I finally used my gift certificate from Mother's Day, and my experience was excellent. Best facial I have ever had, by far. Laurie listened to my concerns and provided a custom facial and two days later my skin is still gorgeous! I have been going to this place for over 10+ years. They just got new staff and the quality of service has dropped significantly. I decided to pre-book my appointments with Monica who is wonderful and has worked so hard to develop her client base. Strangely got a call from them yesterday stating that all my pre-book appointments will be cancelled and Monica is not accepting new clients anymore. They literally were forcing me to go with the new girls, whom I've used before and had to keep going back to get the services re-done. Management should support good esthetician and not force their client base to new folks. Today was my first time at CloudMover Day Spa and I will definitely be back. I have gotten many facials over the years, from Burke Williams to the spa at the Montage, and this one was by far the best facial I've ever had. I received a custom facial with Carly and in just one hour my skin has already cleared up so much. I am very self conscious about my skin. I have combination skin and I struggle with adult acne and Carly knew exactly what to do. My skin is glowing, it's literally a night and day difference, I am so happy with my results. I made two appointments on a Sunday afternoon. I had a prenatal and my friend a Swedish. My massage therapist was 15 minutes late. I asked the receptionist twice and she was frankly rude about it. I can understand 5 but 15? She said, don't worry you'll get your hour. I'm not worried about my hour, people have plans on Sunday and I can't be waiting around for a massage therapist who went to lunch and came back late. If you know you have work at 1... then you show up on time! So late therapist and rude receptionist... already a bad start. My friend said her massage was fine but all she kept thinking when she was face down was how dirty the table and ground was... gross. Lastly, my massage therapist was accommodating and nice but nothing to write home about... frankly it wasn't a good massage. Never again. You got two stars, because one my friend said her male therapist was fine and the other star bc my therapist was a nice person. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! EVER! I came here while I was on vacation. A few of my friends and I came here to get pedicures and manicures. We were not familiar with the area so we googled a few places that were in the nearby area. The website makes everything look so nice and luxurious when indeed it was the complete opposite. We were on vacation so we said what the heck and got the high tide pedicure which is $40 and the high tide manicure which is $25. I got my pedicure first. I was so excited because I was thinking that I'm going to be relaxing in this nice big comfy chair soaking my feet while they take care of me. I was wrong!! TELL ME WHYYYY the nail lady came out and we sat at a little desk and she made me sit on a computer desk chair! WTF?!!! And I was soaking my feet in one of those Conair water foot massager like you can get at Walmart!!! I have one of those at home. SO I'm spending $40 to sit in a computer chair in those cheap foot soaker. I was sooo mad!!! After I just did that we just canceled the manicures and the rest of our appointments. The people were nice, but I would never pay $40 for something I can do at home. They should not call themselves a spa or charge someone $40 for their "high tide" pedicures. Ridiculous! I had been saving a gift certificate from SpaFinder for over a year and was looking for a good deal. CloudMover had a 90 minute massage for 90 minutes, plus a free body scrub. They had good reviews, so I was looking forward to trying it. I was very diappointed. I generaly lump massage places into two groups, the luxurious day spa ones like Burke Williams and the more low key ones like BodyCentre. I knew this one was a little more low key because they had no amenities, but that's ok. Except that this just wasn't good. I was late for my appointment, so it was completely reasonable that they told me my 90 minutes would be cut short by 15 minutes. Ok, so I went into it expecting 75 minutes for the massage. I had asked when I made the appointment how long the scrub was (told 10 -15 minutes) and I clarified that the scrub was NOT part of the 90 minutes and they agreed that it was not part of the 90 minutes. Once in the massage room, it was average. The heating pad on my back was nice, but I could hear all of the noise from the salon part, which made it hard to relax. This is totally nitpicky, but they use lotion when I much prefer massage oil. The massage itself was pretty average. I had asked for extra work in my shoulder and neck, and maybe that was extra work, but it really didn't get any of the tension out. The foot massage and neck massage were pretty good. Then the scrub came. Maybe my bad, but it was really uncomfortable. After trying to relax for the massage, it was like being scrubbed with sandpaper. Then it was wiped off with a towel, so now I was a cold, scrubbed raw and the scrub stuff was all in the sheets so it was really uncomfortable. She went to get my robe for the shower and I looked at the clock, 2:08. So, 62 minutes instead of 75 for a massage and 10 for the scrub. I was super unhappy, but at that point I had that scrub all over the place and couldn't really ask for more massage time. I went to the shower, which was pretty much like a dorm shower with a flimsy curtain and drugstore body wash and rinsed off as quickly as possible. One of the workers also walked in while I was in the shower. They didn't really ask me how it was or pick up on the fact that I wasn't happy. No water, I just turned over my gift certificate and left. Disappointed that my spa day turned out so poorly. Going to have to book a new one somewhere else soon. read more

WORST PLACE IN HUNTINGTON BEACH !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not go to this spa if you are not white ( pardon me for being blunt) The staff is horrible, rude and racist ! To make a brief story short I went in for a micro facial and a a few other services. I had called before and arranged to pay by card over the phone. The receptionist ( goes by Lindsey or something another) gave me the go ahead and confirmed the appointment with the credit card. Upon my arrival she charged the card before I was offered services. She also advised me not to go to a neighboring store because they were dirty and the spa didnt associate with "those people". But she assured me that I would be take care of. So after about a 30 min wait, I had a enough. My curiosity struck me, so I went to the place next door to get my eyebrows threaded while i waited. ( Which they did a fantastic job and were honestly the nicest people). I came back to the spa and they refused to offer me services, persoanlly I think it was for going to a Muslim salon right next door ! How RACIST and RUDE ! She told me the card didnt match the adress I gave her which it did. She basically gave me the run around and in the end refused me service ! I ended up calling the police and I am still battling claim disputes Oh did I mention she called me dude when I called to ask when the charges would be reversed then called Huntington beach POLICE, after hanging up on me, claiming that I was threatening her ? Is this place for real ? She wouldnt even give me the owners name or allow me to speak with anyone else in the store ! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT ! So now I am dealing with a lawyer to get the money back for a service that I did not receive and I have a 19 year old girl calling me a dude and telling me im out of line ! wow ! Is there a way to give negative stars ? I rank this place negative 3. The decor is terrible it reminds me of my great grandmothers basement filled with cheap nick nacks and topped off by a rude obnoxious staff. If you know what a real spa experience is... DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!! this is a cheap hole in the wall shack with horrible customer service. Suggestions: 1. wear something easily removable on top, as you do undress from the waist up. You can undress below the waist as well, but really no point unless you are getting a service for that area. 2. dont schedule around your monthly cycle, as you are more sensitive. 3. Robal = does great if you have dry skin; Monica = does great if you have oily skin After getting a couple more facials from here, it pretty much doesnt get much better than this. I booked another facial maybe 6 months later (like i mentioned before in my previous review, I live close but not close enough). I wasn't able to get Robal, but I booked with another esthetician, Monica. Monica did the same analysis, and noticed that my skin was very oily. Since she herself had oily skin, she knew what to do. She worked her magic, and also did the microdermabrasion, which she thought I would benefit from. My skin after felt SO AMAZING. The microderm was an extra fee (I want to say like $35?) and I bought a few more travel sized things to try out, in addition to a good exfoliant (Dermologica) and I was on my way. My latest facial was just recently. I would highly recommend not scheduling a facial before your menstrual cycle, as you are more sensitive. I noticed that the extractions hurt a little more than usual (but for me, nothing that was too painful to stop!) and I was able to again schedule with Robal. I was lucky because it was my birthday last month, so I was able to get the microderm again, plus the pumpkin peel! I again bought some of the travel size products, along with a Zinc and Sulphur mask that worked really well during my facial. I will really try to book sooner than 6 months! I probably could get their membership package if I really wanted to. I realized that their price point is really good, considering they are in Huntington Beach. My old facial lady (RIP Tina!) was located in South Pasadena, and her facials were $70 with a huge discount since we were family friends. I would really like to try some of their other services so I can give a well-rounded review! read more

When it comes to a firm, very deep and therapeutic massage I highly recommend Dianne. I was blown away with her skills. I even had to treat my 74yr old father because I truly feel her massages are beneficial for your health. She is the REAL deal. The salon is NO frills and does not offer much other than excellent treatments at a fair price. This is the local spot for taking care of your maintenance. The "Spa" is not really a spa where you will hang out for jacuzzi, lunch, lounging etc. They dont have/offer any of those high end spa perks. It's located in a strip mall close to Bella Terra off the 405 and Center Dr. BOTTOM LINE: It's just a get in, get out great service, friendly staff who always remembers you at the best price. read more

I have visited Cloudmover Day Spa twice for eyebrow waxes. I've been having my brows done for about six years now, 4-7 times per year. I saw the same gal both times, and she was wonderful. Her name is escaping me, but she did an excellent job. I always hate when my eyebrows get trimmed too short to be spiky. She trimmed them just right. She arched them just how I wanted. Do NOT get yourself on Cloudmover's e-mail list. I received way too many e-mails from them, but there was no "unsubscribe" button to click, so I e-mailed back asking to be removed from their list. To my surprise and frustration, they e-mailed back explaining why they have me on the list and basically begged me to stay on it. I had to e-mail back twice more to finally convince them to take me off of it. Ridiculous. That aside, their in-store service is great. The waiting room is lovely and relaxing. I came in for a massage after buying a groupon. Although my experience was hilarious, it was definitely not good. My cousin got a massage from the same guy, I believe his name was Gabriel (long dark hair, wears vans, looks young enough to make you feel awkward), and it is now a memory we laugh about. First - he didn't turn the lights down. Forget that when I was on my back it was glaring even with my eyes closed, but you become very aware that your body is lit up as well. Second- he does this thing where he picks up your arm and just wiggles it. There were multiple times during the "massage" I had to stop myself from laughing out loud. I left with knots still in my back but luckily all the laughs shaken out of me... literally. (to be fair, I could have asked him to focus on my back but I chose not to) Third- when I realized I had a male masseur, I left my underwear on to be more comfortable. HE MASSAGED UNDER MY UNDERWEAR. Now your thinking, maybe they were granny panties and he just needed to do my glutes? Nope. Definitely a thong. fourth- and my person favorite. He rubs your neck. Hard. It's a little chokey... my cousin had the same experience! Last- he told me I could get dressed and proceeded to leave the room. Just as I was about to get up, he came back and proceeded to give me a sales pitch and his business card. Said they made him pitch to get more clients, even though I was from out of town. It would be nice to at least get dressed and get a cup of water before he needs to do that. read more

Being a girl trying to live on a budget, a boyfriend who couldn't move his neck it was so stiff, and a knot in my shoulder that most people would have mistaken as a hump, I really needed a place that would work and not be pricey. When I made the appointments for Cloud Movers, I was a little skeptical. I hadn't had a massage in like 6 years and even then it was to fancy day spas that were way over priced. As it was my first facial, Carly was extremely attentive and explained everything she was doing at every step, gave amazing recommendations on products and what I should be doing weekly, and answered every question I had. I recently had an injury to my shoulder from playing basketball so I made an appointment with Chloe for a deep tissue massage. I was extremely limited in the movement of my arm horizontally. Not only was the massage great but Chloe spent a good amount of time doing different lateral and horizontal stretches with my arm on the side of the injury. By the next day I felt like I had at least 50% of my range of motion back! No doubt i will be coming back here for another massage soon! The ladies at the front desk were very nice. For years I have been coming to Cloudmover. Back when their location was not in the 5 Points Shopping center. I have always had the greatest customer service with this spa. Yesterday I called and spoke to Christine who is the GREATEST. Not only did she answer every question I had regarding services and packages, but she was able to organize my insidiously requests and make it the best spa day for my mom and I. All, only 24 hours in advance. What a phenomenal outcome! For my facial, I had the lovely Carly who always does an amazing job and makes me so relaxed. My massage was done by Hector today and it was INCREDIBLE. I felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated today, which is exactly what my mom and I both needed. My mom also raved about her services on the drive home. Jasmine did the greatest job with her hot stone massage and Robal made my moms eyebrows perfect and facial wonderful. I bought a Groupon for a massage here an I was very happy with the experience. Emily was my therapist and she is really strong and hit all of the rock hard spots in my neck. She also did some great stretches on my neck and shoulder area. Emily knows her stuff which is not always the case when you buy Groupons for massage spas. The spa is nicely decorated, has nice sheets and towels and super comfy massage table. I asked for deep tissue and I was not asked to pay an extra $10.00 like most places. This review is specifically for Caitlyn. She did my wedding makeup application, and was AMAZING. She truly did more than she had to: after I told the receptionist that I was having a 1920s art deco wedding, she did some research into what went into that, then she designed a look for me and I believe, tried it out on one of her co-workers. She mixed me a custom foundation and a lovely red lipstick during a trial the day before the wedding. All this is perhaps part of getting a professional makeup application, but what she did that impressed me the most was, when I had some concerns that the mix was a bit too pale, she both explained the difference between a look in a mirror and in photographs, and tweaked the mix so that it was PERFECT on my day. I'm a semi-local here in HB (live in LA, family is here) and after seeing it rated "Best Day Spa - Where The Locals Go" I had to see what all the commotion was about. I was dying for a good microdermabrasion facial. Unfortunately, it's really hard to judge what salon offers a legit service, as prices often vary. First, I was greeted warmly by their front desk girl, Yvette (or was it Yvonne? I always mix those up). She was very sweet and offered me water and snacks while I waited for my esthetician. I was given a complimentary piece of jewelry as a new customer, which I thought was really cute. Second, their prices are really great, considering other places local to the HB area will charge upwards of $100 per session. My session was $75, and Linh didn't skimp anywhere. Linh was really amazing, and was able to answer all my questions about the service, how it differed from having a peel, how many sessions I should have, etc. I really just wanted a great facial, and wanted to see results. She took her time with the steaming and with the double cleansing, was quick (and painless) with extractions, and sent me off with some multivitamin sun screen samples (Dermalogica, which is great since I have sensitive skin). Definitely low key, and they get down to business fast. If you want a no bull#### salon, this is the place to go! :) read more
