THE BEST Gluten free pizza and bread sticks. The dough is actually soft, fluffy, and absolutely delicious.

Well we went on a recommendation from a friend. From the reviews it appears to be a great pizza joint but we had to much of pizza lately, so we opted for other fare. My wife ordered the make your own pasta bowl and I the 1/2 pound burger & fries. The pasta was with the creamy asiago sauce...it came so peppery that my wife could taste nothing else. You could see the heavy amount of pepper specks in the sauce. We asked to return it for maybe a Alfredo sauce...the waitress seemed hesitant to return it but did. An older lady came out with the waitress and explained their "family recipe" was with the added pepper and the peppery sauce base for the creamy asiago was in fact the alfredo. Rather than get another pasta bowl my wife opted for the Chicken Piccata, as she makes the dish and has eaten it many times in Italian restaurants. My burger came properly cooked but surprisingly under seasoned (a surprise when the sauce was over seasoned). It was bland and with the Swiss cheese topper made it an even blander sandwich. Palatable but not worth the $7+ price tag. We ordered a pasta dish for the children and opted to take my wife's dish as a takeout as the entire restaurant trip to that point was nearly 2 hours. The chicken piccata appeared to be bland chicken breasts drowned in a white wine sauce....no capers & no sides(she had soup & salad at restaurant before other fiasco) and tasted like boiled chicken... price tag $10.95. Finally the kids would barely eat the pasta & meat sauce although they LOOOOOVE pasta(their favorite & over requested meal). I will not return...even if the pizza is stellar....service was good but not great. I am out $34.00 and most of the food was in the trash can. If you go...order the pizza....My recommendation....avoid it.... overpriced for the quality. read more

Quite simply the best Detroit style pizza. The waitstaff is very friendly. Their pizza bread is to die for. It reminds me of the pizza bread that my grandma used to make. One piece of advice: Their pizza slices are very filling! A 4 piece pizza will leave you and another person very stuffed! To all of the people that keep commenting on their other food....unbelievable. Why are you going to this establishment and not eating pizza? That's the equivalent of going to Mexican restaurant, ordering a grilled cheese because you don't like Mexican, and saying it wasn't good. read more

This is definitely a family staple for the area. The key word here is consistency. Yes, their waitstaff is a revolving door. And yes, there is nothing healthy on the menu. But if you're looking for old school Italian with Detroit Style Pizza and an ample bar this is where you want to be. And btw, nothing is better than that whipped cheesecake. read more

Love Cloverleaf, I have been going there for over 40 years and have never had a bad meal or service, until today. I went in for some pasta, they have great pasta sauce and I was craving it. I was met by a very rude girl, had a pissed off look on her face, like I was bothering her. I told her I wanted pasta and her response was, "We are only serving pizza, salad and bread sticks" so I asked if she knew when they would be having a full menu again and her snarky nasty response "When we have a full staff" Well, it isn't my fault that no one wants to work so don't get nasty with me. She needs to realize that customers are the reason for her work!!!! I know I won't be back for a while, and I sure hope she isn't there again, or I will never go back. read more

Grew up in Eastpointe and just never caught a taste for any of the food especially the pizza. The sauce is too sweet in my opinion.

Went again last night and was equally wowed with the food, and slightly happier with the service...sort of. We waited a solid ten minutes for our server to greet us, and then we waited a solid 5 minutes for our drinks, and then we waited another solid ten minutes to order. The salad took a while to arrive, but the pizza arrived on-time and our server was really friendly and gracious. The food was outstanding again. Overall it was another great experience. Despite being fairly busy, the service was better than I had expected. Seems like this place can get some pretty large groups coming through (there were a couple besides our group of 8 present) and did a great job a handling our needs. One minor botch involved a server not understanding the difference between a pint and a pitcher but when the worst thing that comes from a mistake involves having to drink more beer life is not so bad. Obviously, Cloverleaf's major draw is the pizza. The slightly over cooked, greasy, not-as-delicious-as-I-remember pizza. I've had worse within the the "Detroit" pizza style realm (Buddy's oddly enough) but based on the sheer volume of "this pizza is awesome" reviews I think it's worth a shot if you're on the eastside. This is the best Detroit style pizza you can get. I grew up on the east side and we always used to come here. We would also go to the original Buddy's, Loui's, and all the other delicious pizza places. This one is still my favorite. I have never had anything other than pizza and salad so I can't comment on the rest of the menu. The antipasto salad is REALLY good. I recently took my fiance here when we were in town for Christmas, and he didn't even want salad at first. I talked him into it and he ended up eating a TON of salad. This is a nice place that would be great for any size Group. I can't believe I drove past this place for years and never thought about stopping. Well on a rainy day I was driving by and decided to stop!!! My first impression is that the dining area reminds me of an old pizza place that I visited when I was younger. It had such a nice vibe and I couldn't wait to try the food. The dining area is large; there were different areas to sit. I noticed they had a nice size bar with plenty of seating. The customer service was great! We sat down and the nice waitress came over immediately. We were given a tasty bread basket to start. We ordered a small pizza and antipasto salad. They were both very tasty! ! This wasn't the best pizza I've ever had but it was at the top. Pizza great. Very disappointing spaghetti and eggplant parmesan. Veggies in the sauce seemed to have been just thrown in they were still hard. Eggplant seemed to be nothing more than greasy frozen eggplant patties on top of sauce. Nothing spectacular. When I was younger, we'd come here after a day of sailing and order a huge pizza and while my dad drank Labatt, my brother and I would think we were awesome, sipping beer-bottle-lookalike IBC root beers. This is definitely my favorite pizza of anywhere I've had pizza, hands down. You really can't beat it. It's square pizza with crunchy, crispy crust and lots of gooey cheese and perfect sauce. Oh Cloverleaf. Back in the day, they used to have karaoke on Friday nights. My friend and I would sit out in my 88 mustang and drink Boone's farm for an hour or so before going in to sign some tunes. The service was always great, especially for dealing with underage drunkards, and the pizza is actually pretty damn good. It's not a place I'd go on a date or for a special night. This place will always hold a place in my heart. The food is amazing for Italian food. Pasta here is just like what my dad use to make. The pizza is worth the money hands down. The honey bread was delicious and crispy. They did a fundraiser for one of the staff members who lost her mother to a drunk driver. I've never been to a place that cared that much for their staff. I can't believe as often as I have been here, I have never reviewed Cloverleaf. I meet friends here every once in a while. It's one of the few places that we can all agree on. They have a great lunch buffet with several types of pizzas, breadsticks, a pasta dish, chicken wings, some vegetables, soup, and usually a pudding. The buffet is always fresh and tasty with lots of variety. If I don't get the buffet, they have an awesome antipasto salad. They have a great area for groups and are very accommodating to large parties. read more

I have had their pizza many times over the years but this was first visit. Place was packed but we were sat immediately. We got the standard pizza, breadsticks, and beer. The breadsticks were on point as the cheese was gooey deliciousness. I'll definitely be back. read more

Lately the service here has improved. It was never bad to start with but they seem more thoughtful, attentive and flexible. I remember in earlier reviews some people mentioned that the dough was a little under cooked. Someone I was with noticed this and they thought the bottom should be more crispy. In 2016 I came to visit Michigan and late in the afternoon I was very hungry. My colleague and I decided to find some Pizza. I was not sure that anybody in the neighbourhood could accommodate a gluten-free pizza for me but looked on the internet and found http://cloverleaf-pizza.com They offered gluten-free pizza and we made our decision. My colleague was very interested in how my meal was and I assured him that after 7 years of being wheat free it was the best gluten-free pizza I had ever had. He was happy and said that his regular pizza was the same, best he had ever had. I came home and told my husband. Unfortunately we didn't make it back to MI until today. Being close to home and craving pizza my husband and I finally tried this place. I found a coupon for a large pizza (it was $2 off a large specialty), I made sure to read the fine print but when I showed the waitress she said they wouldn't accept it because it was a misprint and it was suppose to be carry-out only. No biggy right? Our appetizer was cheese sticks but we were surprised when we got our bill because the cheese sticks were smaller and were over $6, when there was only 6 stick. For dinner we ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza and it was amazing! My husband and I had 4 pieces left over too! I can't give them a lower review, because I like the food, and usually am satisfied with the service. I say usually, because last time we went there, the service was incredibly horrendous. I will admit, they were very busy, but I did take that into consideration. I even went so far as approaching the manager, but the response was, "Well, what would you like me to do about it?". Went here for about the 5th time and its now my last. First, the do not have the parking lot plowed nor is even the sidewalk to get in the place shoveled. Then i go on their website to ask for the coupon price thst is on their site for a large 10.99 2 topping. Come inside, the carryout girl says " go to the bar". No hello. Just "go to the bar ".
