Not a bad place to eat, but really got ripped off on my greek salad. Ordered a large with gyro meat--$4.99 upcharge for the meat, which is steep, but usually diners put a generous portion on, in the form of thick cuts, so I thought I could justify the splurge. It actually came with what looked like a couple of chopped slices of lunchmeat. Ended up paying what I would for a larger, meatier salad at a more upscale place. My wife ordered the chicken finger wrap which she really liked. It was large, well stuffed with meat, in a thin wrap that still held together well. Very tasty, she said. My only complaint is that they are not open longer hours! I love this place so much! Nice location right off main street in Clinton. The service is great and the food is fast and super fresh! I'm within walking distance, which makes for a nice spot for lunch or breakfast. We have dined in and ordered carry-out, both experiences were wonderful. We had the greatest experience here! My daughter is extremely picky and she has recently began to try new things. She opted for a burger which she normally hates but wanted to be brave. She loved her burger and the fries and the waitress made sure she had lots of pickles too. She even text her grandma about how it's the best burger and fries she has EVER had. Our waitress saw she had left over pickles and asked if she wanted to take those with her. Daughter had been so worried she would just take them so she was guarding them a little and the waitress was very kind and noticed. I wish I would have caught her name. The food is good, but there are some serious setbacks. Service was pretty slow for there only being a few people in the restaurant, the waitress never asked to refill our drinks The food that we ordered didn't come with sides, unlike how many competing restaurants in the area (chicken tenders and Buffalo chicken wrap) - you have to pay extra for fries. It IS nice to have another place to eat in Clinton. I would like this place a lot more if they implemented the following: - a better description of the coney supreme - it sits right near all the other hot dogs. There is ground beef, chili, cheese, etc - but no hot dog! It would have been nice had it been more clear. When I go to a coney place - I want a hot dog! - better gyro meat. Mine was dry and tasteless. It was really quite unimpressive. - less dry chicken for the chicken gyro. I was totally bummed out about that. - fries cooked a little more well done. I know, make up my mind, right? - a greek salad with romaine instead of iceberg. Iceberg - ugh. Overall, the place has pretty good service and they are also fairly fast. It's got a great location and enough parking. But, there are some things that they could improve for sure. I'll give them one more chance... but Clinton Inn is still tops for the money. Picked up takeout today and the customer ahead of me was not wearing a mask. The waitress had hers pulled down below her nose and the person cooking had no mask at all. I got a dirty look from the waitress when I said I would wait to finish my transaction until the customer ahead of me had a mask. I find the Clinton Coney Island to be the most complete place to eat in Clinton. Open for breakfast everyday at 7am. You can get breakfast all day, which is fantastic. They have daily lunch specials. They have daily dinner specials. Everyday they have 2 soups and they rotate. They have great pies too and milkshakes. The staff is friendly and prices are good. Monday through Friday they are open til 9pm and close at 3pm Sat and Sun. Their gyros are great, Greek salads, coney dogs, pancakes, frenchtoast, double cheeseburger, chili cheesefries. read more

They have been loyal patrons and over tippers for I don't know eight years every single Sunday after church; however, I am vehemently give this place a one star for very good reasons. One I have a really impressive service industry resume as well as a software for engineer resume. I have worked in DC New York south Africa during the World Cup and London. Staff makes you feel like family, Management are awesome, yet to see place dirty, coffee could be stronger however it is ground as it is made, as for food it's better then any coney I've been to. Great place to meet local people, bathroom is clean. And would recommend this a definite stop. Clinton is also home of the Fall Festival. I might add the prices won't break your wallet. If this was a suit and tie eatery it would be rated a five. The only thing I didn't like was the corn beef however I don't think my opinion counts here because I like it prepared different. First of all I need to say this is the last kind of review I wanted to write especially for a new business what with the economy today. Service was low quality, our waitress did not know the menu, and also spoke so softly we could not understand her, when we requested an item near the end of our meal she completely just forgot about us which was pretty much the last nail in the coffin. Food quality was low to sub par, all of the items we ate could of been prepared at home to a higher quality, fries were nothing special, chili was low grade, the Greek salad was sadly far from famous and again something that could easily be made at home with a higher quality. The biggest disappointment was the menu... For a place named "Coney Island" you expect a plethora of hot dog choices, unfortunately there is only one dog with four unimpressive versions. In my opinion how this business can improve would be to stress customer service to their staff, improve and add more to their hot dog menu, any resteraunt/diner with Coney Island in the title should specialize and market their hot dogs. I don't believe these improvements would make me rate this diner 5 stars but it would be a start. Overall I wish Coney Island in Clinton the best of luck in the future I will go back in a year or so and I'll expect great things. read more

The food is very good but prices are very high for breakfast. When was the last time you spent 20 for two omelettes with hash browns at a Coney Island? Have never had to pay almost 3 dollars for onions in the omelette at most other places. True we ordered egg beaters at an additional cost but 20 dollars for breakfast? I've ate at the Clinton Coney many times and have yet to be disappointed. I've enjoyed the breakfasts; the pancakes & home fries are awesome. The lunch and dinner specials are great. The homemade meatloaf, the hamburgers and the coney dogs are the best. Make sure to leave room for dessert-the home made rice pudding is one of a kind and the apple pie & cheese cake are a delight! I have been excited to try the new coney island in Clinton since it opened since the drive would be shorter than to Adrian or Ann Arbor. Unfortunately, I will have to continue to drive to Adrian and Ann Arbor for quality food and friendly service. I only gave it one star because I couldn't submit my review with none selected. I ordered the greek salad with gyro meat which consisted of about 2 cups of very wet iceberg lettuce with exactly 1 piece of beet, 2 olives, 2 small, shriveled tomatoes, 1 piece of cucumber, a sprinkling of feta cheese, and dry, diced up meat.. I picked the smaller salad because the waitress told me the large was very big. Quite a while later after I was finished with the salad, the waitress asked us if we wanted anything else - never asked us if everything was okay. I told her that I was surprised that the salad didn't come with pita bread to which she replied that most people ask for some. When I asked her if there was an extra cost for it she said $1.19 (?) but it was free with the large (note: the large is about $2.00 more). I then told her that I have never eaten at a coney island and left hungry before to which she turned and walked away. Poor customer service. When my friend and I went to pay our bill, the lady at the register never asked how the meal was (we think she was "tipped off" by the other lady), but had no problem telling us how much we owed. I then told her the same thing I told the other waitress to which she starting "twitching" her mouth and never looked at me or said a word. I then mentioned that I would not be spending my hard-earned money there again (my meal was $6). The only thing she said when she handed back change was "have a nice day". How absurd! My friend and I then conducted our own little experiment. We went to Taco Bell on Michigan Ave., in Saline and ordered a couple of items but altered some of the ingredients. Not a problem - even cost the same as the original way. We also told them we were over 55 - we were offered "senior drinks" at no charge. We were served with smiles and they weren't even working for a tip! I have also been to the Country Skillet across from the new McDonald's in Adrian several times. We have asked for extra feta and olives on the greek salad and have never been charged extra or disappointed in the service...and it comes with grilled pita bread at no extra charge! Uptown Coney Island is just as good at both the Chelse and Ann Arbor locations. Clinton should study these other restaurants to see what a real coney island is and how the staff should make sure the customers don't leave unhappy! read more
