I ordered the Havarti Hen and my wife ordered the Chicken tenders and we split fries and Mac n Cheese. Excellent place for chicken sandwiches. The portions are HUGE. We got the classic chicken, Nashville chicken, corn fritters, fried pickles, and fries along with some sauces. We definitely had way too much but everything we got was delicious. The sandwiches are very large but tender, juicy, and very crispy. The sides all came out good and had plenty leftover. I've also had the chance to finally try their Nashville Chicken Sandwich and it is definitely my go-to item if I'm not in the mood to eat tenders. Same heat adjustments as the tenders and the sandwich retains all of its juiciness. One of the best Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches in the area. They really get the spices and heat right where a lot of places call it Nashville but it's just generic spicy chicken. The slaw really sets it apart as well. I got the #2 for level of heat and I think most people will find that more than hot enough. Cluck Kitchen is new and has finally provided the OC with a hot chicken place! They serve HUGE portions and fulfill all you want with calorie-dense and crispy fried chicken. If you don't have a large appetite, then please please please split this! Leftovers will still be good and toast well in the toaster oven or a conventional oven. Havarti Hen: What an interesting sandwich! I loved the sun-dried tomatoes that provided a nice chew and an interesting depth to just chicken and cheese. The havarti cheese is very mild, so it doesn't overpower the chicken. The chicken breast was thick and moist, not dry at all and surprisingly, the chicken's coating stayed pretty crispy the whole time. It sits on a very buttery and rich brioche bun and the butter that toasts the bun up was a little too much. Looking at my sandwich, the bottom half of the bun was kind of soaked with butter so it sogged up and didn't taste that great. It greased up the lettuce and I couldn't eat the rest of the bun : ( Street Corn Fritters: I like corn fritters and corn bread. But, I tend to like drier, crumblier cornbreads, more coarse and more true to the Southern style of cornbread. These were more like deep fried corn cakes? If you like more Northern style cornbreads (cake-like, soft) then you'll like these. But I did like the little corn kernels that provided a different texture! I would want to come back and try more of their items! Their staff is so friendly and accommodating. But, I will definitely have to wait a little while to come back. Had this place on my radar for a while but usually couldn't make it cause they close at 7 pm during COVID. I finally got a chance to try it today after I had a craving for a fried chicken sandwich. Its got some fast food five guys sort of vibes inside with a pretty simple and straight forward menu. We ordered the Cluck Classic and Tenders with ranch and their cluck classic sauce. The Cluck Classic is their take on the chicken sandwich and they also have the Nashville hot chicken as well on their menu if you want something spicier. It was crunchy and had a ratio of vegetables on it that was good enough to accent the chicken instead of taking over. My favorite part about the sandwich is that it stayed composed as we added sauce to it and maintained its crunchy yet tender texture as we were finishing it. The tenders weren't overly greasy or anything and was a good holder for their sauces which are pretty delicious. After reading the previous review I had high expectations for this place as many other helpers have made comparisons to howlin rays. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to the hype, and thats probably because we did take out rather than eat outside in the patio. First I'll start out with the good, I went around 2pm and there was only 2 people I front of me so between ordering and getting food it was about 10 min. That's a much better wait time than Howlin Rays. I ordered 2 Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, fries a corn fritters. Now at $12 a sandwich this isn't your chik fil a patty, I would say this was a solid piece of breast meat, so definitely a filling meal. Out of the side the corn fritters we're really good. Now the bad, unfortunately the sandwich doesn't travel well, with the sauce on the chicken and the vinegar from the slaw, the bun soaks it all up and it gets mushy. Also the breading get soggy and looses it crunch. The edges stay rather crispy, I wish the whole piece stayed like that. The fries were undercooked and not seasoned well, also because of the take out boxes, they get steamed so by the time you get them home, it's just not that pleasant to eat. Lastly we got the hot and really didn't think it was that hot, I'll have to go with the extra hot next time. Ultimate I suggest eating there to get the most out of the meal, but I know during times like these not everyone is comfortable eating on the patio because it does get full with all the shops. My other suggestion is to think about which sides travel well if you are taking this home. The fritters hold up well. Lastly, I heard someone else order and they asked to have the sandwich deconstructed, not sure if others already picked up on that and knew it would be better for takeout. The staff at Cluck Kitchen did a phenomenal job complying with social distancing by putting stickers on the floor, putting plastic between cashier and customer, and wearing gloves and masks. Food came out extra fast and was delicious. The nashville hot chicken was kickn and super spicy just how I like it. The bread under the 3 tenders absorbed the hot oil and and was perfect to eat after. However, the true star of this place was the mac n cheese. Super cheesy and well seasoned can't find better mac n cheese in our area. Service there was great! Based off of other reviews I was expecting the Medium spice to be spicy, but I probably could've gone up a notch. It wasn't dry, but not exactly juicy, and the flavoring of the chicken was a little more on the sweet side. They serve it with a vinegar coleslaw and juicy pickles inside a Hawaiian-like brioche bun. It was good! Not amazing- but good! The corn fritters tastes just like the breading from cornbread with drizzles of Parmesan cheese- I didn't really care for this, and the Mac and cheese wasn't anything amazing- it actually tasted kind of old and bland (you can def skip this). However, I really enjoyed the fried pickles! Their sliced pickles were thick and juicy and they don't go too heavy on the breading, but still has enough crunch! I can't really speak for the chicken tenders since it was for my 8-year old son, but they were big pieces of tenders! My son also said it was just, "okay." Overall, I'd say everything was mediocre. It was good, but nothing really awed my taste buds..I think if they offered a side of some type of sauce for their sandwiches it could have been a little better, but they only offered the sauces for the sides, which I also didn't really care for. Personally, I'd choose Chik-fil-A over Cluck kitchen, and my other family members agreed it probably wasn't worth going back for. But try it for yourself!
