Wow!! I was a little skeptical at first but I am so glad I decided to go out of my work come down to Cloud Naan. First thing you will notice is the amazing decor. You feel like you just stepped in to a Bollywood movie with all the bright colors screaming to get your attention. This is a modern Indian restaurant so go straight to the kiosk and put in your order before you find a seat. The chicken tikka is well seasoned with a lot of spices, and a kick of spiciness so be aware (not for small children). The chicken is perfectly grilled but still retains all the juices and seasoning deap within. Definitely a must try. The butter chicken curry was also super delicious with a creamy thick curry sauce that just coats each individual grain of rice and naan you introduce to it. Definitely get a side of basmatti rice (enough for 3-4) and get the garlic naan that's freshly baked. The prices are high but keep in kind each dish is enough for 3-4 people and definitely something to share. They have lunch specials as well so definitely give them a try if you need that Indian food fix. I will definitely be back to try their other menu items. read more

We decided to visit this restaurant after seeing it on Instagram. I'm always down for good desi food, so I figured why not give it a try! It's a self-order setup using a tablet, and drinks are also self-serve (which we found out mid-meal). When we got there, it wasn't busy -- just two other tables. Our food came out in about 20 minutes. As we were eating, it started getting busier, and only one person. Other one must've clocked out or when on lunch. Overall, the food was okay -- definitely adjusted to the American palate. For my fellow desis, just know it's not what we'd consider spicy. Not bad, but definitely some hit-or-miss items. Here's what we ordered and my ratings out of 5: * Complimentary Chai & Chips - N/AI read reviews saying they give complimentary chai and fried chips, but we weren't offered any. It seemed like only certain tables got it, which was kind of disappointing. At the end, I asked if we could buy some chai. Tried out this restaurant for the first time today, it was AMAZING! The food was perfection, we ordered butter chicken, basmati rice, and garlic + jalapeño cheese naan it was all super delicious! I didn't get the chance to compliment their whole team on the name of this establishment, but I really think "Cloud Naan" is clever, and the food is nothing short of decadent--shooting your taste buds straight up into the atmosphere. Located in Carson, on a quiet, dim street--you walk into a beautiful, serene establishment bursting with colors and patterns of the culture. As an LA native, I'm warmed and spoiled in many ways to be able to be traversed into an atmosphere that feels like someone else's home, built here in Los Angeles for us to dine in. In regard to the food, 5 stars. I had the butter chicken with naan, a mango lassi to-go, and the owner was kind enough to send me off with their in-house chai. Butter chicken - $24 - Made fresh, comes out piping hot--bright, fragrant, elegant, and luxuriously rich and smooth. Worth every penny. It's one of those experiences where, upon laying your eyes on it, you get the sense that you've made the right choice. Naan - $6 - Also made fresh--flaky, soft, garlicky. I would love to see if they end up having a roti option, as I was informed this is also a great selection to pair with butter chicken. The naan was warm and came out in a large portion. Presentation - Gorgeous--served in a pot, the name of which I'm unsure, but it solves the problem of worrying about your butter chicken becoming cool and possibly changing texture upon losing temperature, considering its rich, soup-like texture. Whether that was innovation or tradition, I'm not sure, but I was happy to be presented the food in this very thoughtful way. Mango lassi - I didn't try this until I got home and popped it in the fridge for a little while, considering I made the trip from the Sawtelle area. It was amazing--strong, pungent, powerful, tart, and sweet. The flavor lingers in a way that drives you to finish it, and there are no weird solvents or odd textures left in your mouth afterward. Felt real. House chai - Complimentary. I didn't have time to order the whole pot, considering I was on my way out and had to head back home--but if you sit down there and order, you get a whole pot for $8 to share, which I feel is awesome. From what I tasted, it was strong, smooth, clean, and quite tasty. I got it without sugar, and you still get that sweet taste and balance. I want to say thank you to everyone working because they instantly made me feel welcomed. Full disclosure up front. We are very close friends with the owner. This was my mom.and I visiting for the first time. We were able to sample a number of dishes. The portions in the photo do not represent what you get when ordering from the menu. We tried the following samosa, chapli kabob, paratha, green chicken, tandoori chicken, malai boti chicken, chicken karhai, goat karhai, biryani, chai, namak para and malai kulfi. My mom ate more today that I have seen her eat in a long time. She ate more than I did and that rarely happens. The food is well prepared. The quality of the ingredients was visible. The chicken dishes were mostly if not all white meat. Everything was well seasoned though not high in peppery heat. The red chutney on the side allowed us to add more heat when desired. The decor is very playful and casual. Seating is unconventional for an Pakistani/Indian restaurant. Mostly picnic style tables with benches and low tables with stools. Can't speak to the portions and value since we were not paying guests. My mom really liked both karhai dishes. I liked the namak para, chapli kabab, tandoori chicken and malai boti. I just had my first time going here with the wife. Definitely would recommend and plan to go back at some time. Too be honest we where not sure about the sizes so ordered too much but don't regret it. Wife loved the puri and naan. While I enjoyed those what I would recommend the beef haleem stew. I much prefer the human interaction that comes with ordering from a person. The prices felt high relative to the quality. Both our main plates were full of flavour and fragrant with spices ! Everything was so fresh and cooked to order ! Chai tea was such a nice addition to our lunch! Service was so good and kind. I thought I did order the rice (which I did not) but the kitchen staff did offer me a bowl of rice free of charge ! So nice and kind people !
