there were no more seats or standing room. I feel for the workers as they are the front line on dealing with this. It is quite possibly why there is no consistency with staff. Most people, when obtaining lab work are stressed...add the poor customer service modeled by CPL and you have a recipe for upset customers. Shame on them! read more

Horrible experience...when you're dealing with health issues the last thing you wanna deal with is rude ignorant people who's far from being able to provide a decent service. I realize that it is an industry that doesn't pay well but people if you don't have your heart in serving people with health issues you can work in retail or fast food industry also. In and out burgers pay 12 bucks an hour but I have sneaking suspicion you won't make it there either because of attitude problems. I wish there were more labs in the area. Unfortunately I keep going back for more abuse to these labs due to lack of competition. Don't give them your money or business if you can help it. Atmosphere reminds me of the worst form of social medicine...and you pay for it. read more

I am so fed up with this location, this is the first review I've ever posted on Yelp. I've been to this location probably 7-8 times over the past several months, and many more times over the last few years. They moved to a new office in the same building, and since they moved they have completely gone downhill. They used to call you up within 10-15 minutes of when you checked in to go over your paperwork, and then you'd have to wait a bit longer until they were ready to draw your blood. To be honest it could take up to 45 minutes or an hour, but they had plenty of seats in the waiting room, and I had cell service so as long as you expected to wait it wasn't too bad. Now they don't verify your paperwork until they're almost ready to draw your blood, so you can't leave the room or you risk losing your place in line. Not so bad if it's only 15 minutes, but the average recently has been over an hour. Last time I stood for an hour and a half because there were no chairs available before they called me up just to look at my paperwork & then I had to wait about 20 minutes more after that to get my blood drawn, so I started going to a different location that is farther away from me. Today I just had a sample to drop off so I took a chance and went to this Wyoming Springs location thinking it wouldn't be so bad to just drop off (it's only 5 minutes from my house). It STILL took them 50 minutes to call me up to even check my paperwork, and that was with only about 8 people in the room when I arrived at 1:45! While I was waiting, they called someone else up who had been waiting just as long & this poor person discovered that the Dr. wanted them to be fasting & they weren't. So they had to wait all that time just to find out that they had to come back another day. Ridiculous! Even restaurants have systems now where you can enter your cell number and they'll text you when they are ready for you. At least if they had this you could find a seat in the hallway and not have to stand for over an hour. They should also be able to go over your paperwork with you within 10 minutes of you checking in, so you know if you'll be able to get your tests done & about how long the wait will be. And good grief, if you're just dropping off a specimen, you should be able to do that within 15 minutes. It will be a cold day you-know-where before I go back to this location for anything. I'd rather make the half-hour round trip to go to Cedar Park. read more

If I could leave "0" stars, I would. This place is horrible. They are lazy and rude. They have no concept of- or priority on - customer service. They treat you like they are doing YOU some sort of favor for what you are PAYING them to do. This morning I had something frozen to DROP OFF. I never go to this location for lab work anymore, which is a shame because I live right around the corner. But I thought I'd be safe just doing a drop off. Ha! No, they have me sign in. The ONE customer there actually getting a draw leaves right as I sit down. There are only three other people there, all waiting to go back for draws. There are THREE CPL employees sitting at the computers at the front desk. No one is in the back getting blood drawn, I saw two phlebotomists with nothing to do. They kept peeking around to the front to see what was going on. After 10 minutes of sitting while this went on, still with NO ONE being called back for their draw, I asked again if I could just drop off. I was told to sit and wait, that it would "be a few minutes". No apologies, just again with the attitude that "we will get to you when we feel like it". After waiting another 10 minutes, with still 3 employees sitting at computers at the front desk (and not calling up ANYONE waiting for more information, etc.) and two phlebotomists doing nothing in the back, I ask again if I can just do my drop off. Again, I was refused and told "all three of us are working and whan it's your turn in line, we will call you." I left and drove to the CPL near the North Austin Medical Center. I walked in, signed in, they took my drop off immediately, and I walked out of the building. Took less than five minutes. read more
