Gym is kept pretty clean, classes are legit (as they should be) since that's the gym's primary concept and format, the selling point for all intents and purposes. Steam room lacks a bit of steam power, sauna should 1000% be 5-10 degrees hotter at the minimum. They never have the cold eucalyptus towels stocked , like never. And their big towels are so flimsy and small. They really should consider investing in better quality materials for their amenities. This is very close to being a stellar perfect gym. Lastly, the techno gym machines and equipment are the best. The most comfortable and highest quality machines I've ever used. Tops equinox and most of lifetimes machines for sure. I think it's some Italian brand but not sure. Im on the VIP Waitlist for both Costa Mesa and Portola. Primarily interested in Costa Mesa since my work is across the street. If their early pricing is around 150-200 a month I'll sign up immediately.

I've been to this gym once before about a year ago, but finally decided to get a membership to them this year. I've been getting into pilates lately, and realized a membership to a pilates studios is $300, while Club Studios' membership is $230, and offers a variety of classes like Ride, Form pilates, Reformers pilates, hot pilates, HIIT, plus regular gym stuff. The downside to Club Studios is trying to get a class. It does get booked pretty quickly, especially the popular classes. Somehow, I managed to pick up about four classes a week! The classes are super fun, and led by really great instructors. They're about 45 minutes long, and are great for beginners and first timers. The gym itself is on the smaller side, but you'll never really have to wait for anything, even during on peak times.

Clean and bright location with a ton of class options. If you like rumble, there's a boxing class for you! Also yoga, reformer Pilates, spin/cycle, and HIIT. Only thing that bothered me was the water pressure of the showers which fluctuated but was mostly weak and the low quality toiletries.

I went to visit Club studio because I had a conference in Irvine. I wish there was one closer to me. They have trampoline classes, spin, Pilates, pool, weights, cardio equipment, and my favorite, a recovery center! I heard that LA fitness is going to be turning into Club Studio. If that's the case, I cannot wait! The people there were super nice. You can go to the studio the first time for free! I love that gyms do this so you can see if you would like to get a membership there or not. Too bad it's too far for me. They told me the price is $250 a month. Which to me isn't bad for all of the classes that they offer with the amenities.

I love club studio! The equipment is top-notch, and the classes and instructors are some of the best out there. Everything is super clean, and they even provide regular and cold towels. The locker rooms are great, and while the space doesn't look huge, it truly has everything you could want: Pilates, yoga, lifting, spin, boxing, basketball, pickleball, and sauna rooms. Took off a star mainly due to the availability of classes, you have to book a week out and even with that you might not get into the class you're wanting. Too expensive of a gym if you're not going to get the classes.

Submission to their portal as stated below on 3/8 explicitly stating cancellation and done step by step with staff
    Aaron W.

I am writing this to document my experience with Club Studio so others considering membership are aware. This situation involved internal system failures, continued billing after cancellation, and repeated attempts by management to place responsibility on me despite following staff instructions exactly. On 3/8, I went to Club Studio in person to cancel my membership. I sat down with the same sales representative who originally signed me up. She walked me through the cancellation process step by step on Club Studio's portal, watched me submit it, and confirmed everything was completed correctly. I want to be very clear that this agent was kind, warm, welcoming, and professional from day one. Even during the cancellation, she told me she hoped I would come back someday. When she saw me months later today, she got up to say hello and asked if I was there to sign up again, reinforcing that she remembered I had canceled and was no longer an active member. Despite canceling exactly as instructed in person, I was charged every single month from March through December (screenshots). When I returned to address this, the manager told me it was my fault for not responding to a follow-up email asking what my message was about. In the photos attached, the subject line of my portal submission clearly stated my cancellation request, exactly as I was instructed to do by a member of staff. Although I received a response two days later stating they were unsure what my message entailed, I had already been reassured in person that my cancellation was completed and had no reason to believe there was any unresolved issue. As a business owner who receives hundreds of emails daily, I would not reasonably continue monitoring something I was explicitly told was handled. The manager then explained that Club Studio's internal portal does not display certain data being submitted. However, I was explicitly instructed by staff to submit my cancellation that way. Because their system could not read or process what was submitted through their own portal, my cancellation request was never "handled". A formal cancellation process should function correctly and process submitted information as intended. It makes no sense to have a system where a cancellation can be missed simply because the portal cannot read submitted information. That is an internal design flaw, not a client error. The manager then proceeded to say it's my fault I didn't check my email. I directly asked the manager to elaborate how an internal systems system error is the burden of the client, and he could not. He repeatedly stated that I should have checked my credit card statements or replied to the email but could not explain how their system's failure was my responsibility. On 3/24, I also received an automated email stating my guest pass had been "reset," despite canceling on 3/8 and not returning as a member. When I showed this to the manager, I was told not to pay attention to that as clients randomly receive automated emails and that it "doesn't mean anything," further reinforcing how disorganized their internal communication appears to be. I did not use Club Studio as an active member after March. I work out daily at a different gym in Costa Mesa. The only time I returned was in November when I used a free one-day guest pass due to traffic preventing me from reaching my normal gym. If I had an active membership, there would have been no reason to use a day pass. While I was there, a representative asked if I was considering signing up again, further confirming I was viewed as a former member. Additionally, I was previously on a shared account with a friend and was told only one credit card could be on file. On 3/3, after I told him I was canceling soon and switching gyms, he updated the account to his card and he was charged that same day. Despite this, both of us were charged ongoing monthly on separate cards, which makes no sense given that I canceled, did not sign up again, and did not authorize a new account. When I asked to escalate this issue to corporate, I was told there was no phone number or email available and that the same manager who was blaming me would leave an internal note and get back to me. When I asked for a copy of that note to ensure accuracy, I was told that was not possible, leaving me with no transparency or verification. When I requested a refund, I was told they couldn't offer a full refund because the amount was "too sizable." That only further emphasizes importance on why their system should have safeguards to prevent problems such as a simple ability to read the subject line of a cancellation request which seems like a basic functionality. I am sharing this experience so others can be informed and protect themselves. A business should not place the burden of internal errors on its customers, and I hope Club Studio takes this feedback seriously and improves how cancellations, billing, and client concerns are handled.

What an amazing gym! I've personally never seen anything like this. So many options, no has an excuse to not work out. The smallest details are covered here. From cold towels to a recovery room. Their amenities are so worth giving them at least a tour to check them out. I took a cycle class and the teacher was top notch! Can not wait to recommended to all my clients.

Ask the Community - Club Studio

Is it true that you can't shower or enjoy the SPA after 9pm from Monday through friday eventhough the gym closes at 10pm?

    Yes and many other things

Is it hard to book classes? Do they get full quickly?

yes you need to book as soon as you can because all classes are amazing and get full. Make sure you're not late either, they will deny you if you are.

I see that the membership has "brand access" to different gyms. What exactly does that mean? Does that it comes with a membership to other gyms? If so what level membership?

You can go to ant LA Fitness included in the membership

Is the kids center included with membership or is that a extra fee?

They removed the kids club. It's now an extra reform room

The new shower products are an upgrade from the old ones. The reason my rating is low; The main issue I have here is that I frequently see people taking selfies in the locker room. I used to complain about it, but management doesn't seem to do anything. I get an email that it's serious or a phone call and I appreciate it, but nothing seems to happen. Just today, I went through the locker room to go to the party that the gym was having, and I saw a girl taking selfies in the locker room. Other women were changing there, so it wasn't like she was all alone. It's super easy to get photos of people changing in the background. I have easily seen people taking selfies in the locker room at least a dozen of times in the last couple years. We change there. We don't have our clothes on. Why is it okay to take a photo? Even if you aren't intending to photograph others, which most people aren't, people can easily show up in the background. It makes me so uncomfortable. I avoid changing in the locker room now, or if I do, I try to hide in the back. Changing in the bathroom stalls isn't easy because things can fall into the toilet and changing in the shower is wet and the showers sometimes get crowded. It has decreased how much I value this gym, and I am hesitant to recommend it to others. I pay a lot for the gym and amenities, but if I have to constantly look over my shoulder, it ruins the experience. And when I do shower here, I have to bring clothes I can immediately change into in the shower to minimize walking around undressed in case someone decides to take a selfie and I happen to be in the reflection in the mirror. This also limits my ability to do stuff in the locker room like put lotion on. If I complain, I feel l get labeled as a "Karen". Staff doesn't seem to care. People get upset if you talk to them, and I shouldn't have to. I get emails from management that they take this seriously, but if they did they could at least put prominent signs on the mirrors in the locker rooms or have staff members remind women in the locker room not to take photos.

The pool is useless if you are serious swimmer. Frequently 90°, I'm overheating after 300 yards. This pool is for geriatrics and kids. Also for their pool parties but not for real swimmers. Workout area is great, lots of racks. I hate the lighting though. The ceiling is covered in outdoor parking lights. I don't think it bothers anyone else but it's offensive to me. I wish there were designated stretching areas but you can stretch in front of your rack if that's where you are working out otherwise you just have to find a space. The locker room is bad, too crowded. Not enough lockers. Not enough toilets. The sauna - horrible. It only holds 8 people at a time, the steam room is even worse 5, if that. The showers are decent, plenty of room to do what you need to do. I've only done cycle classes, they are basically HITT workouts high RPM, High heart rate, but only 45 minutes. The facility itself is beautiful, upscale, and consistently clean, with thoughtful amenities like Kiehl's products in the locker rooms that make the experience feel elevated. What really makes this gym stand out, though, are the amazing instructors. Cory for spin, Mariah for mat Pilates, and Haly, Isaiah, and Carmen for Alpha are some of my favorites. Last year, around May 2025, they introduced CTR, a reformer-based Pilates class that was a total game changer for me. I no longer needed to go to a separate Pilates studio. Rob and KO helped build the program, and they were both spectacular. Rob is rarely there now, and KO recently left the gym. In my opinion, Anisa Diaz is an exceptional CTR instructor. Honestly, she's great in every class I've taken with her, including spin and mat Pilates. No two CTR classes with her are ever the same. She's incredibly knowledgeable about the human body, has excellent flow, and every movement feels intentional and challenging in the best way. She consistently brings fresh ideas and new challenges that keep the classes engaging and fun. She truly elevated the entire experience. However, over the past few months, some of her classes have been cut, and I feel the CTR program has started to feel lacking and subpar. Because of that, I've found myself returning to private Pilates studios like Drenched OC, Anodetome, Sol, and Jetset Pilates, which are all fantastic if you're considering a private studio experience. At this point, I mainly take CTR at Life Time only when Anisa is teaching. Overall, I'm still very happy with Life Time. I just wish they would bring more energy -- and Anisa -- back to CTR.
