This was my second time having Cluck&Blaze came back for the breakfast Burrito. Food was great as like it was before. The Service on the other hand was terrible. We weren't greeted when arrived and mind you we were the only customers inside. The two ladies at the front looked very annoyed that we even walked in. I was the one that said hello politely first to get there attention when she finally came over to take our order she spoke to me in such a low ton, I had to ask her to repeat herself because I couldn't hear her. I felt like a huge inconvenience when entering ordering and even dining in. Definitely felt unwanted. Oh, hey there hot chicken breakfast burrito. Where have you been all my life? No, but serious - that was the sole reason why we made the trek to Long Beach on a Sunday morning. Located on a cute little street near the airport, the small restaurant has some tasty things on the menu, including said breakfast item. We got that and The Main Chick (a hot breast, slaw, pickles and their Comeback Sauce), some mac and cheese and fries. Yes... we were on a mission. I really liked my burrito, but loved the sandwich more. We ended up asking for another Comeback Sauce for the fries as that heated mayo concoction was delish. For the heat level, we were about to do the Feel it Twice (middle level) when the cashier told me to taste it first... so glad she did, cause that ish was HOT. I was eternally grateful for her honesty and saving my mouth from some eternal damnation. Oh yeah, the mac and fries were amazing too. For a Sunday, they were pretty busy but got the line moving fast. There's a good amount of seats inside, or if you're lucky to live close enough, they have a variety of delivery options. Delicious hot chicken. First time I went I got medium, hot and extra hot and the extra hot didn't seem that spicy. 2nd time the extra hot was very spicy. I think the heat mellows a little as the chicken sits. 2nd time my nose was running! Good flavor all around. The chicken sandwich was flavorful but I wish it was a tiny bit juicier. I wish I could put 0 stars, I just received terrible customer service. I understand we are going through a pandemic but I for real got played by who ever was working here today. I paid over $60 plus delivery to get 2 main chicks and fries. My sister is a 7th grader holding it and I kid you not they gave us two side chick but charged me with the main chick. I gave them the benefit of doubt, mistakes happen. We called and talked to 3 people and literally they told us to drive there and show them it bc "they packed it theirselves." I just wanted them to return the difference. It's a $14 sandwich and expected it and if I didn't get it. I expect to get the difference refunded. I also understand there are customers who try to finesse businesses but I assure you I do not mind blowing money for quality, customer service, and value pricing. The waffle was terrible yet better than most places sponge waffle (they use pancake batter instead of waffle batter so you get a rubber waffle that you can give to a dog. ) the sauce was whatever. Excellent service. I ordered the side chick sandwich combo. They allow you to sample the level of heat before purchasing. I like my food hot but their hot was hotter than I expected and I probably wouldn't have enjoyed my sandwich if I didn't sample the heat before I purchased. It's honestly not the worst but not the best If that makes sense, the service was good, wait was about 30 mins nothing to crazy, mac and cheese is bomb (mine was cold) sadly they would've gotten a 4 if it wasn't but it was, another take away is with the tenders they give you one bread that's not toasted (not gonna hate) since Dave's does the same but Dave's gives you 1 bread per tender not 1 bread per order, the reason why they lost another star is because sadly they don't include any sauce, how you gonna charge for sauce without at least giving one, has me eating a dry a** tender lol I would've paid it for sauce If they would've mentioned it when I was ordering... With so many options for Nashville Hot Chicken around, Cluck and Blaze does offer good quality food. Chicken sandwich was very tasty (but kind of small). Mac was delicious. Customer service was decent. I got medium heat and it was pretty spicy. I recommend starting with mild if you don't like too much heat. Main drawback is the price. $15.99 for a chicken and Mac combo and it doesn't even come with a drink. I thought that was the point of getting a combo meal? Legend Hot Chicken in Lakewood is the same price for a Sando and Mac combo but the sandwich is much bigger and it comes with a drink. I would recommend Legend instead. I was going to leave 3 stars but the food is really good. 3.5 stars is more accurate. read more

I saw the ad on Instagram and read the reviews here on Yelp. I expected to be amazed but it was just okay. To me, they're a little overpriced $11.00 for a chicken sandwich (not a combo) is crazy. To feed 4 people (2 of which only got a sandwich) it was $57. As far as the taste - the macaroni and cheese was slightly bland. I thought it could use a little salt or at least a little more cheese flavor. The chicken tenders (medium) had just the right amount of spice but didn't really have much flavor if that makes sense. I only came to Cluck & Blaze today because Fire Bird is closed Mondays. I've had three experiences with C&B. The customer service leaves much to be desired. I believe there's a lack of communication between the staff as well as with the clientele. Before covid we came in for pickup and we were missing a few items. Since then we've had it delivered and I will admit that the food itself is good. I really dig the cluckin mac. Looking back, it was a small miracle to receive all our items. I usually have to order a step up from my usual heat to achieve the spice I want, but everyone's palate is different. Decided to do a big order today for a party, trusting that they worked out "just opened" kinks. My husband went in to pick up the food but it looked kinda small. I asked him if it was everything but he's more trusting than I am. So he opened the bag and finds out it's missing half our order. Had to turn around and wait an extra 20 minutes for the rest of our order. They gave us an extra side of fries as compensation....so the extra time for the extra fries just made us later to our engagement. From now on I'll wait til Tuesday for Fire Bird. Two stars for the food quality. Get your cluck together. Edit: one star for food quality. The breading/skin falls off in flakes and the chicken inside isn't seasoned and is super dry today. The appearance/ branding is really good. As for the food- I ordered the wings just to give it a try, but the chick wings aren't tasty at all. The flavoring they use to make it spicey is good but doesn't really compliment the wings itself. Let me explain. You can make chicken wings and they be okay and add some flavoring but the chicken wings was a disgust in my mouth. I would suggest to use the hot flavoring on the French fries or tater tots. I had to throw away the food. I won't be return to this place. You want this kind of Nashville chicken go to Dave's hot chicken!!! BELIEVE THE HYPE!!! Ordered through uber eats with a friend and tried the Plan B, original Nashville breakfast burrito and cluckin Mac. Everything looked so good we decided to split it all. The burrito was hands down my favorite. Everything was juicy, tender, full of flavor and the perfect level of spice to match the levels description. Came here on a Friday for lunch and they initially had a problem with their system so it was cash only - they probably fixed this now. We each had a sandwich and I asked about the spice levels. The guy said it was really spicy and so we got the medium. The sandwich wasn't bad, but the chicken could use more spice. I think that I could have gotten the next level or the max level. Two things: the food is bomb and props to who my husband believes may be the owner. We ordered take out (hubby got tenders and the specialty fries, I got a couple tenders and some waffles) and the food was still nice and fresh and stayed crispy by the time it made it home to me lol. As we were warned, the medium does pack some heat but it's bearable. It's comparable to a "hot" at other chicken places. The tenders are large with a nice crunchy coating. The comeback sauce was my favorite out of the dip selections. The fries were bomb. I'm on the fence about coleslaw but this one was good, not really mayo'ey lol. Also my husband said the owner was working alongside his employees and that's always a nice thing to see. He overheard there will be a spot opening in Brea so I hope it's also successful.
