One of the worst experiences I have ever seen, I got a flat tire and th m because I don't have a jack at the time, he charged me 50 dollar for just changing the spare tire. And when I went there at his shop he asked me for 270 for the new tire and I got frustrated and I called another shop and they asked me for only 160 read more

They answered my call and gave my step by step instructions on what I should do (this was my first accident). I brought my car in and was welcomed by the staff and they ensured me they would take care of my car as soon as possible and even how to handle insurance. Throughout the week while I was waiting for my car I actually got a call from them just to let me know they are working on my car and that the car would be ready by the pick up date. Its difficult to find an honest mechanic who does good work, and won't do things to your car that you don't need. Now I drive from Manhattan any time I need auto repairs. These guys are great. I bring my car to them often, thanks to several fender benders this past year, and they do great work both on the cosmetic and mechanical sides. And they deal with insurance directly when you need them to; I was able to remove myself from that equation and they took care of things themselves, which was a nice relief. They're very responsive and quick to help, and very nice people, as well. Found this place through a review on yahoo as my old mechanic closed. Needed an inspection and my taillight and break light was out. Owner invited me into the office saying it is cold, get warm. We had a nice conversation about his business and how many gas stations and mechanics are closing. I was done in 20 minutes and they charged me for the inspection and a couple of bucks for new light bulbs. Have been to other shops where I am sure they would have told me I needed some kinda real repair for the tail and break light instead of just a replacement bulb. These guys are so nice. I live about 10 blocks away. My battery died, and in a panic I called the nearest shop that was open. They showed up within 10 mins and jumped it for me for no charge. I was about to get on the road for a long trip and was nervous it would happen again, so the guy had me follow him to the shop to test it again and make sure it was charging. I've used 2 other auto repair places in Brooklyn and never felt sure how much I trusted them. Will definitely be taking my lemon car here throughout the last legs of its life! read more

Just got my car back from being fixed here and had to post a glowing review. From start to finish the guys at Clinton Auto Collision have been amazing. As someone who didn't have a clue how the whole insurance claim process worked in the States, they were extremely patient with my stressed out questions! Very friendly staff and super helpful, good communication from the boss as to when the inspection was being done by my insurance company along with when the car was ready to be picked up. I even left my booster seat there today by mistake and he called to let me know. My car looks like brand new, they even cleaned it. I was glad to find this VW and European car repair shop near to me and a BikeShare station. They helped me when I needed some needed repairs to my aging, but already-well-maintained VW Passat wagon. They were able to replace my power steering rack. They also changed my oil with me insisting on they use the special VW502 spec 5w40 oil and filter that I brought, and attended to a few other things. While on the lift, they checked other safety items, and they noticed that I needed new transmission mounts, which I approved before I took back my car. However, I think they anticipated I would OK this, but not the Chinese-made parts which they pre-procured in anticipation of my OK. I told them I wanted German OEM or equivalent parts -- so on a Saturday they got the right parts for me, and apologized. They also did something incredibly nice for me as a new customer, the details of which I will not share (because all of you would be asking them to "hey, do that nice thing for me that you did for JohnnyHowell"). It is weird that I look forward to taking my car in for service to folks that communicate well, price work fairly, and do a very good job. read more
