Beware, you've been forewarned this place is the biggest rip-off I've seen in years. I took my daughter faux leather jacket which she purchased at a thrift store for $10 in to Cloud 9 to be cleaned. They did not tell me the cost, but gave me the bogus story that it had to be cleaned just like leather. When I returned to pick it up they charged me $56.00 dollars. I then took the second almost identical faux leather jacket she purchased to another cleaner in Tustin, down the block and they charged me $4.00. That's right $4.00 dollars. Cloud 9 incidentally charged me $6.95 for the one white men's dress shirt I'd also brought in. Up charging me as though it was a woman's blouse and when I took the small shirt into the new dry cleaners they charged me $2.00. I found Cloud 9 to just gouge people for all they can get. Anyone who goes there, if they do their homework, will realize what a rip-off this place is. P.S. I am intentionally not providing the name of my new dry cleaner because I don't want anyone to feel I am writing this to enhance their business. If you are looking to be spoken down to, by the owner no less, or be schooled on the art of dry cleaning, then this is the place to go. I have been going to Cloud9 for several years but dealt mostly with staff members who are usually friendly and that's until I had to deal with the owner. I had an item get compromised during the dry cleaning process and when asked them to fix it I was given a hard time and told that the shirt was cheaply made! The owner went on to tell me how he used the best ingredients and that he spared no cost. Yet, they were not willing to spend 10 bucks to fix a shirt, that they damaged, for a customer that has been going there for years!! They ended up agreeing to fix the shirt but made sure to let me know that this will never happen again. I felt like a schoolchild being reprimanded. No ironed in creases, no collars ironed askew, the cuffs presses correctly. Cloud 9 is as good at this as any place I've been. Everything is always pressed perfectly. In addition, the attention they give to the individual garment for how to clean, special care needed, and communicating with you about any concerns for the proper care of your piece. I just paid $6.20 for one shirt to be dry cleaned (likely because it is a woman's dress shirt as opposed to a men's shirt). It doesn't look like anything special but what an outrageous price for one piece of clothing. Quality is normal dry cleaning but don't need to go back for those prices. read more

So I just called them to ask about their prices and this was their response: "We are about half the price of nearby dry cleaners. Where do you usually go to get your clothes dry cleaned? I can get a better idea of what the pricing may be." Do your prices vary depending on where I take my clothes? Do you price match with your competitors and give us the lowest rate? (Probably not judging by the four "$" marked on your Yelp page.) Why can't you give me a definitive answer? You started saying it might be $2.75 for a laundry shirt, then "it might go up to $2.95."?? If I brought my Armani shirt, are you going to up-charge me? Word to the wise, do not give attitude to someone who is about to bring you business. I asked nicely and you slashed back with "I'm short-staffed today I need to cut this short," and hanging up on a potential customer is not the best way to upkeep your image. Whoever worked today and picked up the phone, you need to get your head out of that dark crevice and handle things more appropriately. Gotta love they are organic and don't use harsh chemicals. I have sensitive skin so I don't like chemicals on my clothing. They do the best job with work uniforms than any other cleaners Ive been to. Thought I'd try this location despite a few bad reviews. The guy asked me my phone number about 3 times. Couldn't get it right. Then told me not to give him my area code. Had to ask again a couple times. When he still couldn't get it, I told him I was a New Customer. He said, "you should have told me that!" I said he should have asked. Asked for my number again. Finally we were on to my name. I clearly said "Ken", and spelled "K-e-n". Nope, asked me again. So I raised my voice. He just mumbled "I'm not going to help you". Went on to the next Customer. I live in Tustin about five minutes from here. It is the dry cleaning next to Trader Joe's on Newport and Irvine. I never came here because I knew it was very expensive. I needed to go to a cleaners last minute and didn't care how much I had to pay so I took a couple shirts here. I was told that each shirt is $5 to dry clean. I was dumfounded how expensive it was. I usually get my shirts done for $1.99 or $2.50. While I was waiting in line to pick up my shirts I struck up conversation with the person that was standing in front of me. He was agreeing with me on how expensive it was. I was telling him the dry cleaner I usually go to charges a lot less. Within 30 mins of leaving the cleaners I received a voicemail from the owner of Cloud 9 that I have never even seen or spoken to. He left me a message accusing me of coming into his store and trying to convince his customers to go to another dry cleaner. He said "I dont appreciate you coming into my store and telling customers about other peoples prices". I called him back and he said "you have no right to come in my store and talk about other dry cleaning services". I told him that I have freedom of speech and it was a personal conversation I was having with someone else. I told him it was ridiculous that he was calling me andI would never go back to his store and he told me that I would be doing him a favor by not coming to his establishment. I am so dumfounded by all this. He took my number and called me without consent just to disrespect me. I cannot believe this place is still in business. The owner is so unprofessional and rude and I encourage everyone to take their business elsewhere. Actually, there is a great dry cleaner off of Jamboree and Irvine Blvd next to Ralph's that charges half the price, does better work, and has nice employees. This is an excellent drycleaner for high-end labels. My parents live in the area, so when I visit I usually bring along some of my couture pieces to Cloud 9. They have done an excellent job on my St. John suits. Ladies who own high-end labels know how hard it is to find drycleaners who know the special care these garments need. I agree with the other reviews to the extent that if you have casual clothing that doesn't require special handling, the price could seem high compared to others around town. BUT if you have classic, quality pieces that you intend to keep looking fresh and new for many years, this is the place to bring them. I know for a fact that their prices are very, very reasonable and they charge me the same whether it's a $150 Ann Klein suit, or a $1500 St John set. The only time they have charged more is when the piece needs special care, like intricate lace and beading, which I love. I have never had any problems with the staff or the owner. He is always friendly and I llke that he is very knowledgeable about high-end fabrics and what needs to be done to clean them right. I have also noticed that the drycleaning done at Cloud 9 doesn't have an annoying chemcial smell that I need to air out even if it hangs in the closet for months before I wear it again. This was a problem for me when I tried some of the low cost cleaners around town with my casual wear. I noticed that if I don't wear the piece within a week or so, there would be a stale smell and the fabric loses the softness that was there when I first brought it home. I am very happy with Cloud 9 and would definitely recommend them to my friends. read more

We used this cleaner for over 5 years. During that time, they've ruined 3 different shirts. The first time the owner said the rip was likely due to age of material (it was fairly new, but whatever). The second time the shirt had two matching tears in the arms, clearly from a machine. I didn't bring it to their attention as the shirt wasn't all that expensive and it was in May 2020 (middle of covid and I felt bad for a small business owner). This final time I brought it to his attention and he said "that couldn't have been my shop". Now, at this point, I'm getting frustrated that this man never takes ownership for anything. I said it absolutely was from their cleaner. He preceded to look up my account history over the past year and tell me that the $300 I've spent in the last 12 months is nothing compared to his other clients, so he won't miss the business. WHAT? Never again will I go there and I highly advise others to not as well. Worst customer service ever. Zero empathy for a frustrated customer, told me I was lying and my business isn't worth it. read more

My parents have been using these cleaners for years now. They have a delivery service which is incredibly convenient, I just went on here to review them and was SHOCKED by how few ratings they had a few negative responses gives this business such a bad name that it does not deserve! I took my wedding dress here right before my wedding and they went above and beyond to help me out and clean it then bring it to my parents' house... i am so incredibly impressed with the service! Quick facts: I just discovered MULTIPLE ITEMS hanging in my closet for MONTHS WERE NOT ACTUALLY CLEANED BY CLOUD 9!! After paying $$$ for services, they handed back dirty clothes appearing to have been serviced, hanging on their hangers & covered in plastic!! **Longer story: I took a number of dresses, a blazer, & 2 vintage faux fur & corduroy coats (I had just purchased) here about 6 months back. I simply haven't had an opportunity to wear one single item to date. I just started taking off the clear plastic off everything today after learning one shouldn't store clothing that way. I was horrified to just discover after paying Cloud 9 Cleaners a hefty bill to clean & press the specialty bundle of clothing, nothing was actually cleaned!! See pix. My Roberto Cavalli dress is still covered in make up and dog hair. (I wore that dress in February!) How could something that obvious be missed & put on a fresh hanger??!? One vintage coat had a "note to customer" attached to hanger about needing to contact me about performing "wet cleaning" & repairing a pocket --which was still torn to pieces. No one spoke a word to me about this. Quite obviously it hasn't been cleaned/repaired. Frankly it wouldn't shock me to know I paid additional cost. All of this, unbeknownst to me, hanging this way in my closet for the next time I go to wear it!!!!! Make up stains should be removed promptly. I just hope there's not permanent damage. I've definitely dealt with a few hiccups with this place in the past & I've never really done back flips over their customer service, the girl there always seems to be in a mood, but after spending $100 and getting back torn & filthy clothing?!!?!! There are so many dry cleaners to choose from and I am so happy I found this one! This place was conveniently located near my grocery store so it made it that much easier. I have been coming here for many years and they never disappoint! Everything is returned perfectly laundered and the owner John, is very nice. A couple times he has phoned me advising me what needed to be done. I never questioned him since he always knew best! He also suggested the delivery service they offer. I wasn't sure in the beginning but it works out perfectly? !! At no additional charge, you leave out a bag for pick up he supplies you with and your garments are picked up AND dropped off in a timely manner!! I started using Cloud 9 after seeing my neighbor have her dry cleaning picked up and delivered at home. I've been dragging dry cleaning to and from the cleaners for decades. The service is so well done, and worth the slightly higher prices. The care that Cloud 9 takes in their work is clear. Tissue is used to bolster sleeves that would otherwise wrinkle hanging in a plastic bag. A call comes in from John, the owner, whenever there is a question on particular garments, to make sure that he gives exactly the service you want. Cloud 9 cleaned all of the wedding party gowns for my daughter's wedding, and did an amazing job on the speciality fabrics and finishes... including fragile beading. I trusted Cloud 9 with my daughter's wedding ensemble, which arrived perfectly cleaned and boxed even after a muddy rainy wedding day, which left the dress's hemline very soiled. Oh!!! Got mold?
