Pretty darn legit chicken sando. I usually go for the mild spice. I love the slaw that's in the sandwich. It's not too creamy with mayo, keeping it lightly sweet and a light vinaigrette tang. The chicken is always crispy, light battered, and juicy. And the bun- nicely toasted, keeping every bite in its place. When I'm not too hungry, but the man wants a sandwich, I would add a chicken tender to the meal and make my own salad with it. Perfect! And the fries...so crispy and well seasoned. I love it! Price is decent and service is quick. I've ordered during this "stay at home" order and it was stress-free just ordering online for easy pick up. This place is located in a strip mall area. Parking is on the street. Easy to find. Inside had a nice small ambience to it. Very cozy feeling. I ordered the main chick combo. Had my hot chicken sandwich with medium heat and a side of Mac n cheese. The hot chicken sandwich was nice and crispy on the outside, with a great seasoning to it, and soft and juicy on the inside. The only thing was we ordered mild for the spiciness level and it was still pretty spicy. my sister and I can definitely tolerate spicy levels but we both agreed that mild was more medium-spicy (to the point where our noses were running haha). The Mac and cheese, tater tots, and coleslaw were all very tasty too. This was my first time here and boy it was an experience. I consider myself an average spicy eater. But every time a food joint offers multiple levels of spice I get weary and order mild. And I'm so glad I did. The mild was a lot spicer than I expected, I'd consider it medium spice level at other food joints. Food was a little saltier than expected. I'm always looking for a new hot chicken place. In IG it looked really good, but I've been burned that way before (looking at you, Egg & Bird!), so I approached this with some trepidation. On the positive side, it was close enough to my office for it to be an easy drive. Ordered the breakfast burrito (a stand by for me) online, and drive the 9 minutes so I'd get there just as it was easy to pick up. Delighted that the place was located in my old neighborhood, as I'd grown up a five minute walk from this place. The burrito was done three minutes after I'd arrived so it was freshly done. Got back to the office and unpacked. The burrito was cut in half, so I could see inside that it was jam packed with a scrambled egg, tater tots, and chicken. I ordered just under the medium (I like to taste the food, not just feel the heat), and it had the tiniest of kicks. It was delicious and filling. Ordering online and pick up is so easy, remember to order through their website! Great service, great COVID precautions. Parking is usually ok in this area, depends on the time since it is shared. The side chick is the perfect size for me and their mac+cheese is bomb. I always also get a coleslaw to help cut through the fried sandwich. Tator tots are also great here, but really when can you go wrong with tator tots? Their Nashville hot breakfast burrito is also delicious! A little hearty for me, however if you can split this with another item with someone it's perfect. Each tender is topped with pickles and served with a dipping sauce to cool your mouth down. They were very busy on a Sunday around noon, but the employees were all friendly and helpful. They apologized for the wait, but the wait was expected with the number of people waiting for orders. Not too long of a wait considering they prepared the chicken fresh and hot. I just had lunch today at Cluck & Blaze (pre and post lockdown) and they may be the front runner for best hot chicken in Long Beach. One bite and I'm sold! As a LBCC alumni I'm familiar with the options here but times have changed for the better. This area is known for their cursed store fronts due to many businesses coming and going but I have a feeling Cluck & Blaze is here to stay. The main chick is their take on the hot chicken sandwich and it's what you expect from a sandwich packed with juicy chicken and slaw, delicious. It's virtually the same as every sandwich I've tried but that chicken is undeniably good. Every bite I took I can't get over how good the chicken taste! On my second visit I got their breakfast burrito and this was bomb too. They no longer have tots in the burritos and replace them with fries, practically the same thing. You get the breakfast fixings of egg, starch and your level of heat and it's good to go. I admit for $9 these burritos are on the small side but they do pack a punch. I said it once and I'll say it again, Cluck and Blaze could be the best hot chicken shop in the LBC hands down. read more

Looked up this place. My son and I love spicy chicken. Ordered the 1/4 chicken, Mac n cheese and drink. My son got the 3 strips, fries and drink. The strips are a much better value. They are large compared to the leg/thigh that I got. It was one piece and very small. I got the Hot and they recommended my son get the mild. I think that was a good choice for him but I think I could have gone one level up. The seasoning is a dry rub, not the chili oil dipped hot chicken that I expected. Either way it was fresh and the quality of the chicken was good. Just bummed by the size of my order. Also, the fries are a mix of fries and tater tots and most of them were tater tots. I haven't been on Norse Way in probably a decade, so the perpendular parking was new, as was the storefronts along the street. Came here for late-ish lunch after seeing something on my Facebook feed about a Nashville chicken burrito. Open concept and seeing the staff working on orders and their attention to detail was nice. My order to a bit and an employee told me they made a mistake on my order, so they included an order of waffles. I also overheard the same employee tell another customer that they included an extra tender since because the other one was smaller than usual; I like the quality control. Burrito was great; I liked the crunch of the tender and the tater tots were a nice touch. I went with the Better (medium) thinking I could handle it; I've had Nashville chicken before and it's usually too spicy for my taste. I'm thinking my digestive system (pushing 50 here) just can't take super-spicy food like I used to (I can't even imagine the Call Mom or Call the Morgue levels). A side of pickles and more tater tots helped, as well as washing it down with a pink lemonade (wished they had icea tea). Staff was very attentive and they topped off my lemonade and gave me a bottled water to go. The spice kicked back a few hours later (never a fun thing at work), so next time I'm 1) calling ahead to save time and 2) going with no spice/heat. read more
